Happy Wednesday everyone! Hopefully this Kix off a string of new videos.
Love Qix! Amazing how such a simple premise can be so much fun.
I like this game. Very simple, no frills arcade fun.
This game is an incredibly addictive DVD screensaver menu.
When I hear Qix out loud it makes me think of the glam band from the 80s Kix. They had one single that played on MTV so it makes me laugh. Don't tell anyone, but I think I had that single on cassette.
When I put on this video I wasn't expecting to really learn anything new. I loved Qix as a kid (I had the gameboy version) and just wanted something pleasant and nostalgic to listen to while I ate. However, I have to say when you mentioned "Jezzball" and I saw the clips on screen, that hit me hard. I had completely forgotten about Jezzball for such a long time but when you mentioned it I suddenly remember loving it. Now I have to go look it up. Thank you for that!
Jezzball is great! Thanks for watching
I consider myself a pretty dedicated NES fan but I had no idea that there was a NES version of Qix (love the Game Boy version though). There's always more to learn I guess.
The Sega Genesis version was AMAZING. It basically just had that good ol' Genesis sound and had revamped designs for the Qix monsters. Gameplay is basically identical, but there were some difficulty options as well.
Console Wars should do this one
Rowdy Randy Pfeiffer...thanks man I needed that this week.
Amazing video. Absolutely always look forward to your videos.
Thanks Jamie! Appreciate you
Good video, great game. I forgot about Qix, I used to love playing this
I always knew about this game but thought it was called something else, so i missed it when it was cheap 😂
Spent hours on jezzball (less than simcity, but more than solitare/freecell, basically all the pc games I've ever put time into), on my grandmas computer! Thanks for bringing up those good memories
I think I would get some Qix out of this one.
I played the original arcade, in the arcades, some time in the early to mid 80s, I don't remember the exact period as it wasn't my favorite game.
Few years after that, I played various clones or perhaps even the same but ported, on the Atari ST, PC of the late 80s early 90s.
Still nothing for me other than a solid game.
Eventually, though funnily enough I don't remember when, I found a couple of versions with eh adult theme. When you progressed in the game, various relevant photos would slowly appear. That I remember enjoying it more. Strictly for the advanced gameplay I am sure.
Great video man, as always.
I loved this game on my C64. Great review.
Happy Wednesday, everybody.
Did you wear pink today?
I remember this one really stood out in arcades cause it looked so different from every other game.
I first played this as a mini game in Bully, had no idea of the history. Thanks!
I love Jezzball. We would play it in 6th grade after chess club. That would have been '99.
This game always hits me like a ton of Brix
Spent many hours playing Jezzball which seems to have taken inspiration from Qix. One of many simple yet addictive puzzle games from the 80's.
I actually snagged the Game Boy version of this at a thrift store a while ago, it ended up being a lot more fun than I expected. I'd actually love to try out some of the later versions that came out, I think there were at least two versions on PSone. Apparently it has an Arcade Archives release on Switch and PS4, too!
I first played a game like this in 2000 but it was Harry Potter themes with a snitch as the thingy.
It's also on the SNES as Cacoma Knight in Bizyland.
Thanks for the video! Nice break in my day.. Bill Chicago
I love Qix, I’m a sucker for any way I can play it but I surprisingly never played the NES port. I really love the spiritual successor games like JeezBall, which was an obsession of mine in the mid 90’s
Someone needs to make a Windows 3.1 Friend channel
I don't think I've ever seen gameplay of this before. Weird!

I have that Who dunnit: A Murder Mystery Pinball Machine by Bally (to the right of WARLOK) in my basement.
It's fun and even has a chase scene to a rooftop.
wait, their really called randy and sandy? what spongebob insanity is that
Mr. Pfeiffer, is that you?
@@NESFriend no, im just the typical youtube commenter, 40, unmarried and has a neckbeard
@@randyvoid155 you're a hunk to me
@@NESFriend has the scamming programing bots upgraded and are now flattering commenters? hmmmm
I'd always wanted the Game Boy version, but it never made it into my collection. That port was Nintendo published.
Yes yes Qix!!!
I think this is the "art class minigame" from Bully as well. I wonder if the developers licensed it to Rockstar.
Cacoma Knight on the SNES is similar.
I really get my Qix by watching this channel. I try my best to be good at this game but it always Qix me in the teeth and then it even Qix me when I'm down.
We always pronounced it "Kwicks"
Does Randy give people RKO's? 😃
I'd say the black and white Game Boy version is preferable, both solo and (even more) in two player mode.
