came back here after Metaphor recieved 6 nominations at the game awards including game of the year!

I love Yoko. She's probably my favorite Chaos rep because of how unintentionally funny she can get. She says the most extreme shit that instead of coming off as offensive, it's just hilariously dark.

Actually interestingly enough, Metaphor isn’t a new IP it’s a prequel to Etrian Odyssey. Which is trippy as hell.

P5 turned Atlus from a still somewhat niche dev in the west to a top-tier dev, and Metaphor has taken them from a top-tier dev in the west to legend status. I genuinely view them as being in the same realm as fromsoft, Santa monica, etc with regards to the level of quality and care with which they build games. I couldn’t be more proud of this studio forreal they’ve just continued to excel and I couldn’t be happier.

Yuka and junpei on the same tier? I cannot even say thats rage baiting. Yuka is so fkn annoying and a jerk to junpei. She shouldn't be above b. Her character development in this game is literally: From a coward jerk who has nothing to say and bullying others to a regular Girl. Her Crit Bows at least usefull. Youre right with Mitsuru but forgetting about the +, that she is a high school girl with mommy vibe. Thats should be enoigh to be at least A aigis is ok but should be A to show this huge distance between junpei and the others.

watching this the day after I finished the game (and cried at the ending) and all i can say it deserves the massive sales. its refreshing, unique, the message of it hit me hard and definitely wasnt afraid to address subjects in a way that didn't feel off or misinterpreted. sure hope this metaphor lives on in atlus' iconic history lol

I gotta disagree, yukari and junpei were two of the most annoying friends for me, junpei unhinged and uncalled for jealousy and dumb decisions and yukari being almost unreasonable at times and just a bit of a bitch at times, they both have great moments like yukaris back story and junpei's chidori story but honestly there was plenty of times ahere i just did not like them 😅 i havent finished p4 yet but i have discovered that p3 is probably my least favourite cast (i still loved it)

I stumbled upon the game out of the blue on the steam page, liked what I was being shown, thought "fuck it let's play the demo". Started playing it and loved it, and then realised later on it was from Atlus. I hope we get more metaphor games down the line honestly. Bought the game after the demo and have been having a blast.

3 weeks later... 20k in game in Steam in the middle of the night and 7.2k reviews leaving the game in high regard. Your worries should be over at this point

Hopefully we get more than 1 game a decade not centered around high school.

I'm a relatively new atlus games enjoyer, I started with SMT3 remake and played SMT5 Vengeance but somehow never played any persona, I gave metaphor a try and so far I really like it

I also don’t like the robot turning human trope, but didn’t got to change my mind with aigis, just ended up hating her more and more and by the final dungeon i dropped p3p cause she pissed me off

I know this will be controversial, but the lack of the Pokemon shit (breeding and fusing and random skill transfers) is huge for this game. I personally always hated how awkward it was to build your ideal team of Personas. Now you can build whatever you want and don’t have to go “catch em all” or pay to take your archetype from the compendium.

Personally the only thing that bugs me about Shinjiro is how underutilized he is in p3p if you save him, idk I felt like there could have just been more you know? Also i find him living to be less strong than him dying at least in a narrative sense

Interesting video, but I definitely disagree that this is such a massive change for Atlus. This is easily my GOTY, but one of the criticisms of it is that it borrows basically everything from persona except the story. Since persona is one of my favorite games of all time, that’s not a problem for me, but I definitely agree with that.

This is why people were so disappointed in Soul Hackers 2. These are the same guys that made Digital Devil Saga, Strange Journey, SMT III & IV, Persona 5. We dont want green idol girls with edge. We want them to go beyond what they've done in the past. And with Metaphor, they have dont that. They've combined all their strengths into Metaphor and it's amazing. Thank you ATLUS.
