Ya the different pace things a big one, difference between cool, dry days and days where it’s humid/rainy/windy for me are big. It’s crazy what humidity alone will do, even when it’s 70 out, that thick air fills your lungs fast. On a regular day I don’t get out of breath at all unless high pace, but in humidity after 2 miles I’m breathing heavy and in pain.
That little skip is no way a 9 min mile lol

If you wanna get into running, don’t hop on a crazy plan immediately. SLOWLY build up your speed and mileage. One of my friends, who holds the 5k state record for high school, started this season’s summer training with a 16 mile week. By the end of the summer he was hitting 70 every week. Fitness takes time, be patient. You got this!!!
I just started treadmill interval and HIIT running. Ran my first 5k. Please recommend some good shoes. I'm 50 years young.

Nah I compare myself to the local winning time for a marathon then do their average time for one mile then two then three until 5 then try to speed it up then once a month try a marathon. Marathons are hard and if you want to be competitive you need to know the competition

I think good advice is running slower but also try very harder to land on your feet softly, I am very much a beginner, and it helps with not impacting my legs and ankles too much
Just curious why does he eat cup noodles, chips and all these junk during pit stops? Shouldn’t he be downing things with more nutrients?
If i had to guess, those are foods that are high in calories which is a necessity when running long distances. The noodles and chips have lots of fat and carbs which helps with more calories and giving him more energy to exert. Im not an expert, just a runner!
Quick, easy, tolerable on an unsettled stomach, and high in carbs, calories and sodium.
