I made this and you can adjust it all to taste for a slightly different character each time. This is a wonderful post afternoon nap pick me up leading into a chill evening.
Its always the Mr Black brand everywhere but I have to say that Grind Espresso Shot coffee liqueur tastes fantastic and is what I prefer to use in cocktails.
question: Mr Black isn't available where I live, and since I've never tried it, I have no idea what its flavour profile is. What would you suggest as a suitable substitute?
There are a lot of great coffee liqueurs out there nowadays. In a pinch you could go with Kahlua, but it's worth exploring and seeing what other coffee liqueurs are available in your market. Mr. Black is one high-quality option where the coffee profile is distinct and refined.

Made with my own pineapple rum and coffee liqueur - too plain and watery, need to try once again
Maybe espresso should be cold?
Yes, try it cold. Did you like the coffee liqueur you made? Is it similar in strength of flavor to store bought options?

I LOVE Liber products, Mr. Black, Espresso Martinis, and almost all tiki drinks but shockingly I didn't care for the Martiki!
Thanks for trying it, and for the kind words! Definitely a unique combination of flavors!
