This might just be me but because Kara/Brainy isn't really set up as a romantic storyline on the show (missed opportunity!) and because the characters just get along so well on the show... No one really has big negative emotions about the pairing? People are either neutral or supportive of it.
I agree with everything you said, 100%. If the CW wasn't so set on having tall, jacked men for Kara (or unnecessary romantic drama in a SUPERHERO show), we could have had the ultimate power couple in Brainy/Kara.
My preferred couplings for Kara are: 1.) Kara and therapy 2.) Kara and Lena (in therapy) 3.) Kara and James 4.) Kara and Brainy James and Kara definitely made the most sense of the canon guys, and I liked their chemistry and the fact that they respected and supported each other. But no, because as you said, the writers went the racist route. Also, I love Brainy and prior to this video hadn’t really considered him with Kara. I was happy with him with Nia because of their chemistry (and pretty much ignored their clunky relationship). But I agree with you, they’re supportive of each other, they can relate with feeling out of place, and their both sweethearts so I’d be fine with Kara and Brainy.
Girl GIRLLLL GODDDDDDD YOU HAVE MY HEART, I didn’t think you’d go on a karadox rant but u did and my god, I loved it (bcus omg I’m so glad I’m not the only one that was rooting for them but then the writers made it clear they would never consider putting them together 😭) One of the most wasted opportunities to give Kara a better romance (one that could have been comic adjacent!) but like, it’s the CW what did I expect lol
An unproblematic romance on CW? If only that were ever possible. When I started watching Supergirl when s1 was airing I had nothing against the possibility of Kara and James getting together by the end of s1. But I will never forgive the writers for just ending that storyline the way that they did. You can't just drop a one-season-long storyline in the first episode of the next season like that. I kinda stopped caring about the show at that point because that felt like a slap in the face. The least they could've done is to write it in a semi-plausible way but they just kinda went like: nah. I stopped watching at that point and god dragged back in when Brainy was introduced. He's so adorkable! And karadox is a missed opportunity.
To add to my previous comment: it's not like karadox doesn't have potential for drama. It's just not drama because their personalities clash. The whole coluan storyline would be a treasure trove of a storyline as far as I can tell (I've only a limited knowledge, mostly based on the DC animated universe, Krypton and every other Superman comicbook. I've never really dived deep into the Superman lore itself). I write this as I am rewatching 4x21 and Brainy just rebooted.
@@Nightseer Literally in Brainy's first appearance in the comics, Kara is wary of him because he's a descendant of Brainiac, one of Superman's most famous enemies. They literally mention him as the reason Brainy needs to stay in the past, and they have yet to resolve this plot. This would be great conflict for their relationship, and would just be a great overall storyline for the show. But noooo. The writers just come up with weird stuff that is confusing for the audience and doesn't make any sense. I still don't know what Leviathan's end goal was!
@@rabnerd28 I remember Brainiac (or rather his relatives) being mentioned in the season 3 finale and I had hoped that Brainiac might make an appearance in one of the next seasons. I had actually hoped that Brainiac might turn out to be the main villain of the final season (I dunno, maybe it was this season's poster or something that gave me hope). But I don't that they'll have the time because as far as I can tell there was nothing in the current season that hinted at Brainiac in any way. I only remember Brainiac from the Krypton tv show and one DCAU film, I think? While watching Krypton the bottle episode aired and in my mind, I was like: Oh, pleassssseeee! GIVE US BRAINIAC ON SUPERGIRL! Wasn't there are storyline in one of the other dc media in which Brainiac bottled a planet or city with Kara's family or something? It's been so long... I just feel so saddened by the fact that they could have easily introduced Brainiac in the current season instead of introducing new characters as possible main antagonists. I'd also like to add that I found it so adorable and sweet that Kara really enjoyed the ridiculous amounts of food that Brainy sent Nia to show her his affection. She took full advantage of the food supply xDD;
Final comment: I’m subscribing to u right now and also I’d love if you made a video about legion of superheroes (the main reason I even got into supergirl bcus I read Brainy showed up in s3)! Anyway, great vid, 10/10 contenttttt
Supergirl was truly one the shows ever made It says a lot when the most memorable thing about it was Tyler Hoechlin (even if he was underuse in the show)

In the list of things involving the Legion that I will not stop being mad about is Imras outfit. Why would they make it so dark? Let her have her pink outfit!
@@rabnerd28 yesss!! I'm kinda sad they spent that season with dark outfits and until season 5 they gave Brainy a good purple hero outfit (Also, Imra didn't even have telepathic powers!!! smh forever mad about the writing choices lol...)
It basically just comes across as them not knowing *how* to write a love interest for Kara. They just kind of throw a bunch of bullshit together when it could have been sooooo easy. So much wasted potential.
that's it with the writers really - i don't mind if it's not comics accurate but like, pick one up sometime! at least let us know you've read them. there's so many amazing stories to pull from and some of the choices are just down right insulting.
Like alex want a child then Sam came on the show with her kid . Kara and Lena are so in love with her other like how they look at each other and other stuff Winn and mon el how they act and look at each other.
Alex want a child then here comes Sam on the screen with a child . Kara and Lena at each other’s every episode like they in love and how they act how Kara didn’t know what job to get and Lena told her she should be a reporter and how the story is like superman and lois . Winn and mon el look at each other like they in-loved and how they act around each other.
