Guess we learned what would happen if the Imperial Guard fought the Zerg…sorry the “Human Defence Force” 😂 I’ve never been in love with OPR’s random objectives each round. I personally prefer the objectives being more evenly spread around the map or something you have a whole game to try and achieve.

I'm currently writing a spinoff story of my dark sci fi/fantasy novel. The spinoff is cultist focused so it's pretty damn dark. So l'm sure how to make things grim dark💀. (EVIL LAUGHTER)!

I love your batreps, I love your armies, I love your voice, your style... but for some reason, those pebbles around your terrain pieces always, always annoy me :P your table is beautiful, but those random pebbles that are obviously unpainted and just strewn around add nothing, only detract from the amazing look of your videos. Hope you don't take it the wrong way, this is a very small nitpick, and the only thing I can even remotely critique, which speaks volumes about the overall quality of your videos! Keep it up!

Is it just me, or did you make a mistake with the first activation? The guy said that the tank's main gun has blast 3 and I think you have have missed it.

I really like how you call out house rules as they happen- they all seem totally reasonable but the heads up that it’s not the official rule is helpful for learning.

We’ve added a house rule based upon model size. 1, 2 or 3. Models can shoot and be shot over models that are smaller sizes.

Hmm.. I'm.. gonna have to disagree start to finish. First off GW didn't 'start as grimdark and toned down'. GW started as heavy-metal slapstick and went grimdark. Noise Marines, Orks, Squats, very little was 'serious'. Then GW went more 'serious' for the competitive circuits until yea, everything is just depressing. As a Slaanesh / Drukhari player everything (books, codexes, etc) is still super-grim-dark, what's being tuned out is the humor, sexiness, and 'Metal!'. As for why its being lost... GW has zero interest in 'being sold at Target'. They are not priced to be sold at Target and never will be. GW's trajectory and pricing model is entirely aimed at catching whales, not netting guppies. They don't even care to retain their current base with their prices or how they treat local shops selling GW products. They are trying to diversify into media but that's nothing new, they had their own music label for a while. They also experiment, but their money is solid in tabletop and what they make off of licensing to video games, with a bit from books. Do they want more players? Who doesn't. And you Need new blood for a hobby to stay alive. But are they changing anything lore-wise to 'appeal to the kids'? Lol! Now, are there changes that are more in line with modern mores? Yea. Because there are always some things from previous generations that are just absolutely not ok for new ones, and if you don't adapt a bit you die. Its not saying you can't be 'grimdark', its that some topics become off limits (at least for a while, right after societies deal with recent traumas or go through changes). There are scenes in 'Revenge of the Nerds' that you absolutely cannot sell now as 'just being funny', but comedy coming-of-age movies are still made. There are certainly some comics that were totally fine before Germany's 'visit to their neighbors' that became absolutely horrific to consider afterward. Jokes about 'that Other group' that 'could never be as good as My group' become cringe. The world moves on. And developers who have to write the stuff and make the models move on. And there's always room for grimdark, for body-horror, and so on... without needing to date our hobby until its only grey-beards sitting around the table grumbling about the good-old-days. Frankly, personally, I would kinda like GW to pull back from grimdark a smidge and make some room for humor again, for narration over competition, and to (as Baldermort puts it) 'make some time for fun'. The real world is getting too grimdark, and monochrome paintings get dull if you never add any splashes of color.
