You should check out Pachuca/Rel del Monte an hour drive from Mexico City. This is my grandfathers birthplace and home to Pastes. Pastes were brought to the region by Cornish miners and were known to them as pasties. Real del Monte is a Pueblo Mágico and has Cornish influence in its architecture. I think you’ll enjoy the variety of pastes offered in Real del Monte, Hidalgo.

Rubi is a great telenovela. One of the rare ones where the villain is also the protagonist. Telenovelas have gone downhill after the 2000s sadly but there are some gems . The 2020s however have not been kind. Unpopular opinion but the Maria trilogy sucks

Pedro Infante was the Mexican artist heartthrob of the era. Until this day he is still remembered. I believe he died in 1957 in a plane crash.

Who is against this magnificent project are the oligarchs and very rich business people who had neglect that area of the country so much, they hire celebrities and the comercial media (tv and radio) to speak against, they hate poor people get a better life with progress. The government is been very careful planting millions of trees and building fauna passages along the railroad. I'm a Mexican living in USA and I'm very happy of seen this huge infrastructure government projects getting done, AIFA, Olmeca Refinery and Tren Maya among many others.
