    What about oppurtunities after a masters in bioinformatics?

    this was a great video, I always found looking at bioinformatics jobs as a daunting task but you've broken it down well. I was wondering though, what did you study for your master's degree?

    Dude, outside of major cities like Philly or Boston etc, it is much cheaper to live in America than Europe and we get paid like double

    Hey man. It was a great video. But can you make a video for undergrad students persuing Bioinformatics. This is because you might have experience working with undergrad students. What should we do about that? What can we do after this. Job or masters?

      i would rather worry about if you have to do a phd before getting a decent job - ofc you need a MSc, MINIMUM!!

      Yeah I have enrolled at Associate Degree in Bioinformatics. And wondering what will be the future outcomes after completion of the course? Please share your views and answer about the future prospects after completing 2 years of Associate Degree.
      Thank You!

      @@safvanmirza6052How was it . I just finished school so I want to study bio informatics, only to find out it isn't a undergraduate course. So what are the courses you think I might do for me to later learn it as a postgraduate

    Thanks for this video!
    I am currently at the crossroads of deciding whether I should get a master's or a PhD in Bioinformatics. (I am currently enrolled in a bachelor's in Bioengineering).
    Would love to have your opinion on a similar comparison for jobs after a master's..

    Not sure making $65,000 with a phd is considered good.

      In today market seems like I’m competing with phd’s for technician jobs making $45k 😂 but to be fair if you’re trying to work in academia this is just standard, you have to abuse yourself and under value yourself for a decade before getting a job that’s still less than you’re worth

    • @Po0pypoopy
      @Po0pypoopy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is the normal pay
      Welcome to Academia buddy 😂😂😂😂😂
      You actually start a little lower because you need to be a post-doc for a few years for training before you become an independent PhD
      That is why nobody likes Academia and leave for industry

      @@jimmyhart3191 yea, it predominantly Chinese and Indian in academia and egos run SUPER high….a lot like to make you feel inferior intellectually. Who would want to be severely underpaid to solve humanity’s problems? Pfffff not me

    Is there any scope for people with masters degrees in computer science but not necessarily bioinformatics

    Hi!
    I have a master in Molecular Biology and have many years of experience in lab but I don't wanna do that not more. I started learning python, and command line and now I'll be transitioning to R but at the same time I'm taking an online bioinformatics course... but when I comes to work on a project and partnering with others... what are the moves I should do?? And also, do I have to pursue a PhD??
    Thank you!!

    • @Po0pypoopy
      @Po0pypoopy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am the same position as you
      After 2 years ….I realized a masters is the only solution to getting a quick and easy opportunity. NOBODY will value you because a silly degree is worth more than your projects.
      you could get very lucky and be hired as a severely underpaid lab rat at a research lab but don’t ever expect to make it into industry with just a bachelors, if you are pursuing a bioinformatics job that is

      @@hozifaelgadal623 I was actually joking lol. But if you want to get a data science job. There are google and IBM online courses that take like 3-6 months.. Take them with a grain of salt though, because no online course or yearly course beats a university degree. Also, I can’t tell you about actual salary expectations because that’s not easy to find online, I can just say that it will definitely always be lower than those who have a degree.