Can I just say that you are the first gay TH-camr I've watched that didn't talk about Supercorp! Let alone ship them. I don't ship them either! I never saw them as a couple even after reading comment sections. Especially after all the things Lena did to Kara. But there are other reasons why I don't ship them and why the writers needed to stop queerbaiting its viewers; neither of them have been written as queer in the comics or any other media. Mainly because they never had a reason to be written as anything more than that. And despite all of that, they're desperate for ratings and will take as much advantage of this fanship. Which is disrespectful to the characters' creators AND the viewers. Changing a character's sexuality or race or gender never really sat right with me. There are some exceptions that I would accept on "changing" a character's sexuality 1. The characters' creators give the writers permission. They're dead now so maybe someone who knew them personally have told them they would've given the writers permission. 2. Create alternate versions of the characters. Like dopplegangers from other dimensions like Citizen Cold from Crisis on Earth X. Or clones raised in different societies like Cosima from Orphan Black 3. Create your own version of the character with a different name. I.e: Arrow adapting Curtis Holt, a gay man, rather than introducing the already created Michael Holt 4. The characters' sexual orientation has never been brought up even by the creators. If these exceptions were made, I'd be fine with Supercorp being canon. If you ship them, that's great. If they helped you explore and accept your sexuality, also great! If you draw fan art or write fanfic, that's also great! But don't demand people into doing what they don't want to do even if what they ARE doing is stupid. Who knows? Maybe Kara and Lena's creators wanted to develop their characters even further but couldn't because of the time periods they lived during their lifetimes. And unless someone who knew them has told them they would've wanted them to be queer or just don't care either way, maybe they'd be a couple. But right now, I'm happy they remain friends. I haven't rewatched Supergirl or any of the Arrowverse shows since they aired but I don't think this show is as bad as Friendly Space Ninja made it out to be, especially in his Supergirl video. Saying that Melissa Benoist is the only good thing about the show. I love watching him but what the hell? I was also watching the Mothership podcast and Dylan aka Friendly Space Ninja believes that they made their version of Supergirl lame, mainly for making her a female Superman. Personally, I don't even hate that idea. They could have her go in a different route following Clark's footsteps but not exactly succeeding in it entirely. I never read the comics or rewatched the entire series, but he was disappointed The New 52 reboot version of her which is an angrier brutal version of her, which, yeah, that would've been cool but I don't know how far they would've gone with the special effects. Another guy in the podcast suggested they should've given the Snyder treatment to her instead of Superman with her New 52. I honestly never hated this show but I can understand why people like Friendly Space Ninja do. From making a comic book character boring, nerfing them, some of its CGI and dialogue and the amount of times they preach social justice in storylines that don't belong. Again, I never read the comics, but I agree the show has a lot of issues. But this show more than makes up for it with likable main characters, great worldbuilding, great villains like Reign and Lex Luthor and half the time they can tell a great social justice storyline. While I agree that the show didn't have a great start from the first and second seasons and slowly dipped in quality after Crisis on Infinite Earths, I can tell you that the third and fourth seasons are the best this show had to offer. I'm not gonna defend this show for its' genuine problems but I will attack you if you say this show had no redeemable qualities. I actually love Friendly Space Ninja and he's not wrong about some of the show's shortcomings, but he WAS wrong to say that Melissa Benoist was the only good thing about the show. He gave up on the show after watching the second episode of the third season. How would he know if she's the only good thing about it? He may hate this version of Kara and I will admit her comic book counterpart is a lot more interesting and wished that personality was explored on the show. But that doesn't make me hate this version of Kara at all. Also he claimed Queen Rhea tried to destroy the Earth because she was mad that her son and Kara were dating. She was mad because she traveled around space for years searching for her son only for him to reject her and date a Kryptonian. Worse, Earth worships TWO Kryptonians, a race of people who laid waste to her home planet because it was in close proximity to their self destruction. I get you don't like the show, but the least you could do is be a bit informed about the show's writing. Despite that, I agree the show had so much wasted potential and I would've loved to see Kara and Brainiac 5 together! Brainy and Nia are fine and I like Nia as a character, but the opportunities were right there! Before Nia showed up! It would've been even better if the OG Brainiac showed up as the final season villain instead of Mr Mxlyptlk's ex (I already forgot her name) controlling our Brainiac into killing his friends and fighting it when he remembers his love for Kara. And ending it with a double wedding between them and Alex and Kelly! And remember the Genesis Chamber from Man of Steel or the Krypton TV show? I'd love to see Alex and Kelly use it to make a baby like Alex wanted along with Esme! I think the show slowly evolved to be even better than before in the third, fourth, and most or half of the fifth season before it got bad again when it started to end. But now that the Arrowverse is probably ending, I wanted to talk about the better parts of the franchise instead of kicking the dead horse.
It's so strange that jenna dewan hasn't shown up in superman and lois yet they still have not even mentioned her I also didn't like mon el and kara got together that quickly and I also didn't like William with kara either
@@rabnerd28 plus jenna would have to either leave her kids in California where they live or take them with her and live there months at a time she shares custody with her ex husband so that would also be very difficult 🤔
