Hey, what planting zone are you in?

I'm also in zone 6 (Missouri). Do you think shuffling - rather than starting under lights in the garage - will give my late season figs enough time to ripen next year?

I’ve been a poor grape grower. I neglect it horribly. It sets hundreds of clusters and I should thin it to only a dozen or so but have not.

Update on your Mars grape vine??

Your trees, and figs, look great. Your WM#1 is a monster. I'm so envious. Of the few varieties I've tasted that's my fave. How old is yours and how big is its pot? I have a first year WM#1 in a two gallon pot. Planning to up pot to a 10 gallon during dormancy. I'm a bit concerned it stalled out a few weeks ago at under 3 feet tall. Hope that's temporary due to it starting to get root bound and not something more serious. Thanks for sharing.

It's been a very great season here in Denver Co zone 6a. as well. My experience in this harsh environment ( high altitude sun, dry climate) is small fruits ( small figs ) and small vegetable ( cherry tomatoes, japanese eggplants etc ) do well here, easier to work with. thank you for your updates.

Im growing olympia, white Marseille, and strawberry verte. Any experience with these? Id like to find a cherry flavored fig and black mission.

How did you get scaffolds on your Verdelino to come out at the same height like that? Do some trees naturally have really compact nodes, or did you do something to encourage them to grow out like that?

Your trees and figs look great. On track for a terrific harvest. I found the vid for how you fertilize, but I did not see one for potting mix. What potting mix do you use? Also, I have a small black celeste first year cutting with 4 figs on it. I'm looking forward to them ripening. Did you cull the black celeste you had a couple years ago?

I love your collection. I may have missed it but do you have any black jack figs in your collection. First year fig grower and I picked up a black jack and Chicago hardy.

Heck yeah man still rocking it. Looking great. Its funny how you mentioned earliest year you've seen. I've noticed lot's of people mentioning something very differently positive this year. And these are people from all over not just one climate. I havent been growing them for long enough to have that kind of opinion, but I wonder if there is something leading to figs trees all over having a better year. Maybe it was the mild winter and early start to the season. Maybe it's something else. Something cyclical.

When do you do your heading cuts? New to figs and I have a black jack single trunck with 3 scaffolds starting but the main is 7' tall. What do you recommend? Nice collection you have.

Wow! I was just watering mine, here in Pennsylvania. They’re ALSO strangely way ahead of schedule, I just got to enjoy 5 huge figs! I can’t remember which strains, but the delicious pink fruited ones, with slightly higher sodium. Awesome. My entire garden is mysteriously ahead of schedule. Anyone else experiencing a quickening like us?

I planted a Brown Turkey tree at the worst possible time in the worst soil I`ve ever seen last year....hard as concrete red clay with gravel during the worst drought and heatwave since 2000 in Louisiana. It didn`t begin to grow until late July last year after heavy mulch, fertilizer and twice a day watering. It`s getting huge now and has unripe figs and a cutting from it is growing rapidly and has figs. I also planted four Celeste trees this year and they`re doing well with heavy use of grass clippings, cardboard layers, fertilizer and lots of water. I planted four dwarf mulberry trees around them to distract the birds but I have a fine mesh 10x30 ft wrapping for the big tree and I can use part of it to make fig bags too. Raccoons may be a problem. The squirrels here are too scared to try it because they`ve been hunted by humans and flocks of owls.

Bro, you need a Texas Blue Giant. I have the 3 Celeste fig trees, 2 years on ground, zone 8A, frustrated with it. It grows big, bushy and healthy, but don't fruit well. Lots of fruits that never mature and they're small. If they the fruits don't mature this year and give me something to eat, they will be removed in the winter. I'm done waiting. I have a Yellow Long Neck - prolific - and has grown very big, now the main trunk lays on the ground it is so big and thick. I chopped off the other branches but that one (hoping it will grow upright branches), but quickly grew new branches that grew fast but sideways again (I'm told figs don't grow upright). It survived the cold DFW weather. The only one I protected was the main thick trunk, not the new branches. I was surprised. Wish I new how to grow cuttings, so far I'm failing. Yellow Long Neck tastes like Caimito, mildly sweet but delicious.

Location? How often are you watering? How long are you watering? I'm in St George Utah & its over 104° most days. My Figs in pots are all stressed out. Leaves look all dried, but soil is moist.

You have said in other videos the pot size is 15 gal that you use. Is the top diameter of the pot 40 cms? I bet your family and friends love you when the figs are ripe. Great looking trees and crop. 👍
