Potts Mountain Jeep Trail - How is this NOT a Badge of Honor!?
Part 2 of the Virginia trip with Jamie to Potts Mountain Jeep Trail in the George Washington National Forest on a beautiful day. This trail is AWESOME and definitely lives up to the black classification with one very sketchy mandatory obstacle. How is it possible that this FREE public trail is NOT a Jeep Badge of Honor trail!? Were any parts of the day thrilling? I’ve been to some great spots it Tenn and West Virginia. In my experience it’s hard to grasp how steep some of the trails were. Beautiful scenery. Thanks for posting the video

Looks like a good way to spend the weekend. I’ve been wanting to head up but it’s tough to find the time. My daughter went away for the weekend and this was this first thing that came to mind. seems like it would be a great place for me and my wife could go.
How was it? Have you been back ? I’m thinking about going up this weekend? I read somewhere I’d have to take an 1.5 house driving class. Can you shed any light on that? Thanks

This is private property, used occasionally for 12 Gates club member events.
Nice trails, gotta finish my front axle and hit this place up. I’m an hr west of SOR.

Awesome wheeling guys that trail with those rocks I'd be scared to try it running under 37 inch tires it's pretty challenging, in big rock's ground clearance makes for a less stressful adventure LOL.. great video great driving as well guys... 🤙🏼✌🏼

The obstacles that you skipped- I was there spring 2023, a dude in my group had a JK on 40’s with one ton axles- the ruts were so hogged out, had to winch through most of them anyway. Good trail, good video. Maybe I’ll see you out there on the trails.

It’s not a terribly difficult trail, a little high clearance makes it easier. I’d say probably 😅

I grew up riding snowmobiles, four wheelers and 4x4 trucks on all those roads in the national forest. Brings back a lot of memories of partying up there

At the top of Chataguay road there is a pond and small camping area. Your video showed it but there appear to be barriers at the top with a gate. I’m surprised to see that gated off. Was it done by the ATV folks or the forest service?
Oh yeah that open area at the top? I figured it was utility service access. Had no idea there was stuff back there!
Yes it’s national forest for sure. Just surprised to see guardrails up there. Used to be a gate Fish n Game or forest service would randomly open and close. It’s basically an easier trail than the creek bed you fellas went up.

I love sproul st forest I just hate the law that pa passed a couple of years ago now you can only camp in designated spots and you have to pay when I first started going up to the forest you could camp where you wanted In any state forest now you can only do that in Allegheny national I wish there was someway we could start a petition against it and get it back the way it was they have to keep taking everything from us….great video I’ll be watching more
Yea ANF is definitely my favorite for that reason. The state forests are still great for exploring tho!

Amazing down there. I love it every time I visit. I hope they don’t improve Reddish Knob too much. I’ll miss the broken down graffiti lot if it gets all redone

I live nearby and go there every week (Quehanna) I know a few good mud spots, done quite a few videos from there.
Wonder if that crater was from an old oil or gas well they removed?
