You should check out Pachuca/Rel del Monte an hour drive from Mexico City. This is my grandfathers birthplace and home to Pastes. Pastes were brought to the region by Cornish miners and were known to them as pasties. Real del Monte is a Pueblo Mágico and has Cornish influence in its architecture. I think you’ll enjoy the variety of pastes offered in Real del Monte, Hidalgo.
