      I'm not sure if you knew this, but it is a miracle that Fable ever actually released at all with all the constant changes and struggles it had in development. There is also a crazy amount of cut content for the game that the creator Avarice shows on his channel.
      For me, this is a great way to practice mechanics that must fit the world. For example, I'm working on a custom boss that fits the Fable universe, but my goal is for it to be the greatest boss in the entire franchise :)

    I can't believe I just randomly stumbled upon this. I've been thinking about taking on a project like this myself, it's so enjoyable to see how you're getting everything put together. Great work, keep it up! :D

    Get work! I'm very excited to see how you continue to flesh this out. I started my own fable-style project in unity last year but ended up losing all the files due to my hard drive corrupting, but watching this makes me want to start it up again. What exactly do you consider to be the first hour of the game?

    • @Level_reDesign
      @Level_reDesign  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the kind words! :) If you have played Fable more than two times, you know you can fly through the game wicked fast without even really "speedrunning".
      With that being said, I consider the first hour to be the first hour for someone who has never played Fable before (or at least in a few years), which would most likely be the Oakvale tutorial area, guild training (and some of the side quests there), Wasp queen quest, and meeting Maze in Bowerstone where he tells you that your sister may be alive. This will include the full gameplay experience of this, including shops, property management, 1-2 swords/bows, and 2 magic skills, along with a few extra things I add.
      Also, I recommend you look into Source Control to protect your projects. I really like Plastic myself, but you can use Git of course. That basically allows you to push your project to a server so that computer mishaps won't make you lose the project. It also means if you make a change that breaks the project beyond repair, you can go to a time before that change was made and get the files back in good condition.

      @@Level_reDesign Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to look into them, but I ask because I am a speedrunner, and an hour to me would be completing the game, which doesn't sound like a "minimum product." XD

    • @Level_reDesign
      @Level_reDesign  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, totally get that. I only say an hour because on my last two updates I said how much the MVP was, but wanted to cut that out as much as possible. So, saying the first hour was the best way to get that lol. Even for me, it isn't the first hour at all. It would be closer to the first 20 minutes at most and probably less if I went my normal speed on Fable these days lol. But for normal or average players, it would be an hour. Also, I'm hoping with my updates to things like property management and new bosses, it will allow players to check out more of the experience, which will slow them down HAHA

    Nice work so far, but something doesn’t feel quite homogeneous. Post processing in Unreal is a great way to bind everything together, especially adding bloom would bring back that original vibe. Might also suggest dialing back the contrast

      I am, though production has slowed down some. But yeah. I FINALLY have another episode that I am writing the script for now. Fun fact, I have the oakvale quest complete at this point (though the environment is not 100% with no random npcs for example)

      @@Level_reDesign thank you bro! it's been inspirational and motivated me to pursue my own art projects... haven't seen anyone finish a fable remake definitely hoping you get to do it first.

    Is this this legal, it would be a shame for all your work to be taken from you

    • @Level_reDesign
      @Level_reDesign  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just remaking the project and creating dev logs does fall under fair use, and the main intention of this project above anything else is to have it on my portfolio. However, sharing the project with others requires permission directly from MS. I know for a fact that some very high up leadership at Xbox are aware of the project, but no one has reached out to me. They just followed the project and me on LinkedIn.
