I'll have a yearly watch of the '98 film I have on DVD. I grew up watching my mom's VHS recording of the show. I have a love for this show, I know the songs, I know that cats. And it's so painfully frustrating how so many people now think of the terrible movie when they think of Cats now - people who've never even seen the show. And have this incredulous judgment of liking something so bad and off putting just because of how the movie turned out. I love videos that explain the differences between the two versions of it, instead of just tearing down the movie with 'what a weird thing to have made a movie about at all, no wonder if failed'. It helps a lot to have people who truly know and love the stage production give their input and insight instead of the onslaught of samey videos that came out after the movie. Especially when the videos with actual insight highlight how gay my boy Mister Mistoffelees is with Tugger.

In fairness, Cats is so bafflingly bad that it was fun. I watched it the same day I saw Rise of Skywalker and I genuinely enjoyed Cats more.

The fact that he realized the meaning of true love by seeing elderly gay men 5 seasons before coming to terms with his sexuality was so so beautiful of an inclusion I will always appreciate.

It's SO important to have "surprise" queer characters who weren't telegraphed in a way that audience's could prepare for/subconsciously or consciously distance themselves from relating to. And to have him be so masculine and a main character and fan favorite too.

I loved so much how they portrayed the simple experience of "something missing" for so many years. It humanized it so much too non-queer people I feel like to put in such terms of desiring "ease" with nothing working until he finally felt "free" when he realized he was queer.

Honestly when i was watching the series it looked like April was swinging more towards Casey than D but even if i can see your point about her not beeing manipulative i kinda don't like how it has made been look like she still kinda toys with his emotions, like she has never given any cheek kisses to anyone else but D. I do think it makes sense that people view this versionon of April as manipulative, like from my perspective giving false hopes (by beeing affectionate with them) to your friend that has crush on you is worse than straight up rejecting them and letting them move on (even not rejecting them but putting a bit of distance between them is better) Having said that i have never teally tought about the way that April's character was just inheritly written wrong that made her all about the people who found her attractive. I really like the way you are displaying and explaining facts and things that happened in the series and also focusing on multiple versions of tmt. Mona is not a lizard or reptile, salamander from where the name of the alien species comes from amphibians like frogs. (just putting it out there)

I'm a bisexual man discovering his bisexuality in my 30s.

There is this main character in fear the walking dead, a spin off, called Alicia Clark that was supposed to be bisexual, confirmed to be even, and originally was supposed to get together with another character called Ofelia. They ended up not going through with it, which is saddening, they would've been great together and they never touched on Alicia's bisexuality, only having her with two men in the entire show, season 1 and 3, she was in all 8 seasons.

There were two dancing cats in the original Lady and The Tramp. If they are not a good argument for not having an animated Cats I don’t know what is.

After this film, I had a dream in which me and my sister were going to a quadruple wedding of Turtles. I met ralph and mone in front of the church, the mona had a beautiful black dress, and ralph had a lovely yellow robe, (I think she came from planet of mony liza) which looked like a dress, Me, my sister, ralph and mona had matching clothes. Idk why everyone makes gayness a big deal in a show about cats. Cats aren't gay. Humans are gay and humans play cats in the production, but actual cats aren't gay so I don't even know why it needs to be part of the storyline, even if it's subtle. And if it has to be a thing to appease gay humans, then we would have to overlook that any part of any of these characters represents an actual cat, and at that point the name of the show is kind of pointless. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think the reason there was a love triangle/so much love drama forced into TMNT2012 is because at the time Nickelodeon realized that most of their teen audiences tended to watch the shows for shipping purposes, later on when they began moving away from older audiences and instead wanted to capture a REALLY young audience, several shows started having less and less romance and much less romantic drama (example, Rise) because cooties are gross to toddlers

I remember watching 2003 version as a kid and even then when I was playing with ninja turtle action figures and I legit could not imagine Leo having a romance with a girl. Like I was deciding which turtle should get together with a barbie and Leo wasn't even in the conversation. I had no idea what gay was and somehow I still thought "nah, Leo wouldn't be into women." I vividly remember thinking that.

I am so happy that this show has started to get more respect from people in recent years. I randomly stumbled upon this show a decade ago and watched it online. I thought it was decent and enjoyable enough then I forgot about it for years. In the past year, I found videos talking about the show, making me aware of the hate this show got. I could not believe the levels of hate this show received from fans and WB themselves! I admit the premise was a bit out there but that is just insane to me. I am fully aware this show is not perfect or even a hidden gem but it’s at least an entertaining ride. I don’t expect this show to ever receive any kind of continuation or reboot, but I hope more people discover this show and judge it on their own.

See hear is the problem with Ralphel and Mona when the stupid cockroach force Mona to betray now I think forgiveness can go along way, but still when they were holding off the insects Mona told him that she loves him it doesn’t make any sense how you just forgive someone that easily just because they say they love you and how can you fall in love with someone that you don’t even know for a year you barely even know them

I am not saying that it is not but i'm genuinely wondering : In this case, what is the difference between queerbaiting and just people who can not comprehend a (very) strong friendship between two heterosexual men ? (i know that buck is not but at the time we could think so) I always found it weird because the sexualisation of the situation is coming from the viewers who just can't accept that this close of a friendship between two men could be just that. I'm really curious to know anyone's opinion (in a respectfull way please i'm weak xD), and I hope that it was understandable.

31:18 It was only a problem whenever they still hinted at the idea post reveal. Prior to the reveal I think they're borderline romantic interactions is fine despite the new incest undertones because hey they didn't know at the time. Meanwhile post reveal could have shifted them into a brother sister dynamic. To their credit when Leo learns the truth it's clear his goal to save Karai is rooted in that she's family now not because he's got a thing for her and would rather be on the same side.

I prefer the TMNT x Sailor Moon crossover pairings myself (don't call me out for it, I've seen much worse & not every shipping has to include mental images with your minds in the gutter 🙄).
