I sold my crashed Piuma and put the setup in my new Nimbus 550. I‘ll strech it soon but before that I wanted to try it as a 550. This was the actual 9th flight with that heli. I messed up the gear mesh a little bit so it screams like hell. Pretty cool little helicopter! first flight after 2 months not flying and I was able to do the first flights with my new Kraken (It’s the successor of my crashed Protos 770 Evo). Wonderful flying. Really goes to show you don't need to be putting down a bunch of power to do very technical 3D flying. I'm putting my Piuma together now and hoping to have a bank set up for low headspeed cruising. I like all that extra efficiency and flight time you get to work on your skills. I'm wondering if say the default xnova 4025 560kv motor they recommend might be able to reach 1100 on just 6s, letting you fly even lighter for the low headspeed setup. Then be able to throw the second pack in and run up to 1950rpm if you want. All with only bank/profile changes in the FBL. What durometer orings are you running in the head and did you have to use that other bushing that allows for more deflection? Also are you using default tail pulleys? I'm building with default everything to get a baseline to start, both 90 durometer orings and the lower play bushing.
@@rcvg69420 as far as i can remember I just bought the package with the head dampening from sab and tried all of the dampening combinations. at the and I stuck with the hardest dampening option to get rid of the head wobbles. Concerning the headspeeds you have to do your calculations. But I should be possible to fly 2000rpm on 12S and around 1000rpm with 6S. :) if you want to fly 2000 and 1000rpm all on 6S I think that‘s not possible.
@@GrimesRic thanks! I was thinking 1000 is probably too low, but I used a head speed calculator and 5% headroom on the esc on 6s with my current pinion doesn't quite look like it could reach 1100. Around 1000 is all it could do on 6s. So I'll prob just be running 12s all the time. Good to hear you ended up with the firm damping, that's what's in mine and it's the default setting. Good to see it's working well at low head speed. Thanks again!
I had a crash like this on my Protos max v2 700 a long time ago. Cheaper to just buy a new kit.
Fantasic flight! Ive watched this at least a dozen times. 3-4 min flights are too short for me. Imitation is the biggest flatery, so hope you dont mind me building almost the same heli with your specs. What head dampers did you use to get rid of the dreaded Piuma lhs wobbles? Thanks for being an inspiration ;)

I hardly ever sit through an entire flight video but this was amazing, I need to learn to just enjoy low headspeed and do some flow work like this.
glad to hear that you enjoyed it 😊 sometimes ultra low rpm can be really fun! But you‘ll need at least 14° collective pitch
@@GrimesRic I have the pitch but I fly a RAW running 4500mah 14s so it's a heavy bird compared to what you fly so may not be quite as elegant I think my low head speed setting from memory is 1200 rpm witch is likely best to make up for that extra weight 1100 may be a bit low.

@@michaeltward2859 but! It‘s a heavy monster 😃 my piuma was 4.0 or 4.2kg with the 3500mAh lipo. so i think it will be difficult to fly your raw really low rpm

It was a great flight 👏 The 12-cell model has a lot of power and torque! There aren't many main rotors in the 620mm to 650mm range.
the good thing is I love ms composit rapid blades and they are available in 600-630mm. Also RT Ultimate 610mm blades would be very nice. that‘s enough for me :)

Danke 🤩 ja bin soweit zufrieden. Ist ein cooler Trainer, billig wenn er mal einbombt. Ohne stretchkit fliegt er besser, aber ich steh auf low rpm, da passt der stretch etwas besser. Durch das 12s setup ist er relativ schwer. 2,5kg ohne Lipo. Sind Standard servos drin. Bin leider nicht auf dem global 3D

😂 der m1 ist aber auch nochmal quirliger und schwieriger zu fliegen. Vielleicht findest du den Servoknopf noch 😌

Ist eine custom haube von sab. Die vom 580er wäre zu klein..

Warum kreischt dein nimbus so? Klingt das real auch so?!
weil das heavy duty v3 zahnrad im kit war, das ist bekannt dafür dass es kreischt. habe mittlerweile das neueste HZR drin das ist deutlich angenehmer. im video war das ritzelspiel aber auch einen ticken zu groß, was das kreischen nochmal verstärkt hat. klang ziemlich unangenehm...

still have the M2 :) will fly it again soon to compare it to the S2! but I have the feeling they fly pretty much the same. Like the S2! Looks nice, don‘t have to change canopy and I like the bluetooth app for FBL settings.
