Mongoose Grit Unboxing and First Impressions
Just some thoughts I have about the bike so far.
All in all, It quickly became my go to bike. It's well rounded in road and off road. The trails around here are not that extreme. So a gravel/adventure bike can easily knock them out. And the bike is fast on the both road and gravel.

Baking Honeydew Seeds

Baking Honeydew Melon Seeds Save your seeds from your melons and let dry for one hour or over night. Coat seeds with Soy Sauce and Sesame Seed Oil. Optionally you can soak the seeds in salt water for one hour before baking. Preheat oven at 320F Spread the seeds out, one layer thick. Bake 20, but move them around at the 10 minute mark. Honeydew Melon Seeds taste like pumpkin seeds and a bit like...

Plastic Pedal Maintenance
มุมมอง 7922 ปีที่แล้ว
My cheap pedals were becoming noticeable gunked up. They weren't seized up, but they had a lot of resistance. From what I can recall, they never did spin freely and I just thought it was because they were cheap plastic pedals. But to my surprise. All they needed were some fresh grease and to be tightened down to the correct torque. These pedals easily have over 100 miles on them and multiple se...

Shimano MT-200 vs No Name Cable Pull Brakes
มุมมอง 20K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a comparison of Shimano MT-200 vs No Name Cable Pull Brakes after a season of riding on each. So this video spans two years of footage and riding experience. TL:DR The Shinmano's brakes take less force to engage and have superior low end braking, requiring only two fingers on the brakes. The no name cable brakes could brake with more force if you had a death grip on the levers. But coul...
DIY Mountain Bike Fender
มุมมอง 1.6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
These kind of fenders are fairly inexpensive. But there are a few reason why you would want to make one yourself! Firstly, they can be made from plastic containers which would otherwise be discarded. The only real investment you are making is with your time. If you mess up, it's no big deal as you can always try again on another container. As a budget bike builder I also like the novelty of upc...
Long term review of a Bolany Air Fork
มุมมอง 94K4 ปีที่แล้ว
If you're watching this video, then chances are you found a deal you think is too good to be true and are trying to find reviews of some obscure air fork. This video is really to show off the forks durability. It was installed in 2019 and ridden for two season as of this video. For the most part I've had a good experience with this fork. I've never installed a fork before but being somewhat mec...
Ebay 1x10 groupset review
มุมมอง 1.6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I pieced together two kits I got off of ebay. The first kit came with: -IXF crankset -Hollow tech II bottom bracket. The second was a kit that came with: -SunRace 11-46t 10 speed cassette -Shimano m6000 derailleur -Shimano Shifter -ZRace 34t chainring -10 speed chain. I've put a full season of riding on these parts and so far for the most part I haven't had and major issue with them. Except for...

