Transport for Wales Class 153: Stood the test of time? (TRIP REPORT)
Hello! On this evening I travelled from Shrewsbury to Crewe, two stations which see regular fast service. A gap in that service meant I had to use the stopper and lo and behold, a 35-year-old Class 153 made its appearance. This was my first time on this line with one of those units, being more accustomed to the modern Class 158 and 175 fleets. But is the Class 153 still good as a regional train...
What is it like on SNCF's TER regional trains ? (TRIP REPORT)
Good morning folks, this video starts in the city of La Rochelle and today I make a quick ride on an SNCF TER service to Rochefort. TER is the brand for regional trains in France, but how good are they actually? Are they as bad as we in France make them out to be ? Enjoy the video! :) Thumbnail credit: @Le Ferrovipathe on TH-cam If you want to support the channel, it's greatly appreciated: www....
The Caledonian Sleeper: the BEST way from Scotland to England? (TRIP REPORT)
Good evening folks, from Edinburgh in Scotland! Tonight I am catching the very famous Caledonian Sleeper "Lowlander" service through to London! If you remember, on October 25 2021 a brand-new low-cost train operator called Lumo started running its trains between Edinburgh and London. So nowadays we've got no less than four different offers of train between the two capitals - and one of them is ...

FIRST DAY of the brand-new low cost Lumo train: WOW! (TRIP REPORT)
Good morning! The date is Monday 25th October 2021, the launch date of brand-new low cost operator Lumo. Owned by FirstGroup, Lumo is an open-access operator who operates trains between London and Edinburgh, as a direct rival not only to London North Eastern Railway (LNER), who have always had the monopoly of the rail corridor, but also to easyJet and British Airways - indeed, London to Edinbur...
Riding SWR's Class 159 to London: it's excellent! (TRIP REPORT)
Good evening and welcome back for a new video on the channel! The video starts at Axminster, where I board South Western Railway's Class 159 "Express Sprinter" DMU to head to the capital, in first class. SWR operate a slower, but cheaper, train service between Exeter and London compared to GWR, going via Axminster, Yeovil, Salisbury and Basingstoke. A lovely peaceful trip awaits as we speed thr...
Scenic ride on Avanti West Coast's infamous Class 221! (TRIP REPORT)
(note: this was recorded and edited a good while ago) Good morning folks for a new video on the channel. Today, I travel with Avanti West Coast on their infamous Class 221 Super Voyagers... infamously bad, I should say. But Avanti West Coast have decided to fully refurbish their 20x Class 221s, so are they any better now? I took a ride on the extremely scenic North Wales Coast Line between Llan...
The LEGENDARY High-Speed Trains on the Midland Mainline! (TRIP REPORT)
Good morning folks, in this video I take a ride on one of the famous "High Speed Train" (HST) sets operated by East Midlands Railway (EMR), led by a mighty Class 43 loco, recordholder for fastest diesel loco in the world! Join me as I cruise up the Midland Mainline into Nottingham. Enjoy! (Also, mistake: these aren't the very last on the MML, they were the last to run the FULL MML and ceased on...
The LAST of the infamous Pacer railbuses! (TRIP REPORT)
Good morning folks, and welcome to this new video! Today, I ride from Barry Island to central Cardiff on one of the infamous Class 143 Pacer railbuses, operated by Transport for Wales - these were introduced in the 1980s due to the lack of rolling stock, and now sadly withdrawn from the UK rail scene. "First Class" for a fiver on LNWR's Class 350 to Crewe... it's possible! (TRIP REPORT)
Hello folks, and welcome to another video! I'm yet again up early to travel to Crewe with West Midlands Trains' London Northwester Railway service, on their Class 350 Siemens Desiro. Not the fastest train with a journey time of just over 2hr, but with a price under £5, that's quite a bargain! Anyways, I wasn't in a rush, since I still had 30 mins to make my next train at Crewe. I got this fare ...
Riding the Uber BOAT through the heart of London! (TRIP REPORT)

Who expected an Uber branded boat service to start? Well, for a year, that's exactly what's been happening for a year on the river Thames, when "Uber Boat" started being the new branding of the Thames Clippers operated "boat-bus" service serving 23 piers on the River Thames, from Woolwich in South East London to Putney in South West London, via the city, passing many famous landmarks along the ...

THE UK'S BEST regional DMU from Wales to England! (TRIP REPORT)
Ah you took the 13h37 one. This is one of the few that pass on the RER D track beetween St Denis (just after Paris Nord) and Orry La Ville. Yeah V2N cars lack air conditionning. These cars are not propriety of SNCF but are own by Haut de France region, which had refuse the AC until now. But as I heard, perhaps it will install when the will go to north. For the seat, I agree, they are not bad for regionnal train. I don't like the poor seat of the new Regio2N EMU. It's Ok when you are just doing Creil/ Paris Nord, but for travel time which can be up to 1h45 on the longer trip, they are very bad. Sometimes you can have even bette seats in V2N cars. Some cars are mix first and second classe. First class have the same seat than corail first class and because Haut De France region decide to stop first class in their TER, you can go without any problem with a normal ticket. The only problem is that there are very few of this mix car, and there no exterior difference. Another things that i like with V2N cars is that they have a smooth running.
Botricello.... manca

