CASE 580K Stuck in Gear
มุมมอง 7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
A short video tidbit that might help if your CASE 580K or similar backhoe gets stuck in gear. It got stuck because the shifter tried to simultaneously move both of the shifting forks, jamming them together. This is easily resolved by taking the cover and forks of the transmission, if the dang cover doenst get stuck on the transmission! Indeed with this design, when the gears get stuck, the shif...

Case 580K Hydraulic Filter Replacement
มุมมอง 19K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Well well well, if there isn't a dummy light to tell you to replace the hydraulic filter! I guess its a good thing this light is there, otherwise I might have never replaced this filter. First, the filter location is completely non-evident. And B, Why would I replace the filter when I add a dozen gallons a year due to leaks and blowouts? Who the hell gets to a point where they willingly remove ...
RIding Mower Engine Backfire- bad fuel shutoff solenoid
มุมมอง 41K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this quick video I replace a fuel shutoff solenoid on a TroyBilt Pony riding mower that backfires. By backfire, I mean a gas vapor explosion in the exhaust that belches fire out the muffler. This isn't good for the exhaust system, and is easily and cheaply remedied. The following link is an aftermarket alternative fuel solenoid that fits and works great. This solenoid should only be used if ...

Chicago Electric Power Tools Portable Bandsaw defect review
I have a 580c 1989/that looks identical to your shift plate and forks. Right now it stuck in 4 gear after a half mile ride and the plate will not come off. Seems the fork for the 3&4 gear will not budge, I have tried everything to nudge it back to neutral but no luck. 1&2 slides fine. Thanks for your video and any input!
@@solarpall i did this again recently and it is AGAIN stuck in first. Much better first than fourth!! I put my borescope up in there, these new digital borescopes aren't too expensive and have a hundred uses, might help identify the problem. All times I've fixed this it's with a long robust flat heat screwdriver and invariably I munge up the gasket. I'm going to put a camera in there next time to see why this keeps getting stuck, it's really frustrating!
Thanks! The scope is what I will try also!
I had to rebuild the brakes because last year all the trans gear lube leaked out throug the brake shoe housing. Its been fun but I am starting to loose my patience with this old ckunky machine
@@solarpall i just replaced the exhaust manifold which was looking a little swiss cheesy. It's nice when they work though!
You guys are the best!
Well duh
Thanks for the video. I just bought my first peice of heavy equipment about a week ago. 1989 Case 580k 4x4. I wanted to do a full service on it and was hoping to find some videos on TH-cam, doesn't look like there's much out there. If you do a fluid change hopefully you will post it!
I am definitely past due for an engine oil and shuttle fluid change. It's the middle of winter so maybe this spring!
I just bought a secondhand 580k and it’s got a bent exhaust stack, was wondering how that happened cheers🇦🇺🤙
Hey hey, I know exactly how this happens. Put the bucket all the way up. The case 580k has a safety lock that keeps the bucket up. If you open the hood (engine cover), but don't lock the bucket up, it can slowly leak down and fold forward your exhaust stack. You can use an acetylene torch to reheat at the fold and a long prybar down the stack to bend it back straight
Right on man this was helpful I can't wait to see how you put the thumb on their thank you for the video.✌
Worth it? I'm looking at an 05 that will likely need the whole front end rebuilt but for that much effort might just run away
Sure! It was like new with the fixes. Good mileage, reasonable size, 180k miles without any major engine work. Worst problem I had was replacing the clutch and rear main seal.
Very helpful NineCarG, thanks!
What size blade does this take and where can i order some for cutting steel tube etc. I'm assuming that the best value isn't with the big brands.
The blade is 44.7"*.5"*.25", I have bought replacements right at Lowe's (big box home improvement store). I get big metals pieces from onlinemetals or metals Depot, or from a local guy. You can get good deals for scraps on eBay.
Super helpful I ended up having to go in through the top however your insight was very helpful.
I'm glad. Since I made this video some 20yrs ago it's gotten stuck again, fixed and stuck again. I almost want to put a camera on the gearbox to see why it keeps getting stuck. Any ideas???
@@NineCarGarage nope. I still have not pulled mine apart since watching the video. Lol
Hi Any idea where I can get replacement part for this? My trigger hold button broke.
Oh noooo! My manual says to call 1-800-444-3353. Looks like it might be part of the upper handle housing part 61 , but maybe if it's just a little button you can get your friendly neighbor maker to 3d print you a new one?
did you do both sides with the cab on? how much of a pain? worth taking the cab off at least ? thanks!
I've done both sides with the cab on. It's not too bad, nothing like the oil pan!!
For that lil waterfall of coolant on the rear section, loosen the bolts but don't remove them... When things are loose, give it a wiggle and the coolant will slowly flow vs tsunami flow out
Thank you. It took me awhile to figure out how to move the bar guide from 21 to 28. This should be in an easier way to switch..
Drive your Mazda's into the ground and get what dollars you can from the junk yard then go buy yourself an American built performance vehicle, Mazdas give good headache ,,,,,,
i dont know about other models or years but THE 2010 MAZDA 6 HAS A FACTORY RECALL ON ITS SUB FRAME AND ALL SUB FRAME PARTS AND LABOR TO REPLACE IT BY A MAZDA DEALER IS INCLUDED, FREE ! JUST LETTING YOU OWNERS KNOW BECAUSE MAZDA DEALERS OR MAZDA CORPORATION WONT .
Thanks for looking out for us!
I’ve used this about 2 times but a friend borrowed it and now blade mechanism appears to be turned backwards. Can’t get the scrolling knob to turn the right way out. How do I do it?
