Sadly, mp3 players have gone out of fashion. It's all streaming now. But, as this watch is open source, I see no reason you couldn't develop your own player.

How can anybody think that it is a good idea to explain operational semantics using arithmetic, which is basically just pointless wrapping of + - × ÷ into "+" "-" "×" and "÷"? Especially when you even didn't mention that for + and "+" you are using the same symbol +.

I have seen that battery problem in other latops, even on establish brands like thinkpad, I had a Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 2 and it had this problem, left it without charge for a night and then it took an entire day of charge to boot again. I think this is ridiculous for any brand.

I want to order one but have a question, is it possible to install Windows xp so that's the os that boots when it's powered on? I'm not sure if the specs out the box are ok for this. I need it for old audio editing software. This seems like the solution to not get outdated again between cpu and vm combos that won't run XP. Thanks

Are you using the laptop more, now with the battery upgrade? Or is it still something mostly to tinker with. I know the Dev just teased a new drop in SOC upgrade, 16gb of Ram and an actually decent GPU. That sounds exciting

Resolved. My solution was, contrary to the mounting instructions, to CLOSE the keyboard fully and then pry it open. There are no UNmounting instructions in the little manual that came with it, but thats how I did it. Worked pretty easily with that method.

Thats an awesome way to explain that whether we are technical or not, political or not, we have to be aware and adjust to the systems we use and adhere to. It's not about reading the Eula or T&Cs to understand a company (even though it is telling) for better and for worse. We have to now govern the platforms we use and actually justify using them rather than to mindlessly buy/use them. Because we have gotten to the point that technology isn't a fun supplemental toy to use in life, it sadly IS life now.

My pinephone has been a mere dust collector for over a year now. The hardware is just way too cheap, crappy and slow. Even if the software would one day become mature, when you have to wait 30 seconds for your browser to open that's just not something you want to keep using.

Also they improved the heart rate monitoring accuracy with firmware 1.13. They have also optimized the battery life a lot, now you can get up to a full week on 1 single charge according to them. Not sure about the pedometer (step counter) though, I'm sure it gets improvements every release, though I'm not 100% sure. Only downside I really see to this watch is the hardware is super weak, they need to seriously refresh the hardware with a v2, while the hardware isnt terrible, its also not the best. And its almost limiting development. As they are constrained to such a small space and so little ram. Even if a v2 was 20$ extra I would buy it, so hopefully they come out with a v2 sooner rather than later. As i genially love the watch, its open sourced small and compact. And it doesn't spy on you!

Seeing Waze installed on your phone was a huge red flag for me, as I already knew it's a google product. I'm really surprised Rob would consider Waze as the gps app. I've been using Here We Go as my gps of choice, and it works for me. Not sure it's a google product, but definitely my favorite gps app over the rest. Is there any way to disable Waze on that phone? Also: he instals duck duck go for the default browser? Another red flag for me, as I have heard mixed reviews about that browser. I have been using Brave for a few years now, and am satisfied. Thank you for this review. I was considering getting a phone from Rob, but now I'm re-considering finding someone else to get a completely de-googled phone from.
