cool haul! thanks for craftsman professional/sk wrench tip... i often wondered the whos/who on maker
Aus, the best way I have found to use the T handles (Torx and Hex or Triple square) is to make, or purchase, a wooden rack and mount it to the wall by your box. I agree with you that they take up way to much space in a drawer ; also you will find that you will use them Much more if they are conveniently mounted for quick access. Thanks again for the Update!
To many skips and ratchets are horrible with way to much backdrag
Couldn’t disagree more on the ratchets. The mechanisms are tight and smooth, and the ratchets are solid. My one complaint is the handles on the 1/4” and 3/8” could be a little longer, and I would have liked to see the set go with a bit more length on the 1/4” and 3/8”. The 1/4” is 9” long, the 3/8” is 14” long, and the 1/2” is 17” long. On the backdrag, my 1/4” and 3/8” have very little. The 1/2” has quite a bit, but, in use, it’s been a non-factor. And the skips on the wrenches aren’t a big deal at this price point. For most people, the only one they will really miss is the 15. To a lesser extent, the 16. With the money they will save, they can buy an individual in any brand and still come out ahead.
@@asmautollcpeople just want to complain about craftsman. The standard they have for the brand is higher for some reason. Nothing but perfection at a cheap price 😂. For the price these are moving it's just ridiculous to complain.
THIS CONTENT IS KILLER I KEEP WATCHING AND KEEP COMMENTING LOL
Sunex is some top end stuff dont knock it i have some 25 year old sunex impact sets that are still the shit!!! I just assumed your in WA state cause of the Seahawks coleres in your shop LOL Im in Lake Tapps Area myself.
They are decent, but there are better options. Price wise, they have been one of the best options. Did you catch my “Taiwan” reference? They have recently moved much if not all of their production to China, so we will see if they continue to be good value for the money.
Id call V series the SK that SK should be now but is not.
Agreed. I hope SK and Craftsman both onshore again.
i cleaned Federal Way wa LOWES i now own every ratchet, socket, set scredrivers, double box ends, combination wrench set ratcheting LOL I OWN all of thanks IDIOTs at LOWES. IM a huge OLD school V and VV - G series guy but this new V series is nice, do yourself a favor and submerge your sealed ratchets in some gear oil and run them with a drill chuck to get some lube into them, they will lube i assure you- it goes in through the forward reverse selector. You must be in WA you talk like an intelligent Washingtonian like myself, although my grammar sucks. LOL V series at a discount is must buy. Yeah i bought the 4 piece ratchet set and the 3 piece long set and the 3 piece long comfort grip. LOL Federal way Lowes still has a lot of ratchets like at least 20 of the flex head 1/2 drive ratchets and a ton of the 3/8 flex heads they are all $20 each Im going to nab some more Today. Get the srewdriver -bit driver combo as well its 20 bucks couple in Fed Way as well. I got those screwdrivers from Falcom they are pretty nice- stamped made in France LOLI had already picked up the 3/8 & 1/2 drive metric and SAE long socket sets few years ago so i was set on those
@@AlexJonesWasRight1776 I wouldn’t call them idiots. The V Series weren’t selling how they’d hoped, so they figured out how to get them into people’s hands and create some positive marketing buzz for Craftsman. I think the real key to bringing Craftsman back back is the Made in USA label. Hopefully Stanley gives it another go and figures it out with better economics around it.
@@asmautollc that's exactly what's going on, getting them in people's hands. The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive so far. They need to fix the issues and improve the pricing to match it's closest competition (HF, tekton). I'm convinced that's what they're doing, reduce old inventory and release the new stuff in 2025.
They are nice tools, bought the 3 piece ratchet set. But what's with all the skips in the wrench sets!? So annoying!
Skips are due mainly to the price and where they got the tools. Most of the V line is rebranded Facom/USAG. Those Stanley brands are mainly sold in Europe, they are high quality not cheap at all. But why complain, at those prices there is nothing to complain about. Take advantage of the low prices. Craftsman is probably going to fix the line and improve the sizing.
Gonna have to get online and checkout Lowes now... I have the regular standard combo wrenches in mm and they've been handy just cuz they're more like a mid-length compared to my Mac Precision Torques. T'was gonna nab me some of those overdrive CM wrenches but came across a pretty good deal on some of the Mac RBRT wrenches, but MdLee has the overdrives and he can't stop talking about them.
You can't beat those v series prices. I picked up those same wrench sets and I am thinking about going back for some ratchets
Do it. I picked up the long flex head ratchet set. Totally worth it, they are really nice.
Really nice haul... Great tools 👍
how did you get shoes over it the 2nd time?
I pulled the hub and bearing assembly out. Only way to avoid any deformation.
@@asmautollc bad design..
same as 04 monte?
Not sure. Haven’t seen one of those in a while!
@@asmautollc it looks different..hmm
Your tool hauls are always great! I envy being able to buy so frequently and use them. Since moving on from mechanic work, I only really use a few sockets, ratchets and screwdrivers here and there at home. But, somehow I justify buying snap on tools here and there lol
Thanks Aus, great descriptions as usual!
I believe those are Norseman bit i forgot what there call there hyperstep version
I’m not sure they did brand it other than the brand name they use on all the “magnum super premium” lines. Seems like they just call it a “twist” drill in descriptions.
Biggest problem I had them with is the handles would slide off
Great haul
Great video 👍
Good stuff. Thanks for the look
Mac has a 1/4" semi deep impact socket set, SMMIP126TR
@@andrewscott8892 yeah someone else mentioned that as well. I had never seen or some across it prior to the Cornwell.
