Old video, but may be worth a comment or two... Where is your battery charger? Don't use the alternator to charge a depleted battery. Either a CTEK MXS 5.0 or a Noco Genius 5 is a great investment. I leave my 2001 330xi plugged in to the CTEK when I'm not using the car (months at a time). If your going to put an aftermarket radio in a BMW I would stick to established reputable manufacturers. The Chinese stuff may look good on the surface, but is it really good? The UNI-T UT210E is a great amp clamp to diagnose parasitic draw with a resolution of 1mA.
When installing this radio did you run the 5m cable from the boot to the back of the radio ?… ive read some forums saying that the factory radio moduals go bad in the bm54 that can be found in our cars ,e39 and x5s … if you havnt the cable you need is called A0590 5.5m for the eonon
Not sure, but in some of the newer BMWs, you must register the new battery with the computer system otherwise it'll keep reading it as defective and not charge it completely. Also read that in some e46 models, the alternator will drain a battery if it's on it's way out.
Hi did you ever figure out what exactly was up with the radio? Also worth mentioning that you should “lock” the latches on the door and boot so the car thinks that they are closed. Just remember to unlock them before shutting the door/boot!
Still not really tackled the radio yet. I did have the unit out a while ago to replace the cable for the rear camera but nothing so far on radio reception. I'm going to get a replacement antennae booster and see if that fixes it. If not, then I'll know to look elsewhere for the issue.
Any new content coming up?...I’ve got a e46 330ci Msport facelift Individual Estoril blue 6 speed and enjoy your vids Just got the car in garage at the mo for coolant leak so I’ve bought a new radiator, water pump, expansion tank and thermostat and getting all that replaced for peace of mind Have you done any of these jobs yet or is it something you’ll be doing?
Hi John, I should have some content coming up soon but the car hasn't been used much during the lockdown so nothing much to report :) There are outstanding jobs I should get stuck into but I want to wait for a bit warmer weather as it's cold my garage :) It's cool you have a non-Clubsport 330ci in Estoril Blue. Such a lovely colour on this car. Apart from the spoiler and rims, we're basically the same anyway. As it turns out of one the jobs is a replacement rad, water pump and oil filter housing gasket. I'll be attempting those things myself and filming it.
@@bimmerclubsport ah ok, well look forward to watching the vids when the weather improves 😄 Had my Estoril now for seven years but currently own a E92 M3 now so hoping to get the 330 back up to scratch by going through the preventative maintenance work in the coming months..it’s still all motd and taxed so using it to keep miles down on the E92 M3 Alpine Edition Good luck with the Radiator work 👍
@@bimmerclubsport well 420bhp with the 8300rpm redline and DCT gearbox is 🤔...slightly different experience from the 330 😂... If you’re on Instagram look up @j77uld 👍....you’ll see both my e46 and e92 😊 If you were up near Aberdeenshire I could of took you for a spin no probs 😄
Sorry you're having problems with your car.
But it's good to see you posting again.
Why don’t you check the fuse box in the front?

Yeah I did. My head unit is XTrons though not Eonon.

@@johnauld0 Jeez what I wouldn't give to try out an M3. Never driven one yet :( Not even an E46 M3 and I'm itching to see how different it is.
