Lies of P Critique - More Than Just Influence
Lies of P is a game that takes a lot of heavy influence from the Soulsborne series, a lot of ideas and mechanics are lifted from those games and implement into it, however the game also introduces a lot of new fresh ideas that make it stand out amongst other souls-likes, so many interesting things to the point Lies of P is able to stand on its own two feet and become more than just influence.
So lets look at it and dig into what makes it so special.

    "ladies way older then him" are u stupid he himself is over 70. You are kinda blind to the little nuances that really inform the informed about the bits of info that changes their perspective.

    you lack an understanding of characteristic nuances and conclude that he is a "villain" because everyone turned on him in the end. To compare thanos to soldier boy is shallow and not well thought out.

    Admit it, when you guys were first introduced to Rust Cohle, you think the guy is a mental case. Later you grow to love this crazy dude. I have not find a better word to describe his negative side. We all know the character development completely describe that he didn't care the way he live is practically throwing his life away (sleepless, binge smoking, binge drinking, using drug) and we know that he really had a bad life (career, family, etc.)

    I want to point out that it's not necessarily that Nietzsche literally BELIEVED in the reality of eternal recurrence ("time is a flat circle"), but that he presented it as a thought experiment-a sort of call to live your life and to treasure life AS THOUGH you would be forced to repeat it infinitely many times. There is another way of understanding that idea that is less metaphysically questionable than the literal interpretation, and may be more relevant to True Detective's themes. It's not that that exact girl and boy will find themselves in that exact room again and again, it's that events LIKE that-these same SORTS of horrific crimes-will happen over and over, no matter how hard people like Rust and Marty try to stop it. No matter how much we may try to destroy evil, it will take root again and again. This plays directly into the "light vs dark" dialogue at the end of the series

      Isn’t it just social parody

    • @captainunload
      @captainunload วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@adams0123 Nope. You can tell by the way it flows. When the "parody" goes in one direction, villainizing certain individuals and attaching particular worldviews to them, for example, it shows it is intended to shape people's thoughts about the ideas they attach to the villains. Media outlets do it too. They claim they are making honest mistakes, but their honest mistakes consistently support or attack a particular person or a particular political movement. If it was truly accidental, the mistakes would be even. Just like with this show. If they were making parodies, they would contradict the standard corporate narrative on social matters. We'd see the prolife view being defended by a protagonist instead of an antagonist, and we'd see an honest portrayal of Islam that looks at its source material and societal effects.

    I've always watched a lot of tv shows/ movies, not so much lately, for a simple reason, i can't watch crap. Don't know what happened, but what's being made for the last decade feels like a 5 year old wrote the script, not gonna waste time in my life hurting my brain....i knew of this series, being praised as something amazing, but somehow, i never got to watch it, until today...just finished watching the first episode and i'm dying inside...i desperately want to binge watch the whole thing and at the same time i want to prolong this experience for as long as possible... One hour passed by without notice, felt like ten minutes, was completely lost in it...i can only say, thank you, to all involved in making gem.

    I don't the your theory of Rust's tattoo is a stretch. After I'd watched TD for about the 3rd time, I think, I started paying attention to when the tattoo is seen or not, and came to a similar conclusion. I didn't see it as him ready to change as a person exactly, but him ready to put the leave the past in the past. It's like a burden has been lifted off his shoulders.

    Personally I don’t think we was a full villain. He was more like and Anti-Hero. He tried upholding the deal with Butcher and opened up about his past. He tried doing the right thing compared to what he had done in the past. He’s not psychotic like his son and he’s even shown a bit of sorrow about killing civilians when he lost control of his powers. Kinda reminds me of Slade in a sense.
