🇺🇸🎇🇺🇸 Memorial Day Tool Haul - A New Rollcart!!! 🇺🇸🎇🇺🇸
Just came across your channel. Enjoy how in-depth you went on your tour! Also like hearing you talk about Garage Journal. Haven't been active on the site in sometime, but thinking I might return. Got a few good tools in the shopping cart from your video(Warner striking scrapers, worker rivet assortment, Mac tools oil filter wrench and more) Was disappointed you skipped over your on hand fluids etc. you keep in your hutch. Would be cool to see a video from you talking shop supplies and why you choose what you choose, towels, aerosols, nuts/bolts connectors etc. Seems silly, but lately I've been working to build stock at home to prevent project finish being delayed, by missing hardware that requires a hardware store run. Have been busy printing out hardware bins on my 3d printer to store stock. I also appreciate hearing a professional talk about what products they use. I'd heard of tub-o-towels, but forgot about them before your video. Wondering if you might have any other useful nuggets I could glean off of you. Thanks!
That’s an interesting idea, the fluids.
The Auto industry stopped using Helicoils for drain plugs to save money. Drain plug will snap before you strip out the hole. The boss wanted to know what it would take to strip one out and I gave him a broken plug.
Good video, i may need to helicoil my engine block where the bellhousing bolts in... Damn aluminum blocks
My father had one of those. I had no idea what it was but I had a lot of fun playing with it growing up;.
Did u take any aleves with you?
heli coil... that should be your absolute last ditch effort to save a threaded hole.
@@PaithanMycerinus yup.
On the snap on punch set- you will have way more impact transfer with the tapered punch to break the pin or bolt free.
You should try the Astro Nano rachetts. Super high quality, very durable. And come in all three sizes.
I've been looking at the same Hazet. They're very nice
Hazet has a unique combination of style and performance that I dig. Their ratchets are tough as nails. I love your channel. Good stuff.
I used to be a master mechanic for 4 manufacturers and I bought the versa pack at lowes online for 50% off for a set of tools for in the truck or cabin. The new ratchets look like nice and the handle won't dig into your hand like the old style. More teeth are nice but often at the price of more drag, so having both is nice for commonly used ratchets. Not much of a concern if you use the socket to finish removing the bolt. I've noticed over the past decade the quality of hand tools has improved for some of the cheaper name brands. Have a bunch of USA made Craftsman and I imagine these new ones are as good or good enough. Only tools I ever bought off a tool truck were the ones I planned on breaking, just so I didn't have to go anywhere to exchange it. Snap-On sockets break just the same as Craftsman back then, often needed a thin walled socket on an impact which tends to crack them.
Appreciate the info. Good read!
Always enjoy the Enthusiasm Aus!
And I always appreciate your comments! Here’s to an awesome 2025.
Thought i would use them more than i actually do…
I forget to use the 0 and 1 partly because I owned the others for years and partly because they aren’t in my regular pliers rack. The only size I use fairly often is 2. 3 I’ve used twice on actual plumbing. Beyond that, maybe a couple alignments and a side project.
@ I was so excited to buy them (my dealer is a close friend and gets me every time 😂). I do nothing but heavy duty truck and trailer, ford and dodge pickups, forklifts and hydraulics. It’s a poultry processing plant fleet shop, so it may just be my application. But they do look nice lined up in the drawer with all my large knipex and adjustable wrenches 😂
How long did it take to get your order from Misterworker? Was it just the single item in that order?
@@BZEUG it took about two weeks. The follow on order only took a few days. First order: 1. Hazet sockets 2. Hazet T-Handle Second order: Hazet ratchet 1/2” in 3/8” body
@@asmautollc Ok, good to know. I had placed an order with them last year and after a month nothing shipped. I canceled the order.
They occasionally run into issues navigating international shipping, but they are extremely adept at it. The main issue is their site is a little glitchy. The best thing to do is email or call them maybe a week or so after ordering. They are great to deal with once you connect with them. They have emailed me with issues like “we don’t have a phone number on file and the carrier won’t ship until we get one.” You miss that email and things grind to a hault lol.
Its a nice upgrade over the super chunky fat standard ratchet they used to sell. Unfortunately not the whole line was upgrade. Lol i agree with the backdrag comment. Those people love to complaint about everything, down to how a ratchet sounds.
Well said.
No astro pneumatics gadgets?!!? They release some WILD stuff but it's all "practical" in the world of hand tools.
I don’t know about “wild”, but they do have plenty of useful tools, many of which I own. But this is a tool haul, not a tour.
Whoa hes a time traveler
@@joebojanic1905 I guess that’s how ready I am to put 2024 in the rear view mirror.
I got the Hazet combination 🔧 set w/ the satin finish and they are beautiful tools almost don’t wanna use them but who can resist but with so much tools I have I only use them for more cleaner applications. Great channel BTW been following since the beginning.
@@eliezerramosjr1017 thx, they are truly beautiful wrenches! I have two of the double open ended wrenches that are thin by design that my Carlyle thin wrench set was missing. They are waaaaayyyy nicer than any other thin wrench set I’ve seen. Maybe Snap On comes close. Don’t know, would buy Hazet complete set first!
Astro makes a slide hammer vise grip. I got one for rusted air brake slack adjuster clevis pins.
Astro makes a slide hammer vise grip. I got one for air brake slack adjuster rusted clevis pins.
