    You got cahones grabbing the spring and putting in place and banging it all over the place. I rented same compressor from auto zone and that thing was a grenade waiting to go off! Open up before I even grabbed it several times. When fully compressed I was tapping it with a breaker bar to give me confidence in had a “safe compress”. Kept failing with little taps. Ended up buying a new one on Amazon😂

      I too have since purchased a different. The problem is you need a centerline if using standard height spring where the screw shaft can go into the factory hole so you can pull it back out once the spring is in place. I hate those things. Next time I'm installing coilovers and will never use the old coil springs again.

    OMG!!! Thank you SO much for doing this video. I was actually dreading doing my 2018 Expedition because I had to repair my old 2013 F150 (literally had to remove the entire headliner and nearly all the panels/pillars and track). After watching you do this, it will take me a fraction of the time I spent with my F150. Again... I appreciate you taking the time to record and post this. Thank you.

      At that point, if the cover is open, you can still get to the screws with a thin screwdriver. It is a little harder, but doable.

    How often do you have to charge the battery using the winch on the trailer? How long will the winch run until the battery runs down?

    • @3rdgenworkshop
      @3rdgenworkshop หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a solar panel that I leave on the trailer when sitting to maintain full charge. I haven't had the battery run low yet, a year into using it. You could wire the battery into the trailer harness to charge when the 7-Pin is plugged in.

    Great video! I wish I did a few things differently… I would’ve put cardboard down on the stationary panel so it doesn’t get scratched by the metal like mine did! (Common sense though.) The track can be lubed after installation and cleaning/ lubing the panel should be done when removed like he had mentioned.! 4’ ladder and a magnet definitely came in handy! Great video! Don’t be afraid to tackle it!

    Great video! Would it matter if the sway bar links were torqued to spec while the wheels are on the ground or should the suspension be at full extension while tightening the links to torque spec?

    • @3rdgenworkshop
      @3rdgenworkshop ปีที่แล้ว

      For the swaybar the suspension doesn't need to be under load, but it won't hurt if you want to validate that the bolts haven't loosened and are still set at the proper torque specs. Anytime I deal with any part of the suspension or roll control systems I like to double check. For control arms and panhard bars, you will want to hit the bolts with the torque wrench under load.

When I dropped it off monday the service writer said he wasnt sure if the esp will cover it, depends on problem...according to my ticket they replaced a guide and a shield, cost of right at 300..after reading all of these horror stories I feel very lucky...he also said he has seen many glass portions shatter on their on....

    All due respect, using an impact on those bolts eliminates the struggle of using the ratchet. Been using an impact for over 45 years never had a problem. If you've got a link available id like to reach out. Thanks for the Great vids.

    • @3rdgenworkshop
      @3rdgenworkshop ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I've used impacts on them. I've found that it will over torque, and while somethings that fine, other parts on the suspension it can cause wear in places you don't want. Thanks for the comments.

    i have a 94, it looks like exactly the same set up. I know much of the third gens were carried over. I was told GM originally planned on ending production in 97 so they did little to upgrade the 4th gen besides the lt1

    • @3rdgenworkshop
      @3rdgenworkshop ปีที่แล้ว

      Most things on the 4th gen 1993-2002 will bolt right up to the third. Swaybars are different, and the dash, but most mechanical stuff will swap right in. A lot of folks will pull the 4th gen rear differential, brakes and lines to convert to 4 wheel disc.

    With an LS1 on the tubular cross memeber do you still need to relocate the compressor?

    • @3rdgenworkshop
      @3rdgenworkshop ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe you need to relocate it. If you have a factory K-Member, you have to notch it, I believe you are OK on the tubular as it doesn't stick out. The guys at UMI can tell you for sure. However, I would still relocate it to the top passenger side as all the stock lines are designed to to there. Several places make a relocation bracket for cheap to do that. I'm planning on running my on the top once I drop the motor in.

    • @3rdgenworkshop

      If the BLISS light isn't working it could be several things. 1. Fuse, 2. Camera not aligned, 3. Camera foggy and it's not seeing the road, 4. Sensor in the tail light needs replaced, 5. Wire has come disconnected, 6 It's bad. Those are the things I would look at.

    Great video. Do you know if i can get to the 6 window screws and properly replace the rails in the closed position? My roof is stuck in the closed position including the sunshade closes half way and stops. At this point the reset programing wont even budge the roof. Whats the advantage of placing the roof glass in the vent position. I just ordered my rails from sunroof doctor. TIA

    • @3rdgenworkshop

      You can get to them, it's just more difficult. In the vented position, it gives you the extra about 1/2" to get to the screws.

    Mine are not broke. I did order the grease for the sunroof per the TSB. I also ordered the silicone grease will I be able to grease the tracks with out taking the tracks out? My tracks are fine I just want to put some more grease on them.

      Yes, just use a glove, and use your fingers to work it in the track. They need to be maintained every so often.