As far as Iknow, the scrolling selector on the side is the only thing that lets/stops it from rotating. If you put it in scroll mode, you should just be able to turn it back straight. Otherwise you may need to go in like I did!
This gun double shoots a lot, not as in it will shoot one mail and then shoot another shortly after, but it will shoot two nails at the same time somehow.
Interesting. I haven't seen that. I use Bostitch collated nails and it seems to work fine. Maybe if you try 21 degree there will be less apparent overlap, otherwise you may want to see if your hammer has a defect in the machining
I just ordered this from Titan today for my 580K. I have seen others add more holes to the base so it has more adjustability for the thumb.
That's impressive, I'm not sure what tool one would most likely have to achieve that
Thank you for the only video I could find that showed the difference between the old and new version and how to remove that o-ring. I was picking and twisting that knob to all frustration!
Great video!
There are so many companies that sell thumb kits....Some are obviously more stout than others......WHAT BRAND IS IT???? AWESOME VIDEO!!!! I want to put a Thumb on my hoe. Thanks Man!!!
Great video, I’m still trying to my 2.5 rod by 3.5 cylinder dipper piston nut off. I got the seal kits for entire boom, just trying not beat up my chrome or fingers! Don’t forget the hoses!!
The hoses are the worst and very expensive. If I was braver, or had a swagger, I'd make them myself. About that bolt, add heat!
I feel your pain
Just very gery important FYI to everyone, mazda has called a recall recently on the front subframe crossmember. They should replace it free or if somebody had it replaced you can still should get reimburstment. Please contact mazda
I just searched my vin and found nothing for my 2010 mazda 5 except the 2010 fuel pump connector recall back in 2010.
I wouldn't leave the insulation paper facing exposed anywhere. It's highly flammable and is supposed to be covered with something. One mishap and you'll burn the whole thing down real quick.
Agreed. Admittedly it's been 7 yrs and I have t burned it down yet. Any great economical covering suggestions?
@@NineCarGarage maybe spraying some paint on it will keep it from being easily combustible?
Yeah, my wife has a 2012 Mazda 2, I got underneath it recently for an oil change and was horrified at the state of the subframe. Wirebrushed and undersealed it but I reckon it might be too little too late.
Guessing it's too late, though I just tried the same on a 2010 Tacoma frame..
id kiss you for the front access
Can I help you guys for free on your next project?
Uh, maybe! Nothing currently planned right now though!
So you can shoot skinnier nails too?
Great question! There is a range but since this is a framing nailer it isn't really made for smaller nails. The specs say .113 to .131" diameter, 2" to 3-1/2" long.
Thanks for the video! What number rod did you use to weld it on?
This was all MIG with .035 wire
Simple fix is to get rid of the solenoid and replace it with a bolt or cut the solenoid tip off and replace with a shut off .
Man, I was scouring TH-cam and the internet for a long time to see how this could work or if anyone has done it! Thank you for sharing. Hoping to do this in a 800 sqft ADU I will be building and want it vaulted in the family/kitchen, then storage over the 3 bedroom/bath/hall on the back half of house.
There's not a ton of space up there, only 220ft over 896ft because of the attic truss style. Make sure you leave enough room for the stairs!
Where did you get the manual thumb from? I’m needing one. Thanks
Titan attachments. See my other video for more info!
Thanks! I just needed to know how to change the angle, since I’ve had 21deg nails in it for over 10 years and just bought 28deg nails on an incorrect guess. Yes, over 10 years of around the house projects, building a couple of rooms worth of framed walls etc., probably 2000 nails driven. I oil it with every use and it has never let me down.
Hope you figured it out. Every time at the store I'm waffling over whether it's set to 21 or 28
I need a new cylinder seal for this nailer, where can I buy a replacement? and does anyone have a part # I can search? link for part replacement will be appreciated, thanks
The manual at harborfreight.com item 98751 shows an exploded view and all the parts. It also has a phone number to call, presumably for parts
How often should one change hydraulic filters, after how many hours of operation?
Thank you for this video sir! Nobody else showed this and my 96 has no e brake arms in the drums at all!
Oh no!
@@NineCarGarage all fixed now. Was not easy to locate the parts as they aren't wear parts they claim.
what a dummy
Ee
Perfect video for what I’m trying to do. Which is convince my boss that we need this, because we do!!
It's a game changer, good luck!
A steam cleaner can restore foam and will remove all the indentations in them. Great job on the seats!
Great idea! In my case the foam was exposed and partially disintegrated with the UV exposure.
Thank you, very detailed information.
If you crack the bleeder while compressing the caliper it's a lot easier
Thanks for the tips!
Hello, we have the same problem only that he stayed first and doesn't let anyone else change, could you help us solve that problem? Thank you and excellent video
It could be the same issues where two internal forks are locked together. My only advice is to unbolt the top plate on the shift mechanism and try to pull up. It it doesn't come up, use a long screwdriver to move forks manually through the crack to get forks clear of housing. Good luck!
Dealing with this now and I can see where the pin has gone too far forward. Thanks for the visual.
Best of luck!
Thanks for the info. Mine also needs replacing and I was wondering how I was going to get to it...
Sound is too low. Can't hear you.
Thanks for the feedback.
Ive got an eton viper 50cc engine and i think itd 2 stroke do you know where i can get a new wiring loom ans carb from for this? I dont know where the elec shock wire plugs into
I use get2itparts.com. the electrical schematic was a little harder to come by, the ones I found didn't match the machine directly but did help out. I might be able to find these documents if you have no luck.
You don’t make sense at all
