Late to this party but I have to say I loved your reactions throughout this. I'm a 53 year old married dude about the same size as Michael Duncan and I have lost count of how many times I've seen this. Only problem is I have to watch it alone because I sob like a little baby. BTW, I love the big tattoo!

Marty calls the homeless guy at the end "Rhett." Rhett Thomas was mayor in 1955. "Orgy American Style" was an adult movie showing in a (presumably adult) theater. When Marty returns to 1985, it is an Assembly of God.

I went to the theaters to watch the re-release of this a few months back and was very impressed by the quality. The picture was big and crystal clear, and there were 2 things that really stood out to me. First was the on-screen image. I have seen Alien countless times but on the big screen there was more image than anything I have seen on TV, streaming or Blu Ray. The image wasn't stretched, there was actually things that could be seen to the left and right sides that are not visible in other formats. There were even a few times when certain characters were on the edges of the screen who are not visible in other formats, I was surprised. Second was the audio. It was so clear and crisp, very easy to hear without being overly-loud. I could clearly make out all of the subtle remarks and comments characters were making under their breath, again it was very impressive. I can remember thinking on more than one occasion, "oh that's what they said right there." A true classic, can't wait for your reaction to Aliens which is just another in a long line of Cameron masterpieces.

Some lighter classics, which fall outside the theme of your channel, is Wargames (1983), My Stepmother Is An Alien (1988), The Fifth Element (1997), What Planet Are You From (2000). A musical period piece which would get no views is How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1967). Clint Eastwood did a trilogy with a lot of gun violence: The Good The Bad The Ugly, For a Few Dollars More, and A Fistful of Dollars (not so good).

Actually, neither of the Terminators are true cyborgs. Yes, Arnie has living tissue, but he can function perfectly well without it. With a true cyborg the flesh cant exist without the machine and vice-versa. The T-1000 has no organic material at all. Technically they are androids. Machines that look human. By the way, they all suck after this one.

It was very sweet when you asked if we had sent a probe into a black hole! Our galaxy actually has a black hole at the center! The Milky Way is about 100,000 light years across, and we are about 28,000 light years from the middle. Voyager 1 is the furthest probe we’ve ever sent out and it’s not even 1 light day away (about 21 light hours!)

I sometimes think about what Tom Hanks said, about standing before God and having to explain why he killed one of his true miracles. 2 1/2 years ago I had to do that very thing when I told Doctors to turn off my wife's machines and let nature take its course. She made me promise when we first met that when her cancer got to a point where she was unable to speak or act on her behalf that I would honor her wishes and stop the suffering. But when my time comes, I sometimes think "I love her and I made her a promise" is not going to be enough.

Due to a noticeable height difference between the two main actors, various camera tricks were used to hide that fact. For instance, one actor would be bending down for some reason, and the other would be standing straight. Or sometimes, something like an over-the-shoulder shot was used. Another example was when they were on the street, the shot was taken looking down the road. One actor was close to the camera, while the other was farther down the street, then later they would switch positions. 41:15 into the video would better explain it.

John Coffey is one of the most powerful "Shiners" in the Stephen King Multiverse. Some other notable Shiners are Carrie, Charlie from Firestarter, Dan from The Shining, and Dan, Abra, and the True Knot from Doctor Sleep. Doctor Sleep is the sequel to the Shining and the director's cut is one of my top 3 favorite horror movies of all time. Also an emotional rollercoaster but not near as gut punching as this.

One thing I only just realized the movie glossed over is how great Amelia's heartbreak must be when she finally makes it to Edmunds' planet. Remember - due to the lack of contact and time dilation, by the time she's out of Gargantua's gravity well she has no idea if any human beings are still alive on Earth, and all her crewmates are gone. The _only_ other human being she knows of that might still be alive is Wolf Edmunds, her lover - but after what was probably a few years alone of just limping there in a wrecked spacecraft, she only finds his body inside a deserted wreck. From her perspective, she is the last of us, stranded on the far side of the universe. With the frozen embryos and her faithful AI at her side, she has become Eve. Thankfully, a new Adam rejoined her in only a few more years (and that reawakening would have put Mann's to shame).

The way Sarah chewed out John for coming to rescue her from the mental institution, it set up the later bookend where Sarah was so grateful that he’d come to stop her from killing Miles Dyson. Then she repeated Reese’s words to her, “I love you John, and I always have.” And he answered, “I know,” and hugged her. That scene perfectly resolved a dilemma behind all of John’s resentments of his upbringing: Did she really love him as her son, or just as a responsibility she had to train the future savior of humanity? Here we saw their love reaffirmed, as mother and son.