Thanks! I have a frozen coil fork on an old Trek 29 disc Wahoo. I was really thinking about putting a rigid fork on it but none of them seemed like an exact fit. I am going to try this fork. Worst case I can just keep it licked and it will be lighter!
Do you know the size of the frame?
This looks like an excellent all-around bike. You mentioned 30 bls but how heavy is it with the accessories on it?
Thanks, My RockShox are shot and MTB is over 8 years old, plus I am that bike path and gravel path user your refer to, I think the cost is worth it given your review that will see me through to my next bike. Great review and thanks for showing footage of where you ride to provide context.
I put one of these Bolany forks on a 26" hardtail in about 2019. It's was great, I've ridden it in a many events, such as numerous 30km off road tri (race) stages, numerous 50km social rides, Hiddenvale Epic 60km a couple of times - this is a rough course - rough enough to have the saddlebag tear through the rivets in one ride, Noosa Enduro 60km ...... The remote lockout started to get soft, after at least a couple thousand km. Didn't think it worth the time to try to rebuild it, so I have recently replaced it with the same fork but in a 27.5" to get the front of the bike up a bit. For the price of these things you can't go wrong
thanks for the update !
Ive been looking at the dual crown inverted bolany fork for some average dh riding not hucking just wondering if there any good?
Is this worth trying for a pumptrack / dirt jump bike? What about if it is used always locked?
I bough bolany fork around 1 year ago. The price was less than 100 dollar in indonesia. I used it around once a week for light routes in rural areas. The average distance was around 60km. After 3 months there were problem: the setting for bouncing was stuck. It was too hard to change the setting on handlebar. After 6 months, the oil started to leak. After 9 months, the fork broke completely
I also have another bike with rockshox recon gold. I have used it since 2014. There is no any problem with rockshox fork until now.
Hi, what kind of bushings are inside the fork, plastic or metal with teflon?
Hi there! I know this video's a little old, but I wanted to check in and see if you're still using the fork, and how it's holding up? Mainly, I'm curious how the small bump compliance is. That's my current fork's weak point. Cheers
We makin out of level 0 with this 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Bolany OEM 32 HAS NO STICKERS AND IS $80 on Amazon 9/23
Can you send me a list of the parts and where you bought them please? I just bought the same bike and want it just like yours
Neither one of these guys will make it in the podcast industry.
I wrote a long note, and by mistake it was deleted. I will write it again when i have time “if” and energy “if”.
any idea whats the max PSI it can take? my SAG is still too low at 100psi and my handling on flat road is pretty twitchy like it has a minds of it's own. thanks
How did you remove the pivot point
Ive got the same half step 'problem' on a cube with a 105 shimano shifter with 2 rings on the crankset, so it is not instrinsic to that mongoose only
That bike would be great. If they didn't use a freewhell and put a cassette on.
I've got 2 bikes - one with a cassete, the other one with a freewheel and I don't see any difference. The one with a cassette shifts faster and smoother but it is probably because it also has shimano 105 derailuers, not because the bike has a got a cassette
how's the bonaly fork now?
Still got it. Still works like when it was new.
@@weekendwarrior5303 thanks man…
@@weekendwarrior5303 teach us basic maintenance on this sir, to last longer like yours :)
Mann thank you for the amazing review, people on yt be comparing this $100 fork with $1k forks and kept saving it's not safe! For this price and as an xc rider who uses a coil fork (like me) it's best! Thanks again for saving my money
Park Tool has great videos on dialing in shifting and more for dropbars
This deserves more reviews.
Feels like pitch meeting
Omg! That's so Joe.. I loved it! Fuck off 😆 🤣 😂
2:20 What type of oil do you use? Thanks!
Left over motor oil. 5w 30?
Ballistol, mineral oil based safe for rubber.
Im just looking for JRE#1.....WHERE is IT!!!
Same you found it?
LMFAO wtf is this🤣🤣🤣🤣
The monkey story cracked me TF up 🤣😂
Hi what fenders are those I have same bike
I went with the SKS Bluemels Mudguard 38mm. SKS makes a wider version of this model, and if I had to do it again. I would have went with the wider set. The tires on the bike are 40 mm and I'm barely able to tuck them under this fenders.
Well made !!
First time I have seen this
Great practical ride.
What the fuck 😂😂
Just ordered it and waiting for it to be delivered, I like the rear rack, do you have a to where you got it from? Was it too hard to install?
The bike has plenty or mounting points. Most racks will install with simply 4 bolts. Super easy.
I just put the mt200 on the front of my Trouvaille to replace the generic cable brake. 29er with 180mm front rotor. Left rear brake mechanical. Now it feels much more balanced. I was really having to power grip the old front brake. Now just 2 fingers.
Front derailleur rubs a little, still trying to dial it in....
This was gold!!!
Idk how you have them adjusted, i like mine on the tighter side i hate a long pullon brakes. I pull mine with my index finger its not heavy at all theu are just some rujio kit from amazon🤣. Squeak went away after the first cpl good stops. If anything ill go to hydraulic line pull 4 piston
I have a huffy oxide 26" and I have that pivot arm wobble and used this trick to stop the play. My bike uses a lot thinner bracket mounts for the swing arm which can bend sometimes. But I wondered if it's possible to convert the bushings to bearings for much less friction. Cause I have to usually tighten the bolts in the pivot points after a couple trail rides.
maybe try thread lock first.
How tall are you? Im 6'2 and wondering if this bike will be too small?
I'm 5'11" But I actually had to get a shorter stem because the reach was too long for me.
@@weekendwarrior5303 so it should work out for me. Thanks for the info,
@chadtrips3203 Did you get this bike? How did it fit you at 6'2"? I'm thinking my brother could get this also. Any fitment adjustments you needed to make? Thanks
The Left shifter does a two step change, just as you stated. Although it isn't really a change. The reason is that the 1/2 shift moves the front derailleur across a bit, called trimming, so that when you are on the small chain ring and small cassette cog, the derailleur doesn't rub. The full shift is to go onto the big chain ring. Looks like a good bike for the price.
Everyone on youtube has it specced like this besides kev central. He has it specced just like the pictures. I kind of wish mine was like his brcause the tourney ao70 is not meant for a 34 tooth gear. And having full microshift is satisfying in a way. Im not sure why they're doing this but its weird.
Hi there my friend. What material is the lower legs made of?
Hi there my friend. Do you know what material is lower legs?
Fyi these , the Bucklos and many other brands are all the exact same fork meaning they are the same fork produced in the same factory. They just brand them with different names. For the price they are killer, just inspect prior to install.
im thinking on getting one of this kits for myself since im a complete beginner at this fantastic world of mushrooms so thanks a lot for sharing so i know what to expect. it's like some experience info i gained but didn't try it at all lmao.
Can you provide links for the fenders and pannier rack?
The fenders are the SKS Bluemels 28-38mm. Though if I could do it again. I think I would have went with the lager 38-47 mm model. Because the stock tires are 40mm, and they just barely tuck under the fenders. They work though and look good.
I really want this bike i think its perfect for my week end rides with the kids
