Well friend, sitting in my ‘91 after leaving my RV plugged in where it had been plugged in since I bought it, because it’s been converted to solar and had no generator. Well, now I know not to plug in to the generator plug as I sit with dead batteries after leaving it plugged in all winter with a timer to keep the battery bank charged up. (yes I realize it’s kind of obvious seeing as there is a “shore power” connection but alas.) This video is perfect, cause I had no idea this thing existed or where it was. Suppose I don’t really even need it seeing as the generator has been replaced by a massive solar array and battery bank.

May 14 2024 hello , is the knock sensors still in the relocated place. Has the knock sensors code come back on ? What type name brand did you use ? Did you have to reprogram the ECM ( aka PCM )

I'm having the same problem. The car will try to start on starting fluid. Sometimes it will get up and go. But while driving it, it hesitate between gears. When I barely push the gas pedal it will drive normal. Also, Sometimes it stalls at stops and won't get back up. Are those symptoms similar to what you were experiencing? Thank you

My factory location for knock sensors under the intake. However I’m taking a 5.3 aluminum block and building it for boost but the knock sensors are on the bottom of the block. I will most likely go this route! Cheers 🍻

Air idle control valve. Attached to the backside of the throttle body. Kind of hard to get to with this model. All it needs most likely is to be taken off and cleaned out with carb spray. If it's that dirty, I would also clean out the throttle body. Change the spark plugs, put in iridium spark plugs for better burning of fuel and less gunk up. Replace distributor cap and rotor for better burning of fuel and less gunk up.

People have been relocating these knock sensor on about every make and model,screw engineers

I wonder why when you replace them and put them in the valley they don't work, yet when you replace them and put them on the sides the code doesn't come back?

Hey I have a 76 Ford f100, and mine is a T style where yours is a Y style in your steering components at least, my question is, would I be able to install those same parts on mine to "upgrade"? And I noticed my pitman arm is straight from the front of the truck where yours is facing to the rear, is this just flipped 180, and the new parts installed? Ohh and how does she drive down the road with the steering stabilizer deleted? That one I'm interested, i hope you can help me out as my parts are obsolete and roughly 400 buck per part If can find them, and I'm sick of death wobble

I replaced my knock sensors 3 times. The first 2 sets were Doorman and the 3rd set was original GM Knock Sensors. I took my time and cleaned everything up with a wire wheel and Brake Clean every time I replaced all 3 sets. I still get the Knock Sensor Fault Code. I am going to relocate them in a couple weeks (Going on Vaca next week) and will update my post here. One thing I noticed on here is that people are having a hard time finding the Extension for the Left Side mounting. McMaster-Carr carries all kinds of extensions of various sizes like this one. Also, I have an extra harness that goes under the intake manifold and I am going to just extend the wires on that instead of buying the Doorman harness #917-033.

Due to these being DC and impendence involved in how info is diagnosed by the ECM, I would make sure the wires are the same length to each sensor...

I took my Intake off twice and still got bad codes, in other words don’t waste your time this will work. 😊

Sept 6 2023. Stuck on side of road lol. 460 ford triple e Motor home. Doesn’t want to switch gears and then it dies. Was told the engine light coming n was only the o2 sensor. So we drove it anyway 😢

My helmet sometimes gets stuck when I try to put the chin bar back after I have it open from open face to full face. I think your meant to lift it out and up but it’s difficult at speed

Have you checked your mpg? Mine is terrible, 11 to 12 mpg, i think it might be related to the knock sensors???

mad shifting on my f150 was the TV pressure , i adjusted the cable for 35psi and 0 psi at idle , worked a treat now it knows what gear it should be in Rob NSW Australia

Please just leave the knock sensors alone and clean your pcm connections
