Restoration and rebuilding of Dinky, Corgie, and Matchbox diecast toys. Mostly Dinky. I generally like to improve on the original models but sometimes I will try to restore to original condition.

This is a long unboxing, so I made a 4 minute high speed version followed by a normal speed half hour version. I hope this works for everybody. The new editor has a limitation or two, the only one you will notice is the text, and even that is not criti...

Excellent restoration timo,looks really smart
Classy job, Timo; that's a lovely little toy car now. Very clever with the 3D printed interior with window slots......way beyond me I'm afraid. I've been using my cheapo airbrush for yonks now. I put its longevity down to replacing all the rubber o rings and seals with silicone the first time I cleaned it. Great video 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Those additions to the model improved it 1000 %
Great restoration Timmo
Fantastic restoration Timo. Interesting way of making window units. I've started making my own tyres for Matchbox, Corgi, Dinky's with my 3D printer using flexible UV resin. Yes this resin can be slightly expensive, the 2 slicers I use (Chitubox and Lychee) say that the cost of a set of 4 tyres is only a few cents. I've so far made around 160 tyres, and used about 100g of resin from a 500g of flexible UV resin. my 3D printer is a AnyCubic Photon Mono 2. Cheers Michael. P.S mix the Flexible resin with standard UV resin (20 to 1 ratio)makes your print far less brittle.
Jjst watched the short awesome rssto
Awesome resto shes a beauty
Good job mate
Thoroughly enjoyed that restoration mate Love and peace from Ireland
Good refurb as always. I’m glad you printed up the interior so it makes the car look even better.
A beautiful restoration.
Вeautiful work!❤
😍❤️🔥
Complimenti 😃
Outstanding restoration timo,looks brilliant
I never hit the like button cause all it does for me is add the video to my liked videos
Fabulous, Timo! That headlight job was just the ticket. I've started using your axle method myself.... it works a treat and far easier. 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Well done Timo
It looks great
Thanks Austin. I appreciate it. Cheers
Another beautiful restoration
Thanks David. Maybe a bit boring. Cheers
@ Far from boring
57 wagon is a cool ride. Love the paint and detail work
Thanks Neil.
Great color choice detail work is awesome. Googled license plate but no apparent meaning behind it that I could find lol
Thanks Neil. The number plate is nothing clever on this model. It's just the a short form for "Dinky" with the Dinky model number on the second line. Funny thing is, there are a bunch of Dinky models that came with number plates. I haven't been able to discern any meaning from them. I imagine somebody at the factory just made up a random number, never thinking they could have put some imagination into it.🤔
Sharp! Good job as always
Thanks Robert. I appreciate it. Cheers
Nice recovery Timo cheers Michael
Thank you Michael. Cheers