@@asmautollcI like cornwell impact sockets especially their universal impacts I was able to score the BOGO with the locking impact extension set you have in the ratchet drawer and the 1/4" semi deep set for $294 from the April or May flyer
Or you could throw that Fill-Rite sticker right over the chinese name...
I sure do miss the hay day of the steals and deals...also kinda miss the Craftsman Exodus from Sears.
Me too. The Steals and Deals were bittersweet but I definitely miss hunting for USA and NOS Craftsman at my local Sears, Hometown, and Hardware and working their coupons like my life depended on it lol.
I actually did not get to pick up one of those sets of CM Industrial. I know I told everyone about them, everyone that would listen, and before I could cash out my cart they were gone. I remember getting the email when they cancelled my order because they didn't have any in stock. One of the saddest days of my #dealalert tool buying career. And now I guess I'll have to upload a video...pretty sure I still have some waiting to be edited.
That sucks! I thought you did score a set before they sold out. I regretted not picking up the pinless swivel Matco clones and ended up buying the Matco version for 6 times the cost.
This is the tool channel I go to for new tools.
@@HardKnocksForge hey man, how are you doing?
@@asmautollc I’m good, just busy is all. Hadn’t been getting notifications for a couple of years and didn’t really mind too much, and I mean NO notifications from anyone. pwz0’s are just under $100, how do they do for moderately seized tie rods? i wanna get either pwz0 or the ya2222/2223 combo
@@joeym.7642 they are great for tie rods and alignments. And just nice to have around. I’ve even used them for actual plumbing.
I love the fact that they use dewalt batteries. Not only does it give it a different look that I kinda dig, but it makes it so you don’t have to change your entire battery ecosystem just for 1 or 2 tools.
Great Deals you got their Aus you sure know how to find and locate them! Didnt realize that about chiefs being mayhew and warranty factor! thanks for heads up! Great Upload!
Nepros ratchets suck. They are beautifully finished, and the chroming is phenomenally done, but they are shitty ratchets. I have had several of them do what happened to you in this video and have had several of them lock up in the gearing as well. They come dry as a bone, and they aren't all there chalked up to be. I had a little run where i bought about 7 or 8 of them, and 3 of them locked up on me. I swapped them out and 2 of them did the same exact thing. It seems to be mainly on the flex head nepros ratchets, but i had a fixed head do it too. They came from several different sellers too, so it wasn't all purchased from the same place. The back drag isn't all that great either, and they are super choppy in my opinion. My vim ratchets have better back drag than the nepros. The flex heads are all quick release too, which is a pita. Anybody that says nepros is the snap-on of Japan has never used a koken. As i mentioned, they are gorgeous looking ratchets, but a pretty ratchet isn't what im looking for when purchasing ratchets. Its a nice plus, but not what i care about. After a few months of use, all tools look like shit anyway lol. If you think that sk is the best roto head you've ever used, you should check out the ktc roto head. It's the best roto head on the market, in my opinion. It's funny because ktc is a nepros subsidiary. It's such a nice roto head ratchet though, and the back drag is absolutely phenomenal!! The only roto head ratchet that has better back drag is the koken roto head ratchet.
I own the KTC roto. SK still wins. Nice tool though.
And you still think that big ass, bulky sk ratchet still wins? Sk made and still makes shitty tools. They were made in the US, but that doesn't mean that they are automatically great tools. Sk has terrible chroming issues, inner broaching problems on their sockets, a ton of QC issues, and their ratchets were absolute trash. They were big and bulky, had terrible back drag, and were way outdated. Even their flagship lp 90s had a ton of problems. There is a reason that they went down the drain and were sold to a Chinese company. Most of their tools sucked. They were usa made, but most tools were usa made back when armstrong was still around. To each their own I suppose. Were all allowed to have our own opinions and like what we like 👍
At the bottom of the VIM 3/4" is a ring that pulls out the tool to change the head
Nice haul 👍 crimper looks good
Thanks for showing and explaining that crimper, I’ve been eyeballing it for a while. I’d also appreciate seeing it in action if you don’t mind

Aus is the low key tool king of TH-cam!! Love your videos buddy, thank you!
Thanks, that’s a heck of a compliment. I’m coming out with another video real soon that I think you’ll enjoy!
Great info. Aus! Really appreciate the cornwell crimper!
Hey man! I need to do my fuel lines on my 06 LJ Rubi thats been sitting a little to long with bad gas. I wanna do it front to back. Did you buy a kit, or just make your own? Any suggestions? ... One last question lol, If you had to buy just one Eratchet, would it be that insider? Im just backyard, so Id rather just buy one...Nice haul! Love that crimper! 👍 Btw, I've gotta OG 92 Renegade with the pimpin 'ground effects', doing a full restoration on that as well. Absolutely love the YJ's
My steel lines are still good. I only needed to replace the rubber lines from the tank to the steel lines and found hoses pre cut for a similar purpose at NAPA that were identical to my original lines. If replacing your hard lines, I’d suggest buying the pre shaped lines. As to the ratchet, yeah, if you buy just one, make it the Insider.
@@asmautollcRight on, thanks! I was wonder if you did just the rubber. I can probably get away with that as well. I don't have any rust issues so that should be fine. I think I'll pull the trigger on that insider too. That box of yours is sick, amazing choices. Best of the best from every brand, nice work man👍
I am looking to buy an Autel but they offer so many different models it is hard to know what to pick. I mainly do bench programming for automotive control modules I rebuild. Only diagnostic I really do is on my own vehicles maybe once or twice a year.
omg this video started out in 144p I was like wtf kinda potato is this guy using to record until I switched rez

It is overengineered for a bit ratchet (not that that's a bad thing); probably the nicest overall quality in a bit ratchet I've seen.
