Where can I buy spare parts for cars? Also compatible, thanks

I got one of these in 1981when I was 12 years old and I was always buying tyres and pickups from the toy shop. The technology is so simple and I would imagine it was quite cheap to produce. It just has a simple pickup system with no chips or fancy electronics required. Even the controller was simple. They lowered the voltage and raised the amp to get around certain rules covering toy products at that time. I don't know if it was marketed very well at the time. I never came across anyone else at my school that had one. It was great fun to use and i am surprised that it was never revived.

Just picked one up ,cars dont wanna run ,it looks like a decent clean and new tyres is the way to go

Received it for Christmas 1980 or 81. It was crap. Swapped it for TCR which was great.

I had the TCR set with cars that looked more like Le Mans cars, and a bigger track. Way more fun than Scalextric because you could change lanes and overtake your opponent....or be overtaken! Still have it up in the loft, got it out a few years ago and after a good clean it all worked. I still even have a stash of spare tyres and contacts. This is in England so it definitely made it here.

Hi mate black car is a jam car and should have 3 pickups doesn't change lanes the other has a gap in the middle and the other race car has 2 next to each other . In the instructions it says to rub a 2 pence piece and rub the metal track contacts to clean the contacts, hope it helps

Scalextric built something like this? How much used to cost? Nothing special against Carrera universal laptimer, but 80€ is quite too much. Does this uses hall sensor to sense the magnet?

Im extremely disappointed in this set. The cars are fantastic, but after a few weeks the track is not working and it simply isn't good enough. Ive tried everything to get it working again and to no avail

Made in China, mistakes in a lot of things. I had a set way back and they had rubber band steering. Thinking of set for kid

They were sold overhere in the Netherlands back in the 80s. I saw them at a toy convention in Amsterdam when I was a child. Later on I bought it at the local toy store after I saved enough money for it. I had the yellow one. I think it’s lying around somewhere at my mother’s place. Cool movie, brings back memories.

Track rails need to be clean and the cars need a tune up kit, whilst the track needs longer straights for over taking. The tune up determined the speed of the car and the newer the tune up the faster the car. The cars tend to stay within the track at all times therefore skill with the throttle trigger tends to be moot. I ended up cutting or trimming the track edge rails lower on certain corners to increase the vulnerability for the car to exit the track if driven too fast. This system was supported and popular in Australia id say 1977 to mid 1980s although TYCO rebranded it later in the 1990s. AFX and Scalextric being the most popular brands of slot car sets in OZ.

This is probably the best video I've come across on TH-cam that explains everything. My friend bought me a set this week. Like you I'd never heard of it but it sounded fantastic. I approached prep in much the same way as yourself ie: track clean and stripping my trucks and inspecting motors. They work fine, I'm just waiting on some nice new tyres to improve traction and hopefully that cures that issue.

My green one looks good... they must have sorted out the badly misaligned panel gaps. Sorry to note yours is a bit of a lemon.

Get the decade right,NOT the 80s.

I worked out the clickety-clack,i saw a gouge mark on the plastic in the bottom of the channel of the classic track. Well done ,for that .I hope more peeps get more satisfaction from a quieter race.

I got the same set in a really bad condition, but there's hope it works if I find the time to fix it. However, the box has no instructions at all. I was wondering if yours has a manual on how to build the full track? Could you share it please?

Never heard of it? How old are you?!! It came out as a huge deal, more 'realistic' alternative to Scalextric, because you could overtake.

Im starting to collect tyco now. I have alot of marklin sprint. Scalectrix. TCR. Great models. And alot of obscure Other slot cars. I always skipped over tyco. Because of the small size.

I loved my Race & Chase and wore it out after many happy hours of play. A few years ago, I found out that the later 9 volt Matchbox slot cars run perfectly well on modern Micro Scalextric track, so after a little work, I've got the cars back up and running again.

The first car you tried to drive was the blocker. It runs independently from the 2 other cars. Says on the box and in both commercials. 🤔

I got hold of an uprated custom power supply and they perform brilliantly - later cars are actually too fast! I have scalextric, Aurora & Matchbox Powertrack - all great in their own way

Enjoyed the video, I’m new to scalectrix, so, I want to build 5 or 6 digital pro Scalextric tracks controlled by the Wi-Fi app. Is it possible to have that many digital pro tracks?
