@@UncannyPally that’s a good question, cause they do things differently. Bladesinger will be casting way more spells since they have more spell slots, but Hexblade has those sweet spectres that can help keep healing you. They’re similar playstyles but different. And they can use different gear from each other too!

@@Mirrorfanboy1912 haha it’s cause I’m focusing on pumping them out. The new computer renders really quickly, and the guides are also slim in terms of item lists and gameplay so I can just go over the level up process and ramble on. I don’t quite like how slim they are but I’m trying to pump these out before the patch gets out! I intend to make a few more advanced/elaborate build vids too, but it depends if I’m burnt out and also other game titles coming out like civ 7 😍

@@snakeman830 I wouldn’t say it most wants that. That’s an icing on the cake type of thing, not necessarily a build maker. It can be effective but you can live without it.

Which ones do you miss the most?

@remortisgaming Eldritch Smite and Spear, Grasp of Hadar, Shroud of Shadow, Chains of Carceri...there are so many. Im glad Larian is even bothering with it at all as they didn't have to add any of these new subclasses...but Warlock has been gimped in the game for a while and this rendition of the Hexblade really only works for multi-classing and is missing a lot...

​@@Burberrydalive so this massively powerful Hexblade warlock in bg3 is gimped?! It's even stronger in the true DND stuff?!?! A mod will come to have the missing invocations. Could be they excluded that stuff because already Warlock is the best class

@clevergoblin1714 Warlock is the best class when multi. Swords based and monk are still broken af. And yea, Hexblade has a ton of unique invocations that aren't included. You can google them to see must how many. It's not really about being OP, they make the class feel unlike.

It's not bad, just... redundant atm.

​@@remortisgamingIt isn't redundant, it gives Non-Hexblade Patron the ability to go melee. A melee Great Old One for instance. I run Minthara as Vengeance Great Old One.

@@remortisgaming Not really just a Warlock perspective but an Action economy one. Anyone not playing Honour mode still gets triple attack with Pact of the Blade, something a Hexblade isn't likely to make use of because they'd have to use the regular Joe-Blow Pact Bind rather than Hexbind to get triple Attack Action.

@ they nerfed that on all difficulties from what I heard with other testers in patch 8. I didn’t test it myself to verify but I will.

Level 6 of Hexblade to get an accursed specter while being a death cleric, high charisma and wisdom, Dex can be entirely dumped thanks to the Gloves of Dexterity To say I'm excited for patch 8 would be a major understatement.

@ I wanna test if lvl 6 death cleric will apply to spectre but I doubt they would

@@remortisgaming Well a death cleric at level 6 ignores necrotic resistance, I'm not sure if the specters would but atleast you would be able to ignore necrotic resistance on all your spells.

All these subclass coverage vids are gonna be basic builds to express the changes and ideas of the new subclasses, I’ll be posting more thorough builds/guides after I finish each class

It the weapon allowing the Barbariano-rogue multiclass to work without any drawback, it's ton of fun (and damage)

@@keithwin3449 EK definitely got the biggest glow up in latch 8. It really needed booming blade to shine. It’s easily the best booming blade user.

@ it’s still nice though, don’t let it deter you. The dirty trick disarm every turn for no resource investment is worth imo

@ What functions as an extra attack? Sneak attack? no it's just additive damage, it's not it's own separate attack.

@@Tentacl google Booming Blade for 5e. The damage is the same. The reason why it’s bonkers is it was limited to only 1 attack per round cause it combined your bonus action with your attack, plus the tabletop had a weird rule about casting multiple spells in a turn, where BG3 doesn’t care about that rule.

@@remortisgaming But why does the text states the damage is only applied when the target moves then? WoTC "explained" it's actually not RaW in some post or errata? Edit: Found it, it CHANGES to also apply the extra damage on hit at 5 level, not sure if it's reflected in the BG3 text - ty for the reply.

How should it work? And Larian has a lot of mechanics that work differently from 5e but they could change it

@keithwin3449 booming blade being a cantrip should work as casting a spell, it doesn't work with extra Attack. Bladesinger gets a special Extra Attack letting you do one attack and one cantrip. At most they should limit it to only being castable once per attack action not on Every Attack action.

@@remortisgaming 16 intelligence is enough for the caster, especially if there is a helmet from Act 2(Helmet of Arcane Acuity). And for an attack, you can safely make 17 +1 (hag's hair), + 2 from the feat and a savage attacker. This will be quite enough for higher damage, especially if you put enemies in paralysis. And in Act 3, we'll be even stronger, because we now have a shadow blade that can be obtained even without concentration and resonance stone will boost our damage. In general, a very strong build can be made. As a multi-class of paladin and bard, only now there is also a wizard

@ I am also considering 1 level of Hexblade for this build too since it’s also from the Shadowfell. So Charisma and Wisdom being the main stats shouldnt be an issue, especially since I can happily dump strength. (Lorewise, Shadowheart’s always seemed more like a caster than a mace-chucker anyway XD)

@remortisgaming Shame we only get it so late. Until then, gotta grab every eligible corpse you find and shove it in the camp chest. Every goblin corpse in Act 1, like it's a sick collection. I used the Animate Dead+ mod to get some much-needed quality of life improvements in my run, but sadly it's third-party. It eliminates the "X damage ruins the corpse" thing, and optionally even lets you summon undead from nothing like you're in a permanent Negative Energy Zone.