@@billcovert3473 I’ve seen that. It’s probably a better move than what I did. I spent $40 on two high end adapters. But at least I can cover 2 sizes, the 10” and the 8”, and already owned the Pittsburgh mini kit which I do like overall.
I own the Astro one as well. It’s fantastic. I did swap out the pliers with a pair of eagle grips. Not because the Astro pliers were bad, I just love the eagle grips.
That t handle is one of my daily go to items.
Good to know. It feels awesome in the hand.
I have like a 5 dollar Set that I’ve had for years. No issues
@@justinhayward5027 I had a no name pair that was pretty decent without the teeth. It would sometimes slip. I gave them to an entry level tech and used USA Craftsman (rebranded Lisle) for a while, but it was only a two piece set. This set with the teeth is a clear upgrade though both of the previous sets I was satisfied with.
Naptown tuner spends alot of my money
He’s quite skilled at that lol.
That’s a nice hex set. Happy new years
Thermal arc or thermodynamic is a great welder
That’s good to know. It has performed very well for the last 4 years. Only reason the Lincoln sat at home!
My Klein SAE nut driver set aren’t magnetic, they might have trim levels. Klein just released a nice 11 in 1 MM nut driver. It has a different satin finish and color coding. Nice to see them offering more metric options
@@JV-wl6ex yeah Klein does offer both magnetic and non-magnetic in SAE. Not sure why they don’t offer both in metric.
Reminds me of Tekton's 1/4in ratchet. Not usually an impulse buyer but I just had to have it.
I also can’t seam to find a uv die prescription glasses anywhere
Can you scan obd1 as well if not what do you use for that
@@spencermorrow2899 you can but you need an adapter from OBD2 to OBD1 and of course the adapter for the OBD1 connector on the vehicle. I use this adapter from Snap On which is technically for my Zeus but probably works with any scan tool, including the Autel, that includes OBD1 coverage. I have an old Snap On OBD1 set that I use with it. That being said, Autel does offer OBD1 kits for their scan tools themselves: shop.snapon.com/product/ZEUS™-Accessories/OBD-I-DA-6-Cable-Adaptor/EAX0068L27A
I got my first hazet torque wrenches and hazet is bad ass love the videos man
@@salstoolsandvlog thanks, yeah, I LOVE Hazet tools. Definitely on the top tier of tool companies.
D2 is the name of the steel the Icon knife is made from. I guess I should say I prefer the properties of 440C, not that it’s necessarily better. I had a couple things backwards now that I remember what the Icon knife is made from. D2 will hold an edge longer if well formed due to higher hardness, while 440C is easier to sharpen and resists corrosion much better. It also tends to be less brittle, but it really depends on the heat treatment. Both have their advantages as well as their devotees in the knife community.
I remember making that video lol
Tools is a worst addiction rhen drugs , but oh so sweet.
That plastic case wont have a chance in Naptown tuners hand , five minutes at the most . I love that guy .Thanks for the video.
It’s actually pretty sturdy. He’d have to go out of his way to break it (famous last words haha).
When I’m giving sizes, keep in mind these are the thread sizes, not the bolt head sizes. So I am referring to M10 and M8 metric sizes in regards to the 10” and 8” vice grips, respectively.
Forgot to mention this Icon light was a 12 Days of Christmas item as well. It is an amazing light and worth it even when not on sale: www.harborfreight.com/2100-lumen-led-rechargeable-magnetic-compact-floodlight-black-59170.html
I know the feeling. I got a problem too. 🤣 Cool video.
nice stuff kool tools
I bought my first Koken and LOVE it! Nice video.
Happy New Year Aus ; hoping you have a profitable year.
Thanks, I hope so too! And same to you.
What’s the Proto tool part #?
JFF1700
I actually own and use the made in taiwan gear wrench flex head racheting box end combination MM set that ive been actively using for 20 plus years
I really like the Craftsman V-Series. As a pro tech i get criticized for using Craftsman in general. I do own Snap-On Combination wrenches and SK long reach rachiting box wrenches, Craftsman USA, Craftsman Professional Series stuff, Matco stuff, and Milwaukee cordless stuff. But i really like the V-Series stuff and the Craftsman Overdrive tools are great too.
Agreed. People are willing to pay more for basically the same thing off the Mac truck, or branded Facom and USAG. The ratchets controversy has been somewhat entertaining but overplayed. So many TH-cam “mechanics” and tool “experts” crapping on them. They’ll have a redemption arc when they take up the “positions versus backdrag” argument or actually use them. TH-cam drama demands it.
I want a small cantilever box
Nice tour !! Where can I buy that magnetic pad that’s holding ur mini pry tools on the lid of your roll cart ? Thanks in advance !
@@mesiken487 it’s from Snap On. Check their website.
Happy Thanksgiving Aus!!
@@stefanczechorskidds8435 happy Thanksgiving to you!
If the drawers came out further, I might consider getting one. I like the idea for drill bits and other small things
Might as well get one. To make them extend further would require custom-made 5- or 6-piece slides that no one is going to make for these. Place your items inline with the depth and it's no issue.
Facom and USAG make those wrenches for Craftsman those are the same as the old Mac Precision wrenches the ones they use now or the xL versions i think 440 xL
I have a Crescent USA hand hacksaw it was my grandpas and it does have a Steret blade in it lol
Hey Aus! Your content looks awesome - cant wait to watch some of your other 'tool haul' videos. Love your bolt bin!
