The 2023 Skoda Enyaq SUV EV can -nearly- do it all. Practicality, space, efficiency. It's the choice of international cycling teams for a reason!

Loving the jerky camera style
got eqc amg premium - drove it from london to manc with battery at 90% and arrived home with still 20% of range in the tank - after 3.5h drive !! in those 3.5h I lost 5miles of range - meaning the consumption was basically super near 1:1 where 1 mile driven actually consumes 1 mile of range on the battery! it's a hilton hotel on wheels. PS: had tesla m3p prior to eqc and when testing the battery I'd never ever reach 1:1 consumption even when driving demure and timid - consumption with Tesla was always about 1.5:1 - but the charging superchargers with tesla are a breeze to use whilst with mercedes you will struggle finding a compatible station - had a big struggle with that as you need to set up your mercedesme app and then activate it and it's suuuuch a hassle - after 30min search for a compatible ev charger, I found Evyve station, which was sooo simple to set up and pay with credit card afterwards that charges you like £55 as a gas station would charge £100-£120ish but then the unused amount gets refunded and you get charged via mercedesme app credentials you entered in there and you get a bill once a month to settle.
Thanks for sharing, I found your video on the Tesla Motors Forum earlier in the summer after someone hit the side of my Tesla in the country lane and I was researching what to do next. Long story short, your advice was invaluable and went through Novo who, with the help of my Tesla camera footage, were able to prove the third party was at fault. The work's now all approved and we're just waiting for parts to arrive. Thanks again, really helpful.
How did I not know you had this channel too??
And also if I will use zappi I won't see tesla in the garage hmm..
So I can charge my tesla fully from solar only?? Let's say I work during the night, I can charge my tesla when I sleep only from solar right?
Yes :)

Great, very cinematic and informative! Driving a rented Zoe right now and what you said confirms my experience, except for suspension. But otherwise and excellent first EV. Thank you for this review!
Thank you! ☺️
Regarding the colour of the car in the clip, is it Titan Grey? Or other colour code? Thank you!
This car is quite and good, however this body is hybrid design. Also this effect sound isolation in positive way and consumption in negative.
Got a 2020 GT with Rapid charger for £10,799 about a 1 week ago and loving it - no home charging but 22kw AC charging at work at around 10p a mile currently.

Also worth noting that ncap test the lowest spec which had the side bags removed. All other trims kept them there’s only 500 in the uk out of 30k. Just avoid ‘play’ spec.

What beautiful scenery! Especially the forested areas. What a glorious blue sky 💙
Awesome! Thanks for all the detailed information. Your system looks impressive. Just a heads up for people in areas at risk of hail (I live in Australia), not all solar panels are equal in terms of durability. A few years back we had a storm with tennis ball sized hail. Many of the cheaper, newer panel brands did not fare so well. Our 20 year old panels came through fine. You might need to shop around.
Great point!

Hi @DivingDeveloper: I understand that in Norway, the increased sale of EV vehicles is doing good. Reasonable commuting, available and working public and private chargers, etc. It is not easy to scale up this EV env for a large EV population ecosystem. I returned to NY from Chennai, India. The traffic chaos over there is for Real. Every intersection traffic is a 4-Way with pipeline and multitasking of moving vehicles, bikes, autos, pedestrians, etc. I am an EV Researcher. I have a few qns to check with you. I do not have access to a physical EV like you do now. Do you know 1) Does Renault Zoe has one electric-motor or two on the front wheel ? 2) Are these e-motors oil -cooled ? Can they work in a flooded road 3) Like driving in 2-3 feet of water flooding in low-lying areas like the regular ICE cars do? 4) If the car is stuck in ice or deep snow and my battery is 90% charged, how can I pull out The car from a snow bank? Does the e-motor assisted wheels spin as expected? 5) Do we have 4-wheel or AWD drive available in EVs with one e-motor or two like in Tesla? 6) Does one get electrocuted if the car is in a flooded situation and the driver wants to start and drive? 7) How many total no. of sensors does the Zoe have? Do these sensors go bad after the car is in an immersed state of water for a few days? What will be the resale value of such flooded cars in the secondary market? I heard that Tesla has about 600 sensors (total) in their EV vehicle. Thanks for your answers-
Renault / Dacia are the WORST cars by NCAP rating by far and it's inexcusable. NCAP takes the very reasonable position that safety should improve over time, not just for occupants but pedestrians and other road users. So as safety systems become the norm then they are incorporated into the testing regime. Furthermore, NCAP believes that safety should not be something people pay for so it tests the base model. If Renault decides to cheap out on safety then it damn well deserves to suffer the consequences and it is bizarre to say the least that people make excuses for this. The Dacia Spring is another example of a Renault vehicle which diabolical safety. I hope it hurts sales and maybe they get a clue about this.
Do you ever get problems when charging yoru Tesla on Zappi Eco+ mode ? I have read several comments that say that Tesla will stop the charge randomly.
Oh that’s interesting. No problems, I wonder if that’s a firmware update issue on MyEnergi’s end. It’s possible to manage this with Octopus Energy’s Intelligent tariff which can control the car’s charging rather than the charger doing it. As a workaround maybe?
10 months into my lease and I love mine. Summer efficency is amaising, can acheive 5 miles PKWH. So easy to live with and fits a pushchair easily. Even got a dishwasher in the back. I'm 6 foot and the driver's seat is perfect for me. Great filming and production values.

