Enjoyed your video. I was at the HH retreat too. I did the US/UK pattern this week. I did it in 2 afternoons. I’m not sure if I will finish it as a scissor fob. I like turning small designs into needle books. I can’t believe how many patterns we were given. The extra one I bought was Kathleen Dempsey. I love Irish Samplers plus it is comparatively small so I may get it done this year. Happy stitching!

Your framed pieces are gorgeous. When I started my Sampler Wall I just put the first one up and then subsequent pieces were just put around. I have unequal distance between them and they all look great together. Don't over think it. Love your videos, thank you.

I use the HATS fabric calculator and then I make a paper template which I then put on the linen to reassure myself I have enough. Helps me pick out frames in the charity shops as well.

You picked some beautiful frames. I've now stitched my talisman 'awesome' to keep me focussed and positive about life. I decided 'I have to go and be awesome' meant at times I wasn't so changed it to just awesome and made it into a pin cushion.

Now I want to go back and re-read some of those English classics. I will add North and South to the list! Loved all your projects and wonderful haul. I missed the pincushion from Vashdi? (sp?)

Audrey, what a fantastic video - I loved all of your stories and all of the things you showed. I was at HHN the week after the GBSWCTA and saw several of the things you mentioned. I had never been there before - I hope to go back someday, but it is a 700 miles from where I live, so it takes a special trip for sure! I am all inspired now ... and your tablemates at the retreat are undoubtedly the most fun famous people we "know" - but they will be saying the exact same about you!

Your strawberries are FANTASTIC. Am in the UK so postage is expensive so am going to try and make some with raw pink and red silk. Love them. Am going to make mine into drawer pull fobs and have a few extra for a dough bowl, thought they'd go well wil my Anjou Pears. Thanks for showing us.

It was great to talk to you at retreat! I love the linen you chose for your Eliza sampler. That bone color is perfect. If you’re ever at Elkhart Lake and want to get away from the racetrack and go somewhere stitchy, let me know. I’m about 45 minutes from there.

First of all your needle book is AMAZING and I would also be so proud I’d carry it everywhere! Second: I too adore a good chicken and that chart you showed is going into My checkout basket but fast! Love it! And lastly : our kids grew up singing ALL the vast varied stuff from my early days. My dtr in her 20s said to a co worker something about “yeah like in Eleanor Rigby” and was met with an empty stare. She called me all indignant and said this is why the world is turning to crap these kids don’t know any good music… mind you she was like 22 at the time 😂😂😂😂 and my sweet nephew grew up the same , lives in the UK. Went off to school at the age of four happily singing “what’s new pussycat” ala Tom Jones. 😂😂😂😂 Our kids grew into interesting people …Morris is off to a great start! ❤

Sounds like you had a wonderful time, that’s awesome. Love your linen choices and all your charts. I have never seen My Father’s House, that is beautiful. You can never go wrong with a Shakespeare’s Peddler chart, I have Ann Dale and keep saying I’m going to start it, just haven’t found the right linen. Hoop and Frame has the 100.3 for the Uffindell sisters, if I wasn’t already so far on them, I would have got the silks. Thanks for sharing everything.

I am SO behind on Flosstube! Your stitching is amazing, as always Audrey! ❤ Yeah, I use Total Framing. Mainly because I’m complete crap at choosing frames, and I just let them pick whatever they want. I refuse to let them even show me a sneak peek. They pick stuff I’d never have the guts to try and I’m always blown away. It’s not appreciably faster doing it that way, tho.

Lovely idea to support Upaws by making this chart available! FYI: you see this odd alphabet sequence quite often on these typical Dutch red school samplers. The idea behind it was to start with the "easy" (to stitch) letters first. The Girls would already have learnt their alphabet in school (age 6 or 7), Just prior to starting the sampler (often completed at age 9 thru 10).

So glad to hear you use your stash. Most buy, buy I can’t handle them never using the threads they have.

Great video, Audrey! Love your ribbon embroidery, and velvet strawberries. I have a kit from Mary Jo for a needlebook, but haven't started it quite yet. It's a little intimidating!

Instead of stitching the prayer, you could stitch just part of it, or none of it, and then incorporate your grandmother’s information.
