What you referred to as cabinet screw bits, are often known as hollow ground bits. The point being they are not tapered, but straight and wont cam out of screws under load. And thanks, you cost me $82 for the screwdriver set!😆
I believe the tech on the tip of the red Vessel driver is call (by them) JAWSFIT. I was researching the best driver set the other day and landed on these as well... you get JIS, Stricking cap, bolster nut and grip technology with a nice durable , easy clean comfortable grip... what more could you want in a screwdriver!?? I bought a full set (#9308EVA). Also grabbed a chisel driver (No.970) with yellow handle and the same #2/#3 impacta you have👍 holy grail screwdriver set IMHO! Lol They also have a really nice trim pry tool with same yellow handle... 970 (CR×120)
I definitely agree with you as far as value goes, I think the Vessel, and most reputable Japanese manufacturers, make as good, or better than most high end US/German made tools. Except for pliers in some instances lol. Love the koken socketry though!
They got these ¼" bits at menards for drywall guns in the drill accessories aisle i think theyre labeled PZ but they work flawlessly on both JIS and phillips fasteners and they're the budget brand
Interesting. I believe those are Pozi-Drive if you're talking about the Performax Pozi-Drive bit set (PZ1 PZ2 PZ3). Those are technically for Pozi-Drive screws and shouldn't technically work with JIS or Phillips as they have a ridge between the blades that should prevent them from seating in the fastener.
I work on older Toyotas and my screwdrivers are all Vessel or Apex JIS. However in your first demonstration of fit on a phillips fastener you claim that the Vessel is superior by showing how the screw doesn't fall off the tip like it did on the Snap On screwdriver. However at 1:46 and 2:52 you can clearly see the Vessel is magnetized. This obviously significantly aids in keeping the screw on the tip of the screwdriver. So while it is known, and true, that JIS screwdrivers often perform better in phillips fasteners, the method in which you tried to prove this is not valid.
Any JIS screwdriver whether magnetized or not will retain a Phillips screw in this fashion. The method is valid, regardless of the experimental oversight.
That impacta is not even straight flutes when you hit it it turns. I buy my vessel stuff at fasteners inc in San Jose. A customer spoke/ read Japanese and read the packaging to me like a year ago. If you buy a set of megadoras you will not use your snap ons any more. They are instantly noticeably better. PB Swiss and Wiha are better too and pb Swiss is probably the best. Especially for small stuff. That’s all I have for screwdrivers in my bag now is pb Swiss and vessel. I have #1&2 square plus wera screwdrivers too. They seem to fit square/ Robertson fasteners best like the jis/ iso rated bits do Phillips
When I was saying “controller” towards the end of the video, I was referring to the connector to the EGR controller, not the controller itself.

Good point.

Yes, I recall that now, “JAWSFIT”. I think you hit a home run with your purchasing decisions there.

@@asmautollc481 no there is no ridge between the blades on these bits
I use my vessel jis all the time working on dirtbikes
Thanks Aus.