Good!!
How did you get that single Fare (!?) price ,even back in 2021 (!?) talking now in July 2024 I have only found £9.20 single or 18.40 return, ie: 1 month in advance ! Any 'feedback' gratefully received.
It was in the video.
Loved the video
The reason the Northern section of HS2 was abandoned was due to spiralling costs. No one seems to want HS2. To be fair big infrastructure projects are always a logistical nightmare in the UK whether it be a new railway line or new road. HS2 was given the go ahead in January 2012. France , to her advantage, is more than twice.the size of the UK with roughly the same population, thus new road and rail projects easier to plan. I'll probably never travel on it but I think it'll be good for the long term, when it finally comes into operation. Great video.
The longest route takes 20 minutes only ?
A most enjoyable sequence with excellent text commentary and some super pictures and sounds too - thanks for posting!
Very exciting, not far from the End :( , livery is actually INTERCITY SUN.......
I have travelled same train but to Bordeaux .... also Nantes to Cholet .... I like them
Thank you very much for the video of this journey. Very informative and well thought out. We were considering making this exact trip but will likely explore other options.
This is the line i use to visit my family in France. I quite like it although the service can be very irregular at times which is sadly common on the entire network... I do love the stock used on the K13 and C14 services
Reminds me of Lumo that they operate a low cost rail service from London King’s Cross to Edinburgh Waverley using Hitachi Class 803 IETs.
Yes, I made a video on that two years ago on their first day.
P r o m o s m 🤗
A very nice video. You should publish them more often.
Don’t worry - that is the plan. 😉
Great Video! Good to see you back Lagged!
Nice video! Keep up the good work :)
That is the plan!
How u doing?, Trainlagged~wow~great trip. goodnight-))
Thank you!
Been to France many times and the railways are so impressive as well the trains.
SNCF also has a lot of downsides 😅
This is what this TER was saying: "Petit j'ai vu des chose à te faire blanchir les cheveux ! Emmène-moi à la casse tout de suite". Translation: The things I've seen! Get me the f*ck out of here, I want to retire! (approximately😉)
7:59 Barletta? It’s on the Adriatic Sea…
The US has an answer to the challenge of high-speed trains... High-speed buses...
very nice, but I don`t think you should spend all your school holidays riding around on trains. Why don`t you try something usefull and constructive like a hobby perhaps? Here are some tips- Stamp collecting, Knitting, Embroidery, Bike riding, Dancing, & helping your mother clean the house.
hell yeah stamp collecting is way more useful than travel, discover new things and learn about the world 👏👏
Thanks jellybean8167
Gostos não se discutem!
Nice video, well made. Good to see more from you! Shame about the state of the train, just a little bit of care and it would be so much better. What did the remote driving cab look like? I don't think I've seen one as I've never taken this type of train back when I lived in Paris. And congrats on 1k subs! Thanks!
First passed through Paris Nord back in my Interailing days , the first one being in 1986. Very impressive line up of electric locos back then. When they powered up and down the pantograph would make a lovely arcing sound a big spark ! Used to travel to and from Boulogne or Calais to connect with the boat train to London Victoria. Also travelled up to Amsterdam from there in Corail coaches . Great days they were and much missed. Just wish i had taken some photographs of the magnificent beasts.
Good to see you posting again.
Thanks! More to come. :)
You should quite the sound of the wind hitting the mic when you put the camera outside the window. The noise is terrible to listen to.
Thanks for the suggestion :) Ill take that into account
No idea why I mentioned Barletta
An absolutely brilliant video my friend, do keep up the uploads as and when you can - I've missed seeing them!
I enjoy watching your videos I love trains and I have travelled when a little boy with my siblings and mother from Cambridge UK to cassino in Italy 🇮🇹 now I am 59 years old I have as an adult traveled from Rome to Cambridge by train Rome to Paris bercy overnight amazing experience

Cameras have spoilt things for us flashers. I used to stand in various spots along the railways where I knew the trains would be moving slowly. there was one spot I'd use regular. It was through some woods in the middle of nowhere and the trains would have to slow for signals. I'd be there all day with my trousers and pants around my ankles and lifting up my shirt to give the passengers a first class view of my erection and balls. It was great fun for all concerned but when mobile phone cameras became available I had to stop.
Clapham Junction is the UK's Busiest
The carriage in which you moved at 9:52 was probably more comfortable as, unlike the other 2, it has not been restructured according to the 901 project (the interiors of the other 2 carriages originally had compartments and another kind of air conditioning) and has maintained the Original interior which, in my humble opinion, was much more comfortable. However, the 2 renovated carriages at the beginning of the video were of the "eurofima" type, which entered service in 1978 and were built by FIAT, while the third was of the Z1 type which entered service in 1988. In any case, nice video and beautiful landscapes of the fantastic Ionian line
Thank you so much ! I really appreciate it.
Nice reportage. I subscribe on your channel.
Thank you!
Unfortunately not enough space for your luggage
I hope these lovely 159s make it into the 2030s.
