Great video. Pen and paper usually gives me clarity not just for pseudo code but sometimes I write the actual code in pen and paper, as jumping straight to the laptop at times leaves my head spinning if it's a more challenging problem I'm trying to solve.

To your knowledge, is there something like a curation platform that lists all the avialable tools for a certain type of analysis? I often find ich difficult to know what exactly to do with my data if it´s not commonly depected in papers (sth. beyond PCAs, Heatmaps e.g.).

@@hozifaelgadal623 I was actually joking lol. But if you want to get a data science job. There are google and IBM online courses that take like 3-6 months.. Take them with a grain of salt though, because no online course or yearly course beats a university degree. Also, I can’t tell you about actual salary expectations because that’s not easy to find online, I can just say that it will definitely always be lower than those who have a degree.

postdocs are so scary because you get paid as much as a janitor with no extra social security/benefits. You're basically a plumber. to make things worse at this time of your life you also have to take care of your family and multiple children to feed. it's a disaster.

RAM is essential for alignments and assemblies. Getting a large hard drive is important for the stated reasons in the video. Apple is a good direction but you can get something like a Dell XPS with 64GB RAM and 4TB drive for less. If you go that route then you would be installing LINUX (Ubuntu is bioinformatics friendly). I use Apple but am considering the Dell.
