Another Evening Mow and Burning in Stripes in the Back Yard
Finally, I've been waiting for this video. It looks great! That will easily fill in in the spring.
@ScoutFX yeah I've been slacking a little on the videos. Time gets away from me sometimes. I'll film another video tomorrow and give an update.
Lawn looks great is that Tall fescue?
@marcusfabiousmaximus3463 yes, Turf Type Tall Fescue from multiple sources.
@ curious what height you cut it at and what region you are in? Thanks
@marcusfabiousmaximus3463 I cut it at the highest level on my timemaster which is level A. I think that's 4.25". I'm in Wichita Kansas
@@TheMoreYouMOW ok thanks👍
Looking good its always funny when you kill your lawn the neighbors look like oh no what did you do. But then when they see the transformation they are amazed by the outcome.
@johnnelwhite they all thought I was crazy and that I killed it on accident and they didn't think it would grow back and now they're asking for help lol
Hello!!! Ive seen you before!! Im you daughters friend she told my your channel! But i have also seen you when it is her stop.
Try to clean the carburetor most problems began with a clogged carburetor
I will be doing this project also. Had to buy a new Timemaster because my old one died and I didn't have time to rebuild the old one. Will be restoring the old one this Winter, so I have a backup. Thanks for the video.
Might put the Kohler on the new mower and put the new Briggs on the older mower. Good move?
I would put the Kohler on the old mower as long as everything else is fine. If you have a warranty on the new mower, swapping the motor may void it.
Would this be ideal for late fall applications or more suited for spring
I apply it anytime during the mowing season. I think it would be great when applied during fall
had amazing results how often for a cool season lawn would you apply going into late fall looking for one app of some type of fert any chance you have a facebook or email
Typically I apply fertilizer on holidays ( memorial day, 4th of july, labor day, halloween, Thanksgiving etc) or monthly. You can reach me at tmymow@gmail.com
Yardbrah is kiddie diddler fyi. Feel like people should know that
is that Tenacity you sprayed at 25:30?
Yes it was. Tenacity and humic acid
good stuff
@@ndhkroatien999 thank you!
Nice video my guy! Thanks for going into such detail and explaining things thoroughly. Can’t wait to see the results!
@JTMoneyyyyyy thanks for watching! Results coming soon!
That tractor helped you big time! I went out and brought a similar one just for my renovation. Got a plug areator and roller, made it so much easier.
@omargordon8819 absolutely. It can be done without one, but if one is available might as well use it!
Great job Bro, I’m sure it’s going to come out amazing. I did my overseed three weeks ago with the Artimus blend. Germination was super slow for some reason but it’s finally coming in nice and dark.
@@NyTonyF waiting for seed to germinate is the worst thing ever, especially when it takes longer than expected.
Nice work, Jay! Just make sure you have great water coverage. If the seed doesn't get wet, it won't grow. I found that out the hard way this past spring. I never had any dry spots, so I thought all was good, but there is a big difference between watering a yard with grass and watering one with just dirt. I'm going to do a reno of the shaded half of the backyard next spring. Keep us posted.😎
@ScoutFX you're absolutely correct. My sprinkler coverage is pretty solid. I have a few thin areas that will need more seed, but overall, it's coming along nicely. I'll post an update video soon
I can't wait to see the results.
@@m4marceldev results coming soon!
How do you like the Ryobi backpack sprayer? Is it still working too?
I actually really like it. I just used it for my renovation earlier this week. I can't really think of any complaints. Can be difficult to completely empty the tank, but that's really it
@@TheMoreYouMOW appreciate the quick review! I know some of their other products like the mister for mosquito spray are rough but I'm in the Ryobi system already so trying to get the good and avoid the bad
Did you paint the deck or is that a custom order?
I painted the deck. It was pretty rough originally
@@TheMoreYouMOW oh looks sick haha I just bought a brand new machine and I wish it came in black. Nice move man
@listentofin I almost went black but I went with the grey. Black would look great too!
@@listentofin also, if you want to see the painting process, I made a video showing how I did it. 2 videos before this one
I did my front yard reno this spring. I went with Titanium 2 LS, and I love it. It grew in dark green and thick. The NTEP just came out with their new list; looking forward to seeing what seed you will use.
