Simple EASY FIX for Subaru engine not turning over (Starter NOT ENGAGING)
If you go to turn your automatic car or Subaru on and the starter doesn't engage or the engine doesn't turn over, or nothing happens when you turn the key on this is probably the problem. This happens to so many older automatic cars I have owned over the years where I have to consistently do this little trick and get them to start or engage the starter.
Subaru not starting, Subaru starter not engaging, engine not turning over, Subaru starter problem, Subaru starter not working, car not starting.

    So you are 50% correct about opening the valve….. Notice how both of your tanks have 2 DIFFERENT knobs on them…. Well that tank in the back with the rounded ish triangle shaped knob has what’s called an OPD (overflow prevention device) valve. All new tanks will have that. That device prevents the tank from being overfilled but also prevents any propane from coming out if the tank is NOT connected to anything. The tank in the front with the old hose spicket style knob does not have an OPD valve. Most propane refill places will refuse to fill that tank honestly. The old school way of weighting the tank as it’s being filled was phased out with the OPD valve. Propane will also come blasting out of that tank, even when it is not attached to anything at all, if the valve is opened. Thus making it extremely dangerous.

      The carburetor is awful to remove on these, especially with the huge dumb air box in the way. You need to remove the air box first, then all the cables going to the carbs, then loosen the hose clamps and whack on the carb rack with a rubber mallet until it gets loose. Work it out with much effort. It's tricky. Don't forget to shut off your gas and drain the carbs with the drain on the bottom.

    The grounding electrode conductor is permitted to originate at the meter, and basically all that you said was false. See NEC 250.24(A)(1) which states "The grounding electrode conductor connection shall be made at any accessible point from the load end of the overhead service conductors, service drop, underground service conductors, or service lateral to the terminal or bus to which the grounded service conductor is connected at the service disconnecting means." Yes your meter must be grounded or bonded to a panel by way of an approved bonding means same for the main panel. All metal parts that could be potentially exposed to energized parts must be grounded all the way down to small metallic device boxes. The problem with this installation is two separate EGC connected to the ground rod. You never leave a meter ungrounded. If something happens to the neutral connection and metal parts become energized then persons or properly become a really nice potential earth ground.

  • @dandearman2871
    @dandearman2871 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the meantime my guess would be because it's on the "line side" and not the "load side". The load side begins where the first main disconnect starts, whether that's in your meter socket or at the main panel inside (like in the video).

    Old meter that hasn't been swapped out to a smart meter yet and still requires a meter reader to get the power usage. Where is that? Most utilities are going to smart meters where they use a 900mhz signal to communicate to a grid. This reports power usage real time and also power outages real time. Rare to find one that hasn't been upgraded yet.

  • @CubbyTech
    @CubbyTech หลายเดือนก่อน

    So are you saying don't use a ground at all? Or just ground the box (which grounds the meter socket)?

    • @crazyDIYguy
      @crazyDIYguy หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CubbyTech wherever your main disconnect is you ground. So in the video the main disconnect is in the basement, therefore we don't ground the meter socket. If the main disconnect was outside at the meter socket, we'd run all our grounding to those. Then we would have 4-wire "SER" feeding the breaker box from the meter base, the 4-wire ser has a ground wire so the panels would be grounded that way.

    • @crazyDIYguy
      @crazyDIYguy หลายเดือนก่อน

      But in my exact situation in this video, the meter base isn't grounded at all. Just the breaker box in the basement, that has all the grounds going to it, from the gas, water meter, ground rods, etc. I'm going to make a more thorough video on it.

  • @thomasdalton1508

    Is the problem that this property only has a relatively high-impedance earth connection that is just intended to carry enough current to trip an RCD (GFCI) and this is the wrong side of the RCD so wouldn't trip it?

    • @crazyDIYguy
      @crazyDIYguy หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thomasdalton1508 definitely one of the potential problems, the other main problem with grounding that specific setup are parallel paths for the neutral to travel if we grounded both meter base and main disconnect/panel inside.

    • @thomasdalton1508
      @thomasdalton1508 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@crazyDIYguy That's only a problem if you use too thin a wire for the grounding, right? In the UK, we have minimum thickness requirements for wires that could become alternative neutrals (we mostly use TN-C-S/PME so pretty much everything can end up being a neutral path, so it is a significant concern).

    • @SRCardow1
      @SRCardow1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Neutral at the top connection failed, his circuits started relying on the ground to earth (which is weak to begin with for adequate neutral). That failed quickly so it found a ground through the aluminum siding which led to the cable companies ground. Aluminum started corroding and the "substitute" neutral started arching heating up the siding. Eventually causing the wood to smolder in the wall for days without us noticing. By the time I noticed the inside of the wall was gone and glowing coals. Saved it with a chainsaw and a hose. @@slhines7 when I was filling mine I had the back jacked up, The mower was running, and I was going in forward and reverse and it would keep taking more and more oil.

      I guess the keyway to the rear tires might be sheared off or missing causing the shaft to just spin inside the tire. Or it could be that rear drive belt not gripping or not on the pulley that drives the whole rear end pump

    • @slhines7
      @slhines7 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@crazyDIYguy I double checked both keyways which are still instact. It is just locked up and won't move no matter what. Sometimes it will be free and can be pushed but never actually move when put into gears while running.

    Update: I thought I posted this comment but I don't see it. My inspector made me put a ground rod in because it is a separate building. Separate buildings require their own ground rod.

    I have a craftsman t2200.have mower Goin forward , ang it keeps sliding out into natural, is there an adjustment I can make

    • @crazyDIYguy
      @crazyDIYguy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it is like mine in this video with that forward and back handle and I was in your situation, I'd just drill a slot or a half moon type of catch for the lever shaft in forward. Other than that maybe change the fluid in the rear axle see if that helps. Maybe thicker. Might depend on fluid pressure to stay in forward and reverse position.

    How... how is the blade not slipping off the rounded tires when it catches a knot? (or more like when...)

    • @crazyDIYguy
      @crazyDIYguy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's got guides on the back of the blade, pulleys that the back of the band pushes against. The tires are tilted in a way that the band is always trying to push backwards instead of falling off forwards if you understand what I mean.

    • @crazyDIYguy
      @crazyDIYguy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So instead of the band walking off forward, it just pushes backwards against the guides

    This video helped a lot since you mentioned the machine you used and settings. A lot of the other automotive welding videos doing C-Notches or frame work don’t ever give details. Since you did say you fluxed cored the patches. What wire did you use? Thanks

      Yeah I used flux core, it was e71 tgs

      Look up "fish plating" and make sure you do that. It's like a diamond shaped patch on the back of your weld or on the other side of the frame that you're welding

    In extreme cold climates, the insulation is the first to fail. It shatters like glass leaving exposed conductors. This is one car accessory no one should cheap out on! 👍
