Just installed the Bolany fat bike fork with rebound adjustment on my 70lb electric fat bike. Also, I installed a Cane Creek headset at the same time. Prior to installing the fork, I lubricated the inner stanchions with Dupont Dry-Film PTFE lubricant, which really loosened up the fork a lot just by compressing and retracting it by hand. The dry film won't attract or collect dirt and it's super thin liquid carrier can slip past the seals to get the PTFE where it needs to be. Apparently these forks don't come well greased from the factory and have plastic inner bushings and seals that benefit greatly with some sort of lubrication before putting the fork into service, and every so often afterward. I really learned a lot buying tye fork and doing the install, partly due to your and other videos, so thanks for that.
2.5 MONTH UPDATE- Bolany ZTZ Cheetahs Fat Fork with Rebound Adjust is still working great on my Fat eBike. I am NOT hard on this fork and my eBike is only ridden in good conditions on dry pavement. It is filled to 100PSI and I'm about 250LBS. The bike is about 70LBS fully loaded. The rebound is still working okay as is the lockout function. I will say the rebound and compression adjustment are not very precise. Compression seems to be all or nothing, especially if I'm on the bike when I take it out of lockout. I feel the fork suddenly drop about an inch or so with just a minute turn of the lockout knob somewhere in the middle of it's adjustment range. Due to this abrupt entry into compression, I try to unlock the fork when I'm off the bike. The rebound adjustment is a little less touchy, but I leave it on the slowest rebound setting b/c it's pretty fast to rebound. Going over bumps, you can hear the air rushing into the rebound tank, so it not only sounds cool, but you can kind of hear how the rebound is set, if that makes any sense. All in all, I like this fork a lot for what I do with it. Your results may vary!
I just got that same fork for my 26x4 fat tire ebike(i thought the exact same)but i have no rebound ...im 350 n i have mine set at 125 psi is that enough or to much the chart stops at 100psi

Have a similar cheap airfork. Its a good upgrade from a cheap coil suntour fork. They’re lighter and better travel and damper. I ride xc trails and road. Nothing extreme. Just keep in mind that when wears out you can scrap it. No rebuild possible.
I have the 26" version with remote lockout on an old K2 I decided to revive. Works pretty well even with some mild drops and jumps. Only thing is there is more noticeable stiction compared to the Aion on my Diamondback release. But that's expected when comparing super cheap fork vs solid mid level fork. I give the stanchions a little WPL fork lube every ride and it seems to ease it up.

Hi. Does the fork have the advertised travel? I bought the same fork with advertised 100 mm of travel with 120mm visible stancions, but in reality it bottoms out at 80mm wich for me is a bummer since I am heavy at 120kg. At 110 psi wich is the max presurre from the sticker provided, the sag is 50% of the travel, and the remaining travel is pretty stiff. And another thing...out of the box it is sticky like they put glue inside imstead of grease.

Unused motor oil. Just because that's what I have on hand. Really any oil should be fine. Higher the viscosity the better. But don't use wd-40 or other solvents, as it might ruin the seals.
@@vinceparreno You'd want to oil the stanchions on any kind of fork. It keeps the seals from dry rot, wear and tear as well as creating friction when the fork is operating. A good rule to have is that, any mechanical surface that interacts with another surface should be oiled or greased. But if it's an area that can collect a lot of dirt then it should be lightly oiled, or else it could collect dirt and then become an abrasive.
@@weekendwarrior5303 This is some wrong info. Most forks are oiled from inside the lowers to keep the seals and bushings working. That is why lower leg service is required for FOX, ROCKSHOX, DVO, and XFUSION. This bolany fork seems to need regular greasing and thick motor oil will just make the stanchions look shiny but not provide enough lubrication.

They do, and the price drops from around $120 for the air fork to $70 for the coil fork.
But at the same time, for "only" $50 more (it is nearly doubling the price) you shave 2 pounds of weight and get a significant upgrade in plushness.
Hmmm, the only good coil from Suntour is the XCR. The XCT and the XCM are to heavy.
What travel is it?
My specific fork is 100mm, but I've seen a 120mm as well.
Well done sir 🧐
What oil do you use?
Unused motor oil. Just because that's what I have on hand. Really any oil should be fine. Higher the viscosity the better. But don't use wd-40 or other solvents, as it might ruin the seals.
Weekend Warrior do you need to oil coil forks? Or is oil only for air ?
@@vinceparreno You'd want to oil the stanchions on any kind of fork. It keeps the seals from dry rot, wear and tear as well as creating friction when the fork is operating. A good rule to have is that, any mechanical surface that interacts with another surface should be oiled or greased. But if it's an area that can collect a lot of dirt then it should be lightly oiled, or else it could collect dirt and then become an abrasive.
Weekend Warrior wouldn’t the stanchions be an area that collects dirt and dust? Especially without rubber boots covering them
@@weekendwarrior5303 This is some wrong info.
How about if the travel is 140mm? Can you now do a little bit of aggresive riding?
I’m getting it hopefully I can
My bike has a coil sprung Fox 40, maybe this is for me... 😉
Been looking at this fork for my younger boys bikes. THANKS for the review. Side note I think you should make sure to wear a helmet, Be a good example.
Ended up getting 2 Manitou forks as I felt more confident in there safety.