Can’t wait to see the new lawn. With you killing off now and seeding soon will you make it before your first frost ?
I think I'll be ok. I'm planning on seeding the 13th-15th. I did my reno the first week of October last year and didn't have any problems
@@TheMoreYouMOW I always get worried from season to season and end up being ok good luck 🤝🏾
Killing a habitat. As long as you look good right
Absolutely
Man i know this was a tuff decision but in the end it will pay off. I cant wait to see what seed you went with.
Absolutely. I think it will look amazing!
@@TheMoreYouMOW I just picked up the sta green performance max 30-0-0 to do my nitrogen blitz and found the sta green deep green 22-0-0 on clearance for 4.75 per bag.
@@johnnelwhiteWhere was this when I needed it. I got the 22-0-0 on sale at my location for $20
The genetics of new seed is amazing…. Darker green and increased fungal resistance would be so worth the money…
I can't wait for the end result!
Gonna be NICE...
I sure hope so. There's no going back now!
I have Artimuss. It's a little heat stressed currently but always bounces back. My yard is still pretty young and the more mature it gets the more impressed I am. If I ever get around to renovating the backyard I'll probably use Snap Back RR from United Seeds for the RTF qualities.
@I3arbarian the RTF is really appealing to me, especially in the back yard with the dogs. I know it's not as aggressive as bermuda, for instance, but anything helps!
Mine makes a loud whining sound when blades are engaged. How do you tell which spindle holds the bad bearings?
@Tundra_Guy I just started disassembling and figured out which one was in question. Most of the time it's the spindle that has the blade engage belt on it
Im on your daughters bus!!!
I have Artuimus and I would say it’s ok but I would go with the local blend you put up in the video.
@rubenharris9241 Thanks for the comment! I'm still on the fence about what I want to use but I'm leaning local
@rubenharris9241 also do you mean the local one from gard-n-wise or the one from site one that I used in the back yard?
@@TheMoreYouMOW I think you flashed the hard-n-wise one up on the screen. That’s the one I would go with.
Nice grass!
Thank you, much appreciated!
Quick question. Can you link the barring’s. Need some for my time master spindles. Don’t want to order wrong size
Here's a link to what I ordered XiKe 4 Pcs 6203-2RS Double Rubber Seal Bearings 17x40x12mm,Pre-Lubricated and Stable Performance and Cost Effective, Deep Groove Ball Bearings. a.co/d/iUQ5nwv
@@TheMoreYouMOW my man. I appreciate you. 🫡
It's old school, I've been using it for almost 40yrs.
Great video. Just found the Sta Green 20-0-0 at my local Lowes. I understand how you are weighing out the granular but how do you figure out what spreader setting to use?
Honestly for the most part I go by feel. I start relatively low, like maybe 3, and see how it feels. After that I'll bump it up if need be. As long as I cover all areas with the appropriate weight I'm happy. I typically end up on setting 5
Hey Jay check out garage gear TH-cam video on the Echo RB60 mods where he shows a 3D printed bigger agitator his friend at Mirror image coating he made for him and Dustin the guy from mirror image coating is selling it for $20 shipped I just got mine from him within three days and what a huge difference no more rocking the spreader side to side to get all the fertilizer out. JB will show three mods you can do to the Echo RB60. I hope this helps and check it out.
Sweet thanks for the info! I'll have to che k out his video. I know I'm subscribed to him but I probably missed this video. $20 seems reasonable too
Yes sir no problem just trying to do my part and help out my fellow lawn care bro. Hit me up when you get it
My Timemaster has the bigger engine. Just bought it for $800 with less than two seasons on it. It was as if they guy never used it. Power isn't an issue with deep grass as long as it is not wet. But what absolutely sucks is the small fuel tank. I have to refuel 3-4 times when cutting the lawn once.
Replace the fuel tank ?
2021
Pick up some Rustaid at Lowes or Home Depot and use a chemical sprayer and.hit those rust spots on your concrete. Let it sit for 5 minutes and pressure wash it off. The rust stains will be gone
@@TheIvies04 any issues if it contacts grass?
