love it😊❤
This was the only helpful video I've found on this excerpt! Thank you so much for explaining fingerings/Shifts!!!
So cool😭🔥
Thank you. Such a fun piece to play!
Love these double stops videos. Do u suggest to go learn them in that order as well:octaves, 3rd, 6th?
Sixths are the easiest to learn. And from sixths, one can learn octaves (built from sixths) Thirds are definitely hardest of the three to learn given the demands of suitably stretching the hand.
@@richardamoroso_violin what about fourths. they good for intonation and hand . Are u making a video of fourths? Maybe they easier to hear than 3rd . Sound like a plan to build up the ear. Learn to hear 4th
I was there!
That's so cool! I actually would love to attend a concert at Carnegie. I'm always on the stage :)
Great lesson. Thank you for that. How can we memorize the sequence of major thirds and minor thirds in the scale?
Everyone's method of memorization is different depending on perfect pitch or strong relative pitch. Those with perfect pitch just hear the intervals. Others have to memorize the fretting of the hand while doing the scale sequence.
Super! ❤
Thank you!
Really good 👌
Thanks so much!
I was just looking for videos to help me learn how to better train my octaves the other day, so this video really is perfect timing. You present a method that I have never seen before, but I am eager to try it out! Octaves are a technique that I am really looking to incorporate more into my daily practice because they are currently one of my weakest skills.
So happy to help!
Wow! Richard, thanks for sharing this "live" in concert performance of yours. As a basic-to-intermediate violinist who picked up learning the instrument in the last 2 years, sometimes when I am practising taught techniques, I am beginning to hear some beautiful undertones (resonance) on my violin - making me feel as if the instrument is about to come alive! So much effort really goes into playing the violin - such an amazing, mysterious and yet beautiful instrument. Bravo to you Richard, and many thanks for your very helpful TH-cam videos.
Thank you for all the feedback! I'm so grateful for my journey as a member of the Philadelphia Orchestra as well as a teacher. May the experience and personal growth never end.
Very hurry, your guidance
You're welcome!
Sehr langsam means very slow
Yes, you’re correct. I misspoke. Thank you for the correction
Please more videos on intonation with intervals and cords
Thank you so much!
You're so welcome!
I'm not sure if it's just the recording, but your violin sounds very unique! And your playing is phenomenal, thank you for sharing this !
Thank you so much!
I love scales and arpeggios, especially on the piano. I started violin 16 years ago when I was 52 and am a bit lackadaisical on my scale practice. I find 4 notes to a bow really challenging! I loved your video!!!
👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Great lesson! 😊
Thanks so much!
Are you playing the Charles Buthod?
Yes I am 👍
Could I know what violin you are playing ?
I am playing a Nicolo Gagliano
@@richardamoroso_violin thank you so much it is a gorgeous violin !
Super informative, straight to the point!
Thank you!
Very good video! Thank you! Can you explain, how to play with a smooth bow, when you change the string? I always struggle with legato without a backround noise of the bow 😅
You're welcome! I will put string crossings on my to do list.
This may be the most helpful explanation I've seen! Thank you!
I really appreciate your no-nonsense approach and how short you keep the videos. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Bravo! Finally, someone who can play took the time to do it. ❤❤❤
Definitely a difficult excerpt!
Lovely! Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thank you for this. I desperately need help!
Merry Christmas Mr Amoroso! Your teachings are always inspiring!
People actually said that you can't play a scale in tune? Did they mean you specifically, or did they mean that in general its impossible to play a scale in tune (perfectly) with the nature of both the violin and our equal tempered system? If they meant you specifically I'd think a professional musician with the Philadelphia Orchestra would likely be better than the average comment-writer on TH-cam. I love your ear training examples! As an elementary school music teacher, we have to constantly adjust our perception of what exactly is an A or Bb . I feel horrible for those with perfect pitch! Keep doing what you're doing!
Yes, somebody told me and said I didn’t know how to play a scale properly in tune. There was a lot of engagement, which is fine by me.😊 Thank you so much for your kind comments and your participation
freakin' amazing!!! Bravo
Thanks so much Mark
Bravo!
Thanks so much!
This deserves WAYYY more attention
Awe thanks☺
Ciao, volevo chiederti quanto sia importante avere dei buoni crini
Very cool the analogous stories, like the relationship of Rocky and Mickey, and your incredible support from your dad. And Philly being the common playground😁 With both protagonists playing role of an underdog, the only difference is you join the Philadelphia orch, but Rocky loses to Apollo Creed (if I recall correctly). Such a cool tribute to your dad, Rich!
In the Rocky II, he trains harder and defeats Apollo! :)
@richardamoroso_violin ah yea that's right!😅
Thank you very much for your feedback and analysis. You are spot on!
Ok. That was different.😉
Are you familiar with the movie "Rocky?" This is a tribute to the movie and to my hometown as well as my story with my dad.
Lol😂 great idea
Did you get it?
your the best Richard. such an inspiring story ❤️ . your father brought his best out in you.
Such an amazing video. I learned so much more about you and your story! And I teared up when you talked about your father’s belief in you, there is nothing more powerful nor meaningful than unconditional love
I’m so glad this video resonated with you and thanks for sharing.
COOL! 😂
What about a succession of trills, eg during the opening part of Bruch's Scottish Fantasia? How do you join the sequence together in a smooth way? PS Many thanks for your excellent tips.
Great comment! I'm going to follow up with more content.
Thanx! 😊
❤ 😊
Thank you!

That is sooooooo cool! Brilliant performance! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked it!
The MOST important thing which is only briefly mentioned at 3:57 is you have to remove pressure from your index finger while you vibrate, you can put a bit of pressure back when you're playing without vibrato but without this tip you will shake your violin like mad.
That's like what my band teacher says " Dont practice till you get it right. Do it till you can't get it wrong, so practice" great advice for levels of players
Wish i could learn from someone of ypur calibre
So cool! Loved it!
You're so kind!
