My name is Zachary McPhink, and I run Level reDesign, where I do game development content, such as remaking games, making fan projects, and some other cool game dev adjacent videos!
I spent 8 months remaking Toy Story 2 in Unreal Engine 5 | Toy Story 2: Reassembled
Over the last 8 months, We have spent several hundred hours remaking Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue (1999) in Unreal Engine 5. In this video, I show off the Attic (which is about 95% complete), new new house shell which has been fully replaced, some new implemented Buzz animations, and also some programming work and new features :)

CORRECTION WITH DOT PRODUCTS: When finding the dot product of directions, the returned values range from -1 to 1, not 0 to 1. For this dev log, I did a lot of small features. I guested on a podcast episode coming out soon, and I mention Sly Cooper specifically as a game I want remade. I would love a Wind Waker HD type remake for Sly Cooper
@@Level_reDesign The original or any of the sequels? As a massive fan of the series, I feel like the original trilogy is just perfect, maybe some modern lighting, fixxing some textures, and bump maps to them, but otherwise I feel like they are perfect. What I would like to be done to the games is, either remake sly 4 in the art style of Sly 1-3 and most importantly, the comics. That is something I'd want to see, comic accurate models better animation especially of in game cutscenes, otherwise I feel like the game hold up very well still. I play them mostly on pc through emulation and they just look great, especially the PS2 versions, not the downgraded ps3 ones. sorry for the essay, I am very passionate about Sly Cooper :D
@@uggZymoroon I have only played the first sly cooper at this moment. But in the podcast, I think I said that the game is still almost perfect even still. I've not checked out the PS3 trilogy pack, but to be fair, most of those trilogy packs on PS3 were significantly worse versions of the earlier games. The Ratchet trilogy is an example of this where a portion of that trilogy pack is basically unplayable with the horrible performance
@@Level_reDesign i did hear that. The Jak trilogy were terrible as well. The Sly collection is good, just downgraded visuals over the PS2 game and just stretched to fit 16:9. Mate wait till you play sly 2! Your mind will be blown! It's such a jump from sly 1 to 2 and sly 2 defines the rest of series. It's objectively the best sly game on all fronts even though my favourite is sly 3 because of nostalgia. Wish I could see your reaction to it, it's not every day you meet a new sly fan! Enjoy! And PLEASE!! If you ever play sly 4, don't play it on PS3. Play it on rpcs3 on pc and disable mlaa in game patches. That game is terrible on native hardware, actually terrible!

As somebody who just picked up Toy Story 2 on Dreamcast. This looks fantastic. I hope its playable to the public one day, great work!
Although PS1 graphics are my favorite graphics ever, a remake of this game is a really good idea because you've made it look much more in line with what the actual Toy Story films look like.

i love this game so much. i own it on psOne, 2 and 4. im constantly in awe watching these updates. b you should add skins based on the old toys like the american buzz or chrome buzz. or an animated series skin. you could make challenges and reward the skins or hide them in new secret locations great work and good luck
