" I didn't write the music, I didn't create the music. I made the deal so I should get paid for the deal".props to you Mark for that statement right there. this is why he is one of THE leaders in the sync agent/licensing world
Excellent video! I said before your were the absolutely best guys in the sync space because of your transparency! This is the second best video you have posted and it’s only second because you posted the one with Ms Bubbles first! Two major players in the sync space telling us how the deals suppose to be! Supervisor, sync agents and music libraries shouldn’t be asking for half of your creative work, but only the part they’ve worked for and that’s the front end! Thanks a million Eric
For me, it is fun. Especially when I am able to get major players in the business to drop nuggets of wisdom. Then I Try to take those nuggets and turn them into shorts.
Wonderful content! I am extremely thankful for this level of insight into the world of music licensing. Definitely taking notes and sharing what I learned today
Starting my journey. This information is amazing. I've been playing Piano for about 23 years. It's all by ear, & I have a few compositions ready to produce. I'm 28 & have a lot of energy to put into this path. I'm also a vocalist & have my own equipment. Pair that with insomnia & undiagnosed ADHD, I can't wait to get out there! Turning my hobby into my living, truly sounds like a dream come true.
This is a superbly insightful video/interview Eric, Mark is eloquent and so knowledgeable, put's his info across in a clear and concise manner. Brilliant
Excellent interview. It is all about business relationships! For 2024, I'm focusing on building my local/regional relationships with video creatives. Some might be stock customers. Some might be sync customers.
@@MakeMusicIncome now you need to make a video on how music producers can find and pitch to these sync agents. I'm still watching so maybe it's in here I haven't seen it yet? But if it's not, that might be a good video idea for you. My OH has had people approach him online, but he figured they were wanting money for something he could do himself for free such as pushing his music. I guess what I am trying to say is, he felt like he'd have to give them $ up front for nothing, or becoming like soo many musicians who have made pennies for their work whilst everyone else walks away better than the musician does. I hope that makes sense? Wants to make money, but wants it to be fair and transparent as well.
Thank you for a great discussion, and I am so happy I live in NYC, so I can possibly meet Mark in person! I’ll look him and his company up! I’m definitely interested in working with a sync agent or two!
Thank you for making this video. This video is very helpful. I have a placement with a major artist, but I’m more interested in sync placements. How do we spell the email address he gave at the 57:15 point, in the video?
Yeah, I think I feel the same, and especially if I was making the deal for someone who was also going to get the PRO then I think 50 percent is completely doable

Yes, I really felt like this shed some light on the sync agent subject. Getting ready to pitch a song to him right now.

Yes, same. One of the great things about these two interviews is I now have two sync agents to pitch to! LOL!

Thank you.
You are the Jesus of sync, this guy might be the God!😁
There’s only one Jesus, my friend. I’m just a guy who knows people and tries to ask the right questions. I want to know them as much as you!
Do you pay $75 to have a private session?
I have not done it yet.
I have no issue with paying 50% of the sync fee! That’s very understandable!

So many gems dropped in this video! Thank you kindly good brothers. 💯💪🏾🫡🙏🏾
