Today we’re batching what Jeffrey Morganthaler says is one of his best cocktail recipes, the Flannel Shirt. We agree, this cocktail is simultaneously a unique combination of ingredients, and a perfectly balanced cocktail built expressly for the cooler, winter months.

Recipe for the 12 servings:
- 2 oz Liber & Co. [**Demerara Gum Syrup**](www.liberandcompany.com/products/demerara-gum-syrup)
- 21 oz scotch whiskey (blended recommended, as opposed to single malt)
- 6 oz amaro ([**Averna**](curiada.com/products/amaro-averna) recommended)
- 18 oz apple cider
- 3 oz lemon juice
- 1 barspoon allspice dram
- 24 dashes aromatic bitters
- 18 oz chilled water (we’re not adding ice into the punch bowl, so this water is to replicate the dilution that occurs when shaking a single serving with ice.)
Recipe for a single serving:
- barspoon Liber & Co. [**Demerara Gum Syrup**](www.liberandcompany.com/products/demerara-gum-syrup)
- 1 ¾ oz scotch whiskey (blended recommended, as opposed to single malt)
- ½ oz amaro ([**Averna**](curiada.com/products/amaro-averna) recommended)
- 1 ½ oz apple cider
- ¼ oz lemon juice
- ½ barspoon allspice dram
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker
- Add ice and shake hard for 20 seconds
- Strain into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice
