I think people forget just how incredible this game was bac when it came out. Only other games that came close were stuff on the PC.

You got a sports truck and a kei car as randomized prize car early on, you're lucky that's very rare to get if you're doing a challenge run without buying a car

As a kid without internet when I rented with game from Blockbuster, I had a really hard time figuring out what. "slalom" was. By the time I figured it out I had a day left to return it.

DRIV THREE ERRR is my favorite of the 3 drivers. i don't know why. Even though 3 was the buggiest and incomplete, it was my favorite.

PS1 didnt have the glitchy sidewalks, dissapearing building interiors, or "boat popping in and out of existence". Frame-rates would drop but quickly come back without issue. I still have the first demo disc available from PSM(PlayStaion Magazine). I was obsessed with this game when I was little and was too poor to own a PS1, so had to bring the demo disc to my friends house. 60 seconds "Getaway" in Miami and you could get to a bridge and do the jump if you were fast enough.

Part two pls. I made some GameShark codes back in the day that gave the cars hydraulics. Depending on what buttons I held, it would adjust individual ride heights of each wheel. I had front, back, and side to side.

you know, there is secret cars each place like miami, nice and Istanbul in this game like example vw bus and gokart

It‘s one of the best games, don‘t care about what all the critics say. The moment Tanner got shot was so devastating back when I was not even 10 years old 🥹

Haven't seen this game in like 20 years, Loved it as a kid making my own little stunt arenas and getting frustrated trying to do missions!

So much reminds me of Destruction Derby and DD 2 on the Playstation.

I never got far in this version on xbox or the 360. 5th or 6th mission is where i quit also !!! if there is cheats I didn't have internet then !!! and this was the cheapest knock off of gta games !!! now if 343 studios back in the day would have made this alot better game !!! I say they should make a new one for todays people !!! since the game engines are better now !!! or remakes !!!

I'll never forget playing this game as a little kid. Right when it starts, I explored my house and thought it was so cool. I wanted to say hi to the neighbour at 0:48 just across the little alleyway. I walk into the backyard and this creepy looking dude in a pink shirt takes out a carbine and tries to kill me. I escaped but was also completely petrified and never wanted to return home.

This game was basically my Sims when I was a kid. I had a whole fake life on this game. I always wanted to be a cop growing up and I would live out that fantasy through Tanner. Good times

Easy way I've found for the beginning mission is burnout all the way to the opposite wall to get both burnout then speed and then slam on the brakes at the last possible second to get brake test, from there reverse until you're going fast enough for a reverse 180 and come to a rest, from there do a 360 but allow the car to swing around an additional 180 degrees to face back towards where you came from, go forward and complete the 180 then head for the nearest end pillar for the slalom before finishing with a lap. This method definitely isn't the fastest, but it can be done in 35 seconds if executed perfectly. I loved this game on ps1, the wonky physics when hitting the roof or underside of the cars gave me hours of fun, and the best map for taking advantage of this was undoubtedly San Francisco, and my perfect version of the game would be the pc version with the physics of the ps1 version, that would be an absolute riot.

i still remember the invincibility cheat code to this day. atop of this, san francisco was the best place to watch cop cars go flying through the air.

An unbelievably flawed game mired in controversy that, even if given the proper dev time, still probably would have been janky, but I love it. One of my favorites.

You should play the survivor mode of the Driver 1 and 2. Lots of destruction.

The atmosphere was amazing! Soundtrack, mood and ambience was great.

My dad plays this daily on a 85 inch tv and ridiculous home theater setup that I bought him and man it makes me feel like a child all over again every single time he does it

It's actually possible to unlock cheats without using a save file, it's just that the key combination is odd. For example, to unlock all cars, you have to press B G F4 K 5 5 P

Apart from the on foot sections i loved this game i would spend hours in free ride just cruising around

I don't recall ever beating this game but I did make it pretty far into the missions in Istanbul, had a tonne of fun with the free roam (take a ride) part of the game.

broo i felt that at 4:07 Driver sucks when it comes to saving. it forces you to complete at least three missions back to back weather you want to or not lol

Yeah for all the glitchy failings of Driv3r (I see you got to know the infuriatingly annoying curb collision physics), it's greatest sin is not keeping the car roof/underside pouncing glitch that worked so beautifully in Driver 1 and 2. For shame, Driv3r. For shame.

Man, I remember Driver 2 was one of my top PS1 favorite games. Fast forward to the PS2, still during the honeymoon phase of the new console, I saw this game and thought it would be a gift from the gods. I think this was my first major disappointment going into the next console gen. I just could not believe how wonky, broken and utterly boring this game was, comparing to other similar games like The Getaway, GTA Vice City and San Andreas. What an absolute turd this was.
