Hi, This is very relatable, people's coddling and infantilizing of traumatized or mentally ill characters can be very annoying. Scanlan from C1 is a perfect example that I could write you a short essay on but I won't because I don't want to bore you. ;) Sad to hear you're not into CR anymore, any particular reason or just because they're 4+ hours long a piece lol. I actually was led here by your Fjord and Cad compilations which I really enjoyed and I was wondering If you were going to ever continue them or do anything else. I suppose I have my answer now. :( oh well. (Even if I didn't ship it, (My gaydar had pinged Cad as Ace pretty quickly), I really appreciated your compilation as a reminder of their friendship and Fjords growing fascination and respect for Caduceus and the Wildmother and his guidance.) C3 is great so far. The characters are a breath of fresh air so far, much less competitive angst, and some very interesting backstory elements. (I love the M9 but boy were they a bunch of douchebags most of the time lol, Except for Cad and Yasha and maybe Caleb).
@@rabnerd28 Yeah, It harkens back to stuff that got lost from C1, like treating NPC's like real people again rather than opportunities for comedic skits for Sam and Laura. #Chaos Crew started to grate a bit towards the end, even though I love them. I think staying in one place for a while is making that a bit easier. I like C2 a lot but I have a feeling you suffer from similar frustrations about the lack of accountability they held each other to. One of my biggest gripes is the infantilization of Jester and the failure to realize that she and the Traveler are VERY similar and the only reason they still dislike him and love her after he proved he had no sinister intentions (Towards Her) is pure dickishness and a lack of recognizing Jester's own flaws and occasional borderline sociopathic tendencies. Another was their treatment of Eadwulf and Astrid, clearly victims of horrific treatment and brainwashing, unable to escape like their friend. The lack of empathy really grated on me to the very end. Even if they don't feel it, it's clearly important to your friend Caleb, so maybe fake it a little you assholes! (Plus instantly thinking Astrid betrayed them when the obvious conclusion was that they didn't do what she told them to do and suck at stealth, very frustrating.) Beau shouting at Eadwulf for no reason in the finale really cemented why I disliked that character, even though I was proud of how much she had grown, she has a LOT further to go. Treating victims like it's their responsibility to take down the people who hurt them really pisses me off, she did it to Caleb too. As a group they also rarely listened to Caduceus's feelings as well because he was so quiet and not pushy and that was very frustrating as well. #Chaos Crew got a bit Tramply on occasion, (Not on purpose). But I think they got a bit too into "My character would do this." Navel gazing sometimes in C2 because they put so much more effort in to their characters this time around and it was a little too complicated for them in addition to how complicated Matt's world is.

I'm slowly watching CR3. It is much more enjoyable than CR2.
