Customer Brought his 2008 E91 330d stage 3 for valve spring upgrade.
Usual complaint of black smoke and struggle to hold boost in higher rpm.
Quite aggressive tune plus high mileage didn't help, but massive improvement over stock springs that are known issue on M57 engines when limits are pushed.
Just a set of Injectors and good tune and another great example for fun daily diesel that can put smile on your face and return 40mpg

What is the max boost on the stock valve springs, i have 1 series swapped with 35d engine and manual Gearbox, currently had 2.8bar boost with old tune, new one has 2.6bar on stock turbos
@@jerolehmuskoski5108 Probably about there, 2.5-2.7 depending on setup/30d or 35d what turbos ect

@@kikofus807 No, but ideally yes as more power can be squeezed out with upgraded springs.
Hey Nen Tech quick query regards your Stage 3 Garrett 3073 from Turbo Systems, did they take long to deliver the turbo?

nice work, if you change to the upgraded valve springs do you need a remap?
It’s not necessary, but if would benefit from remap as more power can be made due better control of gases.

Bto, similar springs are installed on ford focus 2 1.6. 1.8
no timing tools needed? or to lock the timing in place? i want to do this on my 535d but im unsure if the valves will go down into the pistons
Camshafts are removed so will need to be timed up correctly, use Tdc to keep valves in place.
So you rotate the engine when cams is off to keep piston up so valves dont fall down yes?
