Watching all the r53 stuff on TH-cam, lol. My first new car was a 2003 Cooper S, purchased November 2002. Traded it in for an 05 because I wanted the LSD for autocross, and had that car for 5 years. Back in the market for another R53 as a second car to replace my rusty Miata.

I have owned a 2009 330i LCI sedan for 13 years and in this time I have had to replace: cylinder head cover and oil pan gaskets due to oil leaks 6 ignition coils, 12 ignition plugs, 9 fuel injectors, 1 NOx sensor due to engine misbehaving during idle or acceleration 2 new springs at front, all 4 shock absorbers due to one spring at front breaking 1 new battery due to original battery losing power. Original battery lasted from 2009 to 2024. Changing all 6 injectors cost 4100 euros. 1 NOx sensor cost 670 euros.

Well said. Producing a generic marketing video and a concept car isn't difficult. What's difficult is building a brand over decades that people actually care about. Thousands of employees over the years have helped them achieve that, and were proud to be a part of it. Jaguar's leadership choosing to turn their backs to its history just feels cheap.

I have always appreciated the technology of the electric vehicle. Tesla makes a good product. But the last thing, as a car enthusiast, that everyone wants is the entire market to be electric. It's boring. It's mostly devoid of personality. The f type is a car that evokes a raw passion of taming, a beast. I don't care that the new car has a thousand horsepower. There's nothing about that car that makes me excited.That wants me to drive it.

So there is in fact only one good car...the e36😂

The biggest mistake the government made in seeking to abandon petrol & diesel cars for electric cars is that they really don't understand what they are doing! Jaguar are in the same boat. They have gone hook line and sinker for EVs and I think they may well regret it. They have already alienated their current customer base and have tried to eradicate the history of the marque. I am on my second Jaguar but will not be buying a third. Electric vehicles have no soul whatsoever and will never entice me. They seem to go on fire regularly as documented in the US where Jaguar have bought back 2800 2019 EVs from customers for that very reason. Not for me I'm afraid!

Give it a chance. Yes the advert was odd. Start a fresh. No one was buying them especially the ones crapping on the brand after the advert dropping. People are speaking about it now. Let give it a chance. Easy to be negative better to hope the innovate and save the brand.

I got a e90 330i automatic on Sept 30th, 2024 and just saw this video (i don't think manuals ever existed in my country unless i import a manual gearbox from eBay). I come from high cc motorcycles and a vw gol. This car is just something else. I always wanted an inline 6 but never expected to get one of the best ones ever made (lucky shot). The car has 160k kilometers and still pulls like silk. I only had to do the water pump and oil cooler gasket to enjoy this beast - suspension will come next year. I bought mine because I used to watch those yt videos of Georgie tezvadale doing street drifting in his m5 from 91, after coming to the conclusion I’ll never find one I found the next best thing.. the 02 530i still a i6 but with v8 numbers and an auto but still the most controllable car I’ve ever driven. I watched him in my early teens and now that I’m 30 ro I finally have one 😅 Drive safe and take care of each other!

I owned a E39 525i from new for four years: great car, beautiful inside and out. I then bought an E60 535d which I owned for 18 years: best car I ever had. If it were not for the diesel ban in our cities I would not have sold it.

God knows I've done a lot of stupid things in my life, but buying my R53 many years back is one of the better moves I've made.

You are totally right. I think my 530D will outlive me although we are the Same age. The only thing i could Imagine driving after that is E38. New cars are Made so inferior and Not nearly as durable.

My goal by 2030 is to have a 528i Touring 5at and 530i Saloon 5mt… best balance of the E39 to me… easy to work on, fun to drive, styled with intention and worthy collector car.

I an say from where I stand in your future 2024 the future looks very much like bankruptcy.... It never did make sense what was going on .... To electrify cars it would have needed more copper and tin than have been mined since the beginning of human history... and no car company was putting in forward contracts for that much minerals.. they just made press releases and phot ops and put there prices up for luxury evs costing 90.000 Now I see there plans never include making cars we could drive Just going bankrupt and with them the parts industry will die on mass and there will be no parts to keep your old 06 e90 on the road We will own nothing and be happy apparently

You can do fantastic tuning on the engine and suspension.this is a good base for a sport car