@mixergy daisy chain? does this mean I could put two small tanks at different ends of my large house and solve the problem of long pipe runs?
watch the head to head vid on car wow with the BMW I Audi and Tesla this merc came last in everything lol
he knows more about cars and EV'S he may act like a twit in his films etc but then that is it acting. EV'S are heavy and do more in their building of the battery etc. EV'S produce more particulate than the internal combustion engine because the EV'S are heavy. we have people flying around for all these cops meetings but telling others not to . this climate warning shit is all bollocks. the mining of lithium is not environmentally friendly at all think you need to look at how they mine for all these elements to make these batteries the amount of diesel used by one truck alone to bring up enough material to build one battery. sorry you are talking crap look it all up properly electric cars are not the future. a tesla has to have a life of 9 years on the road before it becomes carbon neutral but the battery does not last it will need a new battery in that time it is on the road so it starts all over again. go back to your diving and leave the knowings of the EV cars to Rowan as he sure knows more than you about them. o and the climate emergency is bollocks it is all starting to come out now of all the lies we are being told.
Strange doing a review of a model that was phased out during the time of your video? Its now an 85 with more power, range and faster charging.
people (many) still buy the 80... What a strange comment.
If the driver is road -focused and aware of surroundings, he can quickly move out of the way from getting T-boned and losing his passenger and the car. If one is on the phone or scattered thinking or looking somewhere expecting the mercy of other drivers and pedestrians glued to their smartphones, he is taking the chance of a good hit and fast battery burn. If one is injured and cannot get out because the door is jammed, the battery Li will burn them out in < 5 min. EV cars more burnable than petrol cars!
Thanks for your comment. I agree with the first bit but on fires - EVs are an order of magnitude less likely to catch fire than an ICE. (Don’t forget petroleum burns readily). Even in accidents. -Mike
Thanks, Mike. I have a few qns on BEVs. Here they are. 1) Do EVs practice "STOP/START" on their electric motors just like the ICE engines do to save fuel on "STOP and go" traffic? 2) How do DC chargers and superchargers 50-200kW types can charge (charging speed on?) new and used or 2nd hand battery packs (already used for 100Kms)? 3) cold places like upstate NY, Chicago, Minnesota where temps are 10-25 deg F, to get working chargers, loss of battery charge due to cold and battery charge used up to keep the inside cold- this can easily lead from "Range Anxiety" to "Life Survival Anxiety" when little children or babies are onboard? - Thanks Thomas
@Thomas-pz8zx Hi Thomas - there’s no need to stop/start an electric motor as they only use energy when doing work. And they have the advantage of regenerating power back into the fuel tank/battery instead of using brakes.
@Thomas-pz8zx Battery packs don’t age in the same way as old engines do. They work just fine, charging even beyond those speeds and ages.
@Thomas-pz8zx Electric Vehicles are the majority of vehicles in Norway - which is much colder than even the cold snap experienced in the US right now. And the Tesla Model Y is the best selling of them all.
A smidge under Range Rover height? Seriously??!
Yes. There’s about 5cm in it.
@@DivingDeveloper I have an enyaq and I had a Range Rover. No comparison. The enyaq sits way lower.
Ala cantra ??? 12:16
Agree about the regen - I put mine in B and leave it there. Anything you can do in D, you can do with the throttle pedal position. Also if you need to make an emergency stop, the instant you lift your foot you're already slowing significantly some time before your foot is hard on the brake pedal- this must reduce the stopping distance. The thing I'd change is the bl**dy lane assist, however I'd be a bit uncertain about changing the setting with OBD11 - the car records certain settings and if in the event of an accident if it was found that you'd changed the set up from that Type Approved, you might have insurance issues.
Got mine last week! £11k only 2 years old with just 7k miles on the clock. love it!
Sorry but have to disagree with your view on WLTP figures, they are the next 'diesel scandal'. In real world conditions some cars get close, many get nowhere near. Bizarrely I found the id4 bad, the enyaq good and the new Kona brilliant on same route. WLTP is useless for comparison whilst so many cars vary in the percentage they achieve of that figure.
That’s okay to disagree. Thanks for your comment, Mark. I agree, WLTP figures are optimistic and for some models downright inflated and well overdue an overhaul. It’s not as bad as dieselgate - it would be hard to test for the test conditions. But… it’s a standardised test so useful to compare between the Enyaq models versus the ID models etc. They’ve all gone through the same test specification. -Mike
This isn't even the current car, this version was updated to the 85 during the time of this video.
Not sure if its different where you are buy in the UK if buying outright and have personal use on a company car then you can’t claim any VAT back so not 10%, only in the case of if its leased The VAT on £50k is £8333.33 not £5k, if you aren’t eligible to claim the VAT back on the car then the total cost is still the full price of £50k which can be dedicated against the corporation tax for that year so 9.5k in this example.
Saloon not sedan. You're British.
I am, and thusly I shall appropriate this term from the colonies for our very own British Museum! Long Live the King! 👑
@@DivingDeveloper That's more like it.
Live a life of ev ownership without incentives, and also replace the battery with 50-60% of the cost of car.
