For people in California, EB Stone is fantastic, but for the rest of us, we need to use what we can get and add perlite, sand, pine bark earthworm castings, compost, etc. I looked high and low for EB stone and can't find it to purchase anywhere online or in store. Pitty, Im sure they would sell the heck out of it!

I gather Angel Red is soft seeded, and sweet with just a touch of tart. Does that sound right? Thinking I might have to get me one of them. I disagree about how big pomegranates get, though; I bet you could keep it down to medium bush size with regular pruning. Someone near me keeps his as a round mid-sized bush.

Hi, I bought a Mexican lime tree that was about 5 yrs old and transferred it into a half of a whiskey barrel and I put plenty of drainage holes in the bottom. It was flowering when I bought it and. It dropped all the flowers and never produced fruit but it looks very healthy and full of foliage. I live in Mesa, Arizona. Do you know what I can do to make it produce fruit or should I expect it to flower again this fall or winter? I don’t know what the fruiting cycle is like for this tree.

I own two key lime plants where one of them is thornless. Both grew in a soft pot, and did well. However, I transplanted the thornless key lime into the composted red-clay soil, and it took off like crazy growing to height of 9 feet with a width of 6 feet. I'm able to harvest around 4-5 dozen key limes every month and a half. I find that if I keep harvesting the key limes, then the plant is stimulated to grow more and more. It is constantly flowering. I didn't realize how much this tree loves being in the ground. I live in middle Georgia, Zone 8b.

The reason that soil is dry is because most people use potting soil which consists of things that is not supposed to be underground where the roots are. Those things in potting soil should be above the soil. The proper soil to be used should be sand. The roots won't be deficient of nutrients because the roots create there own micro rhizome. As long as you have good mulch on top like leaves and maybe broken up seeds. Or compost above the soil. That will be food for the microbial life that lives in the soil. The roots cannot uptake any of the potting soil material. It first have to be broken down by micro biology. So if you use sand. You will never have this problem in containers and you can never over water your plants because there will be no decaying matter in your soil that can rot the roots. I'm not talking about construction sand but rather if you look in your yard. That sand under your grass. That soil is the best. Potting soil has bark and many other things in that when it becomes dry then it repels water. Also potting soil has things in it that when over watered it clumps up and smothers your roots so then it cannot breathe and that's why the roots rot when over watered. So sand soil is amazing and the natural way. If you want to introduce microbial life in the soil then you use a weed tea or maybe a cup of compost and just mix it I the sand. But that's all you need. No need for buying expensive potting soils that just does more harm to your plants. It's a money making gimmick. I've got many trees growing in containers and every tree I plant I use sand. Everything I grow from seed grows huge in like 3 to 4 years. Many of my seedlings is already flowering in containers which people will say is impossible for a seedling in containers in only about 3 years. My seedlings are not fruiting yet but flowering. They are bushy and lush. And different varieties all with the same sand soil. It's amazing and exactly the same as putting your trees in the ground. ❤ Just thought I'd share this🙂

That was nice size of fruit you have for nectarines that grow in containers. i don't know if I missed anything, but your video would be more informative had you mentioned what varieties of nectarines you grow. How many varieties, white or yellow flesh? How sweet are they comparing to the ones in the market? How many gallon pots? How long you grow from start to the first fruit bearing? What colors of the flower, pink, white or red? How long do they bear fruits, fertilizing, etc ? .... many things you can give out instead of just picking the fruits from start to the end... I was looking to comparing the nectarines/ peaches varieties to choose what to buy ( I already have 3 ready to plant in the ground 2 are donut peaches and one is red baron. I'm planning to buy snow queen nectarine and artic star, indian free peaches.) Best wishes.

I have one at home. I've had it for at least 2 years. It's not as big as yours, could be because I don't keep it in a pot as large as your pot. See, I live in NYC, and I keep it on my window. It does get a lot of sun and I use fertilizer, but still not that big. It has gotten long [maybe about two feet long], but it doesn't branch out much. It's basically a long stick. I don't harvest the leaves.