Great idea with the spreader; great influence for others, Timo! Object lesson in thinking and adapting! Love the crate and bottles! What a terrific Code3 result!
Thanks Fraser. Funny thing is, I like making the tools as much as restoring the toys. Cheers
Superb restoration and excellent selection of detailed parts to bring this all together
Thanks Martin. This is one of those toys that is so satisfying to build. Cheers
Excellent restoration Timo nice work well done 👍
Thanks Adrian. I appreciate it.
Watching it come together I was going to write that it would have looked better with dual wheels on the back axle but then seeing it complete, nah, it's perfect just as it is.
Thanks Ellesmere. Dual wheels would be OK, but it is actually supposed to be a pickup truck. I think it looks bigger than it's supposed to because of the pre-war body style. I looked into this vehicle because it intrigues me (and I have at least one more of these) and they actually sold them as a cab and chassis so you could build your own bed or it could be modified by a specialty company as, for example a tow truck. Dinky was clever enough to make several versions including a tow truck and a tipper. Cheers
Nicely done, thanks for the body straightener tip ✌️😎
Thanks Flashback. I have another model that's going to need something bigger! Another tool? Maybe not.
🤩👍👍👍👍
😀 😀
I like it nice job
Thanks Phil. This one was so much fun!
Exquisite 'home brew', Timo........ a genuinely beautiful little creation. Without turning it over, you'd never know that it didn't come out of the box like that. Most enjoyable and a great start to my Saturday! 👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻
Thanks Jack. These are my favourite builds. this one surprised me, big time.
G'day to you Timo, Bravo well done, looks like that's what it was ment to look like, keep up the good work my Friend! Armadale West Aust.
Thanks Paul. Just went on a short trip to Armadale... on Google maps. Looks like a beautiful place to live. Cheers mate.
@@timosdinkydetailing Armadale is just that, lots of little parks at the entrance to our Town, a lot of Scots settled here in the 1800s hence the name, some 38 years ago we lived some 60kms away and would come here every month or so ,we loved its country Town feel, so we Bought a Cottage and we have been here ever since, thanks for taking a interest!
Beautiful transformation timo. Cheers Michael
Thanks Michael. More to come. Cheers
Great transformation, Timo. I use a pair of 3", hand seaming pliers for straightening bent parts. They are made for the sheet metal trade. One good squeeze usually does it.
Thanks Jesterger. I know about those pliers. I guess I should have a look for a pair. Cheers
A beautiful hybrid toy. Do you have a storage box for all the special tools that you have made?
They are in all different places, but I usually know where to find them. Thanks David. Cheers.
Quite a variety. 6 wheel "pressure refueller" is a Leyland Hippo aircraft refueller in RAF colours. Army truck with missing front axle is a Bedford QL 3 ton WW2 type. 1 ton army truck is a Humber. Both Bedford and Humber had an open back, removable tin top with front and sides to simulate a canvas top. Just flat metal folded to form front and side panels with a bottom lip stepped to fit inside the truck body. Front and sides were not quite 90 degree bent to give a little "spring" to help retain the tops. Hope this helps.
Love this. I've been lucky enough to visit Portmeirion, where the show was filmed, on a couple of occasions. Mad, beautiful, eccentric place.
Very well done. Be seeing you! 👌
What a great video
Nice haul, Timo! There are some toys with great potential in that lot....... good viewing ahead 👀 I'm not sure but that horse box came both as a single unit or in a pack with a Land Rover to pull it, i think....... Also not sure but, to my old eyes, thousands of miles distant and on a small screen, that flat-bed trailer might hook on to the 'kid painted' military truck..... Fun and games, anyhoo; Happy New Year, guv'nor.....be seeing you 👌🏻
Thanks for the tip Jack. I hadn't even thought about it. I was going to make that trailer into a bed for one of the truck chassis that is missing a bed. I may pretend you didn't tell me about it. On the other hand, it would be cool to do a complete toy, truck and trailer. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions.
By the way, there is a Land Rover in the lot.
Hi! You seemed surprised by what came out of the box from France. Did you not select these as you purchased? How many Taunus cars do you want? All those incomplete diecasts. Trucks, etc. I was just curious how this parcel originated. Do you ever go to antique malls or swap meets? Best, Stephen
They were mostly from 3 side view photos, so I couldn't always tell what they were. Every one was a Dinky though, and the guy managed to take a couple out of the box before sending it, so I'm not happy about that. Anyhow, the first one I did from that set will be out next weekend, and it turned out fantastic. I get to a few antique shops and second hand stores, but there are precious few suitable toys there. I have a lot to work with for the time being, but I will still keep up the hunt. There used to be toy swap meets in Toronto, but for some reason, I haven't even looked it up since the 80's. Better get on the ball. Cheers
Nice score cheers Michael
Thanks Michael. I have one of them lined up for next weekend. Cheers
Awesome ❤️🔥❤️🔥😍
Thanks, Cheers. Timo😁
Projects a plenty. Timo. Happy New year to you and the family. A good years work ahead by the looks of that lot. Cheers JV
Our family had one of these Sport Sedans. It had the same Patio Roof. It was a Hardtop. No center post. The true sedan was a slope back. It had a center post. We had the hardtop Sport Sedan Patio roof. Rear roof overhang. We had one, So I remember first hand.
I stand corrected. I guess Dinky put that centre post there to help support the roof, which was quite fragile, even with the extra posts.
Fantastic job Timo , nice repair on the pillars , great colour choice. Happy New Year mate
Thanks Lazi. Happy New Year to you too.
The actual car was a hardtop, not a sedan and would not have had center, or "B" posts.
Thanks Jon. I'm pretty sure that in 1959, the Impala would have been available in 4 Door Sedan, 4 Door Sport Sedan (hard top), 2 Door Hard Top, and 2 Door Convertable. This Corgi model looks to be the 4 Door Sedan, since it has 4 doors and centre "B" posts, cast right in. To get the "hardtop look", Corgi would have shown the separate front and back windows with a line on the plastic "glass" insert. I suppose it could also be a 4 Door Biscayne, or a Bel Air, but the box titles it as an Impala.
A lovely repair and restoration on this Impala. I love the tiny 3D printed front pillars/windows you made and the interior fixing plate. Great colour too. Happy New Year Timo.
Thanks Richard. I enjoy the challenge of these damaged castings. Have a great New Year.
