Dinky 449 El Camino Restoration, Redux

- This is an exciting video for me. I am restoring my own, very first Dinky toy.
I have improved much of my equipment so this will be a noticeably better quality video than my previous ones.
I hope you enjoy it.
This is a redux because I tried to keep this video monetized by deleting the music and much of the voiceover, but I am not able to be monetized because I am a Canadian, small time channel. (short answer)
As a result, the original, very popular video lacks sound for much of it.
This video has all the original sound and music.
I will be doing a number of redux versions until I have all my original videos back on line.

Not only a great restoration but also an excellent video showing your techniques with great clarity.
Thanks David. Maybe I need to make all my videos as detailed as this one. Some say people like shorter ones. Maybe I'll do a comparison. Cheers
@@timosdinkydetailing Difficult decision to make. I like the detail that you show but I can understand that many people prefer a shorter overview and that may well mean more views/video for less time spent editing. You do what suits you and I think your fans will continue to enjoy your videos.
Totally agree with David, it's superb restoration and video. I've just finished doing one of these and I too found it difficult to remove all the original paint. Well done Timo. 👍👍
Looks amazing Timo love the colour another beautiful restoration well done 👍.
Thanks Adrian. Getting that turquoise colour right was a bear. I still can see the difference compared with the mint model I have, but by itself, it looks perfect. Cheers
Nice work on the window pillars and dashboard, excellent restoration
Thanks Martin. fixing that stuff is some of the more rewarding work. cheers
Beautiful job Timo, the colours are perfect, fantastic finish ,love it .cheers Laz
Thanks Lazi. That may be my favourite video. Cheers
Beautiful you are blessed I am in South Africa and we don't get tyres so I went and bought o-rings which looks great...
Thank you , and, great solution for Dinky Tyres, using O-rings. I also figured that out, and use them for many models. Cheers
I always enjoy you restoring these rough models. As a side note, I have a near perfect version of your Holden in a medium and light tan.
Thanks David. That Holden is a nice model, but mine sat on a shelf with all that other paint on it, for years. It sure looked crappy.
Beautiful restoration timo cheers Michael
Thanks mate.
Lot of work there Timo, nice outcome and colour.
Thanks Kevin. Cheers
Keep your stick on the Ice, in lieu of "Be seeing you." Early version? I enjoyed your pick-up project. The Aqua and white paint job is beautiful. For as important as this model is to you, Timo...order the replacement glass asap! Your hard work deserves it's new glass!! Older, different processes were fun to watch. You would probably do a new 3D printed interior now. How about some Solido, Spot On, or Mercury race cars restored. They need your professional touch!! Your trick hammer, parallel pliers, and trick file!! Conquering the "chewy" post metal!! Be Seeing you...!❤ Stephen
You can see how my methods have changed "Eh"?
I would like to work on some of the other diecast makers, but I don't see too many of them where I look. Maybe I need to change my search. cheers
Noice restore, I sure I see this vid b4 cheers Graham
Yep. You saw it before. It was my second restoration, and was the reason i started doing this at all.
I had to re-release it because I once removed some of the sound in order to protect my monetization. Doesn't matter anymore. Sigh.
Terrific repairs! School Day example, Timo! Brilliant video.
I did an El Camino recently, and whilst it would be nicer as a 1959 model, like the Corgis, as a 1960 model, it is a great casting. Iconic.
Great result, Sir! Just one question: is the 99.99% alcohol cleaner, a Vodka I should have been told about?
I did mine to Code3 with a dark red roof and dark red interior, and a Teak bed: it looked the part. The original was an actual factory colour scheme.
Thanks Fraser. Those Chevys were the bee's Knees. Cheers
