Welcome Customer Brought his 2008 E91 330d stage 3 for valve spring upgrade. Usual complaint of black smoke and struggle to hold boost in higher rpm. Thanks for the great video, is it really necessary to change all 24 or just the exhaust ones would do the job?
@@MustAccord not yet tested just exhaust one alone. There is no downside to replacing intake ones also aside from price.
Does the car needs a retune after a spring upgrade?
@@kikofus807 No, but ideally yes as more power can be squeezed out with upgraded springs.

Good job nice answer ! Do you think for a guy like me? It’s not so hard to change segment on the Pistons because I easily approaching the 340000kms on stage 3 470ps machine I want to do that and I want to do too the timing chain completely

As a car mechanic i have to say the om606 is better to work on and tune but the m57 is also a beast. For power id go with the 606 as well as for sound but if you want a tourque beast that doesnt sound bad with just a little less power use the m57

Hi Your best option is to contact Gkr Performance, he is local to you. I no longer live/work in Uk.
what thermostat did you use for the oilcooler ? - and what oil temperatures do you see ?
I fitted Mishimoto oil stat , 80*c-70*c and it operates in that range, depending on driving style, but decent size cooler is also good buy.
@@NENTECHM57 nice! . does the thermostat bypass the cooler, when below operation temperature ?.. otherwise the thermostat would act like a plug in the oilfeed system ? or am I getting something wrong
@@pastasalaten it bypasses oil cooler like %80 when below 80*c , some still circulate, but you always get flow back to engine, there is no such restriction to affect oil pressure to engine.

How are exhaust manifold pressures at max boost. I have same turbo goin on 3.0tdi. Im curious great times good work
On M57 there is no exhaust manifold pressure sensor, so not able to monitor that. Looking at egt it is all in very safe rage, believe it or not, it’s running lower egt compared to Ts2872 at 2.5 bar and 410bhp.

Realy valves springs can make that sounds? Whay its happen like that? Its also can smoke bad?
It shuts valves quicker is my only answer, all of them i done sound sharper afterwards. Less smoke with stiffer springs.
I would appreciate one more reply and last one. Valve springs can start to be weak and cause engine detonation sound?
@@user-pb8wb7lt1d yes they get weak over the time, not sure what you mean by engine detonation. But stock springs on high mileage cars that are tuned tend to cause issues
OM605 for sound, OM606 for tunability and M57 for all round performance! Audi 4.2tdi for lets burn this house down!

Why didnt swap direct to 8hp ? 6hp28 will Not last Long if you Push the car up to 500hp
Cost, this transmission came with the car and even if i need to rebuild it, it will still cost a quarter of the price of 8hp swap.

I have M57 E90 but om606 is truly a diesel 2JZ
It would be great if it wasn’t dated and had new injection system. If you don’t mind turbo lag, smoke and higher fuel consumption it is ok
What is the cheapest drop in single turbo (changing one of the two ) or set of turbos for good power gain? Already have r90 pump
There is not such a thing as cheap turbo for good power gain. You can get cheap ebay hybrid for £500-£600 but gain 20-30 bhp or get Turbosystems one for £1200 and have over 400bhp, depending what one you get

Many reasons, but in short: Dual pump kit only 35d 6hp28 gearbox comes with it Stronger internals
@@NENTECHM57 i have a 530xd with 6 speed manual same turbo htd3073bb making 468, 943nm and the cp3 r90 fuel regulating valve only modified
@@NENTECHM57 only reason i bought 30d over 35d is i got it with manual gearbox and good accessories, didnt know the motors different that much from the lci 235hp version expect the turbos

Strong comeback man! Excited to see how it will perform after remap! I'm almost done with my m57 build and it has a lot of similarities to yours like dual hpfp, TS stage 3, 6hp28 and many others . I'm excited to get back behind the wheel, it's been a while! To the moon!
What size threaded cooling port,i cant find, i want to do on mine?
25mm is hole, so need to thread in fitting.
how did you connect solenoid on second pump?
It’s all part of the kit, there is a wiring that comes in it.

We have some tuners in France whom made that. From what they said, the've seen alot of improvements over the bi-turbo setup. Lower egt's, better tuning, better logs... Alot of custom job is required tho. Looking forward your build 🎉

You are a pioneer on these engines. Love your work. I have a B57 X3 and NO-ONE has a intercooler upgrade this car. So patiently waiting for someone to build one.

What is your opinion on manual box on such power level?
Manual is ok up to 400bhp, auto rwd is ok up to 500bhp , over that you want awd/8hp conversion. There is too much torque and bit of turbo lag, auto just transfer it smoothly, manual makes it slower, not to mention dmf and clutch problems on that power level. Auto almost makes it drive like stock

1.4 tsi vw is one option. There are blue and red versions, blue is bit softer, red is stiffer

Only way to get over 500bhp, Fyi £5000 wasn’t just a bracket