Its safe for the grass. If you spray the concrete and rinse it off the concrete it wont evect the grass. No need to dilute either
Whats the model and serial number for this motor?
@@sixinarow2498 I'm not sure what the serial number is, but it's a Kohler CV224
I was just telling my husband about this and he rolled his eyes. I'll try it. We have little ones who can use the shampoo anyway. Haha!
Yeah I didn't believe it either. Give it a try and tell me how it goes!
Inflation... I went to Dollar General to get some baby shampoo to try this. The off brand was $4.99.
Man, that inflation is no joke! Even at the dollar tree it's 1.25! Crazy times were living in now 😆
Lol don’t know why I never thought to put cardboard down while pouring/mixing iron. Doing that from now on!
@@GRASShole21 it definitely comes in handy. I'm so tired of unnecessary iron stains 😄
Nice Jay was wondering where you were. When your neighbors come out just know they were waiting for someone to kick it off and it was you 👌🏾🤝🏾😂😂😂
Lol it's like clock-work. As soon as someone hears a lawn mower run they come out. It's like hearing the ice-cream truck music on a summer day 🤣.
Great,thank you💚
Let’s go jay
Nice work Jay, what kind of mower is that, looks like possibly a 30”
It's a Toro timemaster with the Kohler CV224 swap. I did a mini build last year
It's been a tough year for lawns. I did a front yard reno this spring with TTTF and it's starting to look really good. I did have an issue with 10% of my grass not growing due to poor sprinkler coverage. So I had to scramble to throw more grass seed down in the summer and adjust my water coverage. I will be spraying for nutsedge next week because it's starting to get out of control.
I definitely agree with you. Disease pressure seems like it's way more prevalent this year too.
Whatever you decided I know it’s going to look amazing. I ordered a 50lb bag of Artimuss myself. Thinking about doing a full Reno up front and overseed the yard with it.
@NyTonyF I keep hearing and seeing amazing things when it comes to Artimuss. I want to try it in the front but I might also consider using the Heatwave mix from Grass Pad and the Kansas Excalibur Blend from Lesco/Site One. I'm torn lol
@@TheMoreYouMOWI’m in KC too. I was wanting to do a rye/blue blend but Fescue is the smart choice. I’m likely going to use Artimuss again.
@duggeedoug fescue or a kbg fescue blend works well here. How do you like artimuss?
@@TheMoreYouMOW Artimuss was excellent. Wanted to try a bit softer turf and went with KBG/RYE this year.
You should upgrade your Blade brake clutch parts to the Turfmaster ones. Pretty much a bolt-in. Might need to switch one bolt for a longer one and add a nut & washers. Since then I have never had all the worn v-belt issues I used to have. My Kohler CV224 has run great for the past 3 years. With that filter my oil still looks clean at the end of the season! (Only mowing my property though!) I don't waste my money on the expensive Kohler filters & oil though....WIX, Oregon, Briggs all have compatible oil filters, and any good synthetic oil of proper viscosity (with a touch of added ZDDP, if desired) is all that is needed to keep that puppy happy.
Hey man can you tell me did Lowe’s stop carrying this product or is it just my local Lowe’s got a bag last season and went to get another one and it’s not there
I grabbed a bag maybe a month ago. They still have it around here (Wichita)
Whats the difference between this bag and the green ortho bug B Gon bag?
I'm not exactly sure off of the top of my head but I'm sure the active ingredients are different, I'm just not sure how
I have to point out that most of these videos on TH-cam talking about baby shampoo….they never show the AFTER. You did and hats off!! Going to be applying this to my lawn tomorrow. Thought I had grubs despite treating and I don’t. Soil is just hydrophobic in the dry patches.
To be honest, the after blend clip was on accident. I didn't actually realize how well it worked until I did the editing. Before dumping a bunch of money on products that are expensive, I try to find the cheaper option if I can. If it didn't work, we'll at least I tried. This is one of those things I'm glad I tried the cheaper option first. Thanks for watching!
@@TheMoreYouMOW I did it and it works. Awesome.
