How do you get such tight spray with your airbrush. There is like no overspray at all. Dang this is awesome. I just barely found your channel a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks Curtis, hope you enjoy whats here and more is on the way. Avoiding overspray is mainly by overthinning paints and getting in close. Some colours are also better than others, redbrown is a bad one but the green sprays really nicely. Now waiting for a project where I can try my new airbrush on a scheme like this. 👍
Still flash on the rifle butt.
Fav build eva. Poetry in motion.
Thanks glad you liked it 🫡
how do you make the tracks stay intact? mine's very easy to break apart
They are not the kit tracks, they are cast metal with track pins
gotchu thanks
Good job 👍👍👍👍
Glad you liked it 🫡
Very cool !!!
Thanks
What size is the scribing chisel you used?
I think it was 0.8mm.
The music is fire 🔥 Also what superglue do you recommend? Thanks!
Thanks 🕺... I like the VMS range of CA glues but there are other cheaper alternatives. They do need to be flexible CA though otherwise parts will just 'Ping' off at the slightest knock. I use the extra thin mostly and rely on the capillary action to suck the glue under the part being applied. But its worth having some thicker, slower drying CA as well, The black CA is both of these and will give a bit of time to position things like engine deck grills. I will add that parts like stowage boxes(where you fold all the sides around to meet) need soldering as no CA is going to keep those from coming apart at the seams.
Very beautiful work - extraordinary!!
Thanks
Great job on the panther
Thanks
Great video! I learned so much as someone looking to get into this hobby. It all makes perfect sense and I now have confidence to begin the learning process. Keep it up!
Thank you
Say about Dragon what you like, theire instructions being obsolete on whole sections of builds being an obvios one lol. I had my fair share of that, thanks Dragon :-P They do produce some mighty beautiful kits. You did well on the build and interior. How did you paint her up, late war dunkelgelb + olivegreen + redbrown?
@@PanzerChicken69 thanks. Actually I used standard 7028 for the halftrack as it is an older riveted c version and used a 44 version on the rocket mounting frame, to try and make it look like it was a later addition. German green and brown for camo yes.
@@afv-studio Sounds nice, do you have a video of that here aswell? Greetings from Holland!
@@PanzerChicken69 Yes, you can find it on the main page.
Didn’t see how to do the crew?! Sad😢
It might be something I start to do in the near future. At the time I painted this I felt my figure painting was passable at best.
Thank you
Your welcome. 👍
You very deftly bend the photo etch parts and accurately place them on the model with the CA glue. Whenever I clumsily attempt this, the glue does not so easily adhere, and often the part migrates from where I wish to place it or just falls off, and I end up making a mess of it. Same with gluing the darn tow cables. They just spring up, after trying to hold them until the glue sets. You make it look so easy! Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed watching you assemble and build this kit. It is very helpful watching your techniques.
Thank you. Applying CA just where you want it is always tricky. That little applicator I'm using has really helped me. You can see if you watch my Marder III video the difference and ease it has made things from then to now. Those steel tow cables are always a pain for me as well. You have to try making part of any bend before gluing to take a bit of the spring out of the wire and again that applicator made it easy to glue all along the points of contact. Of course a flexible CA is a must as well as it is less brittle than standard CA. Hope this advice may help a little. 👍
@@afv-studio where did you get the CA glue applicator and stand? I just started using the Flexy 5k Ca glue, the black rubberized.
@@Weld24_CosmicKat Its made by DSPIAE super glue applicator and you can find on AliExpress for £10. You can find them in UK but it will cost over £20. The Black Flexy is good for parts where you want a bit more time before it sets. I would recommend 5K extra thin for normal use with the above applicator. The glue is literally sucked from the applicator straight underneath the part and it grabs almost instantly. Its been a game changer for me .
@@afv-studio Thank You! I will get the applicator and the extra thin glue, and give it a try! I'm up gluing track links together for my latest kit. The panzerkampfwagen I, Ausf B, from Dragon/Mono. There is a bit of photo etch included. I will try your technique!
@@Weld24_CosmicKat That's great I'm sure you'll have better success. Pick up some debonder as well while you at it. It comes in handy cleaning up, for the applicators as well as your models. That's a nice kit the Pz I, one of the dragon greats. just so you know I do run a free patreon page that's growing with like minded hobbyists. You may like what's going on over there. Link is on my TH-cam home page if your interested 🫡
Side skirts were 2cm thick. Have you ever tried to bend 2cm thick steel? Sorry, this unreal
Actually they were 8mm thick and by this point had been reduced to 5mm. I did soften those bends out which can be seen at the end of the video. It just wasn't shown during the construction phase.
What glue did you use foe miniart figures? I cannot get tamiya extra thin to work.
That's very strange because I used Tamiya extra thin. What's not working for you? Is the plastic not melting?
@@afv-studio yes, the pieces would not melt together. I used contacta and was fine.

Where did you get that chain from? Man it’s a cool addition

What brand of glue did you use for the wheels to stick them on for the track fitting; I desperately need that ?
Its just a few drops of Tamiya extra thin Gregory. There is no need for resin or other thick glues to create a block. As long as you get a few drops on each wheel and leave it to cure (overnight) it's really a strong bond.
Sorry i think i meant to ask what was the blue color cement you put down prior to the placing the road wheels then fitting the tracks? It looked like a temporary masking
@@afv-studio Sorry I meant what is the the blue glue that you used when fitting the track on the road wheels. It almost looked like a temproary masking paste?
@@gregoryjcopplin7430 Oh right Yes you are correct its masking fluid that holds it in place temporarily. Mr Hobby buy it does take a long time time dry out. Another overnight wait 🤣
