    Hello everyone! Any updates will be free for anyone who purchases this tool. NOTE: When rendering video I forgot to add part at the beggining where I froze geometry from unreal engine. - Create empty HDA and import it Houdine engine - Open houdini session-sync and add static meshes to input of the HDA - Open Houdini session-sync session and gemetry should be imported inside Houdini. - Freeze geometry and save HDA - This will make gemetry independend from houdini session-sync.

    Hello, first of all huge tutorial , thanks a lot. I add a question about how did you manage to extract correctly your Height layer through your blast node. On my side this results in a very small landscape, I can use match size node to handle sides values but I'm not able to retreive height.

    how do you manage Megascans plugin to work in 20?

      I really have not had any problems getting it working no matter the version. If you correctly install the package it should work just fine. One thing i noticed tho. You can try to open megascans options window in houdini and then try to import files if its not working.

      ​@@nicksushkevich If you are not getting top menu for a megascans inside that means you are not correctly pointing houdini to the plugin folder. Json file that points to megascans folder should just look like this { "path": "path/to/megascans/plugin/folder" } If you are not sure what packages are loaded. Houdini recentrly added option to view and set ENVs inside houdini. You can create new tab. Under Inspectors->Package browser

    Hi, first of all thank you so much for your content, it's awesome! I am now trying this quadremesher in houdini, and the "use normals splitting" doesn't seem to work well in the latest version of houdini(20). Can you confirm this is a bug in recent versions? In your video seems to work fine. Thanks a lot

      I haven't used it in a while, and I can't activate it. I won't be able to help, but sidefx recently added its own quad remesh node. In called - Quad Remesh(beta). Maybe that will help!

    Does anyone else have problems with the HDA? I don't know why but it keeps crushing my Unreal, and when I create or save the HDA in houdini an error shows up telling me that I have references to nodes outside the subnet or references that use absolute paths to operators inside the subnet.

    Excellent Tutorial dude, thanks a lot. Just two questions or problems I'm having right now: 1. How would you implement the convex corner here?. 2. To be honest I badly made my concave corners work, in fact I had even to scale them to make them match with the rest of the walls/windows and I don't know why exactly, if you have any idea why would that happen I would love to know. Thanks again for your work man :D

      Concave corners would basically also be done with identifying concave points from building node point cloud. I have made concave corners for other buildings, and at the basis it would converting each floor into a polyline and putting down a labs node, I'm not sure what its called, but its takes polyline and figures out convex and concave points. After that you would transfer the concave group to the building point cloud and you can rename those points to concave module names. For the corners, i remember someone else asked me about corners not lining. I don't exactly remember the solution. I know it was something about module scaling.       ive had the same problem, what fixed it for me was to double check that my transform node inside the for-loop does not have any pivot or pre transforms and to set the match size - justify X to None. the other two are set to Min. Recache the for-loop as well if that doesn't work. might simply be a bug.

    I have hit another issue, on the attribute wrangle at 1:17:15 I get an error saying ; Invalid source /obj/megascans_building/attribwrangle2/attribvop1 Error: Read-only expression on left side of assignment (2,37).       You have a number in incrementing ++1, it must be the variable we increment, witch is ++i

      ​@@DonquijoteDC You can try to turn on flat shaded geometry in viewport. Also maybe viewport is acting up, from labs tools you can from main toolbar, go Labs-Reset Viewport. Look at geometry that you are importing, if the single piece looks correct. Normals should be correct for the megascans assets. Sometimes they do not look right. Hope this helps!

    This is an excellent tutorial. Really nicely done. Clears up a lot of information on the megascans. For some reason I am having trouble at 1:11:25, I am using 19.5 bu it says the syntax is incorrect for 0-`npoints`(0)/2. Any ideas? I have set the group type to points, it is the base group and I can see the group name appearing in the spreadsheet. this is the message: Warning Bad pattern specified 0-npoints(0)/2. Possible problems: Number out of range or a syntax error. Valid Syntax: [!]start[-end][:step][,increment] examples: !1-10:2,3 1-10:2 * 0-5 1

      thake out the second `, secont tick means you are ending expression, and houdini reads everything after as a string, 0-`npoints(0)/2 should do fine.

    interesting workflow, i do this with foreach point and copy the geometry in the loop and do intersection analysis to detect if the new copy intersects with existing geometry, then use switch that works by counting the points in interesction analysis node and if its 0 there are no intersections so the copy can stay

      how do you solve the time incriasing the more items you have?

      @@ThiagoLaranjeiraZerooneBit i dont.. yeah its costly lol.. you could use low poly proxies and optimize it.. or check out the entagma dart throwing tutorial, bit advanced and didnt test it myself but seems much much faster

      @@dnch thx for reply, the entagma tut work because the geos are the same, just spheres, but if you have different meshs the pscale wont solve itbecause its non uniform, any other tip?

    you could use attribute from pieces instead of attribute adjust so you dont have to manually set the min max
