    Just in time I have come here. A huge thanks to Art for his project, thanks to it I have found many fantastic libraries, with which we successfully collaborated. And thanks to Eric for inviting Art.

    Agree to disgree with you on the Exclusive / Non-Exclusive thing. It's not because the library want to tell the client they are the only company with the music , it's because unless they control it exclusively it's not possible to sub-publish those tracks to other territories. Re-titling is illegal in some parts of Europe so libraries with worlwide distribution can't take any music unless it's 100% exclusive.

    • @sweetersongs5219
      @sweetersongs5219 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is incorrect the retitles can be sub-published no problem :)

      @rsongs5219 Lol. No they can't. Why do you think all the big libraries are exclusive now? Because they want to sub-publish globally. Show me one that's non-exclusive and not limited to a single terriotory and sub-publishes your music worldwide? I don't know how many tracks you have published but I have over 700 signed to both Exclusive and Non- Exclusive Publishers - You sound American so I have to ask if you deal directly with Exclusive Publishers in Europe? I deal with them on a regular basis and this is the reasoon why they require exclusivity. It's not for additional cachet with their clients, it's because to comply with all the laws in all the terriotories they release the music in they can't risk contrevening the rules of those PRO's by having re-titles out there with other publishers. Most writers that deal with a lot of exclusive libraries know and understand this.If you don't know this I suggest doing some research.

      if the retitles are only for a percentage of the publishing not 100% and I control my share then then my sub-publishers easily sub-publish the share that I control. If not then it is moot and does not matter. If they were exclusive my company and sub-publishers would not be adminning them either. The publishers who retitle are adminning and sub-publishing them. In fact I just had a situation dealing with this on Friday.

      The retitles had publisher names I did not recognize and those publishers turned out to be the UK sub-publishers.

    Totally agree with Art about Jingle Punks. I first joined when it was non exclusive the kept submitting as exclusive. They placed the most amount of songs for me in over 15 years.🤘

    Thanks for the great video Eric and awesome to see The man behind MLR and what a great guy he is too! 😊 i think the hardest part with libraries is not finding who to pitch to, its more the knowing which ones to pitch what music to really!

    Have you done any videos on the content ID side of things besides what you talked about here. My OH has BMI is it ok to go with others as well is my question? Because he does distributor streams, and puts his stuff in libraries both.

    • @MakeMusicIncome
      @MakeMusicIncome  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You should definitely be in both BMI and something like Identifyy. BMI collects Performance Royalties. But Identifyy collects TH-cam Content ID that is made from ads placed on videos. Two separate things.

      Tyvm I will let him know, please do me favor, do a video on a scam we received, and didn't fall for, about receiving emails from a supposed def jam A&R rep and they used one of their Reps names. It was clearly a scam from the get go, but not everyone would see it as such, because there is some legit information within that e mail, that might make one believe it is indeed legit. I personally trust nothing anymore. So I told my OH play along and see what information they try to dig from you, first thing was, his full name, second they were wanting $100.00 in a gift card for paperwork, ECT, ECT. I think that should be brought to light. Please tell your viewers if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That they will not ask for money, or the other things within the e mail. Never give out personal information, and for crimineys sake don't send anyone money. If they want you, they'll offer you money first, is the way we feel about it.

    Just watched. Neighboring Rights pays no matter where you live BUT the USA didn't sign the accord. So if you produce your music in the USA almost no other countries will pay. Brazil is an exception. I think there are a few more. Some countries don't pay on in-program but just airplay like radio, Spotify etc. There are 2 sides; Performer vs Label. Both get paid 50-50.

    • @MakeMusicIncome
      @MakeMusicIncome  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for this. I think US artist and song owners can sign with neighboring rights collection companies. Rident, NRG, etc. But I haven't signed on the dotted line yet.

    • @digitanimation
      @digitanimation 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MakeMusicIncome BTW. Just check with the company to see if they have any money waiting for you. If they find money that is set aside for you, they will sign you. If there is not any money already set aside (this is what each country's Neighboring Rights society does) they will not want you. I think the Societies will hold money in escrow for 3 years.
