      The last time we had good WRs was almost a decade ago...Nothing against Wilson, Bell, etc. but Michigan doesn't do a great offense to get great WRs, so he has a harder job. I wonder when Michigan , hopefully, gets Jaydan Davis going and the recruits (please keep them) the next 2 cycles, that will make our team close to balanced...modern football wants to have about 100 yards rushing and 250-300 yards passing. Michigan will have to alter their plans to do that anytime soon.

      I like the optimism! Looking at Minnesota game, I am not sure Michigan will air it out, Minnesota is a top defense against the pass, they have not given up a passing TD yet...of course they played Iowa (not a passing team) and Rhode Island, so there is some context there. I totally agree Michigan is going to need a passing game to beat the really good teams.

    These coaches should have Alex as the quarterback as week one with a run focus offense. Then by week 4 or week five where we are now the offense would be much further along and Alex would be more comfortable. To throw him in there as his first start against USC is totally doing him a disservice. It's clear these coaches especially Campbell have no idea how to use Alex and that's not the kids fault. That's all I'm a coaches. This offense a week four looks better than it did at week one. We could have been doing this the whole time and been further along! So frustrating

    • @thephoolshow747
      @thephoolshow747 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think Campbell doesn't know what to do with a running qb...and I get it if he never coached one. He is probably more inclined to run a pro style offense. But he has to adjust something...this year is going to be a scrap it together type. I just really hope Michigan wins 6 games if Orgi stays qb.

    • @thephoolshow747
      @thephoolshow747 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Coaches were really better the farm on Warren, so when he is being super turnover prone, Michigan had to switch up the QB. You are right, it was not fair to Orgi, I hope with another week of practice things get smoother and more plays added.

    • @rucotomo
      @rucotomo 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@thephoolshow747 I think what is happening with Orji is very similar to what happened with melroe down at bama. Tommy Reese did not want to play him tried to find every other quarterback instead of running with the best option for the team. Alex orji gives Michigan the best chance to win. If they spent the whole summer and fall working on an offense to cater to his skill set We would be good to go. But it's a catch-22 because there's no other quarterback that can run this offense on a roster. So if Alex goes down then what do you do? But you know what ? That's why Sharon and Campbell get paid the big bucks. To come up with plays that can work for different quarterbacks. They were on staff when they brought in Alex and really in my opinion, college football teams are more effective across the board with a mobile quarterback so Michigan really needs to be having mobile quarterbacks in their quarterback room going forward.

    I feel if Michigan truly needs to be a running team (due to lack of a respectable passing attack) it needs to spread the defense out pre-snap and have both Mullings and edwards in together. Then you run misdirection with qb options to hand it off for inside or outside runs, or keep himself.

    • @thephoolshow747
      @thephoolshow747 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      A running theme is pretty much what this team has. It is the Michigan identity until Michigan gets a solid qb...now Michigan had JJ and they were still a running team. So maybe a good QB doesn't matter. But it helps when you do have to pass. I think Orgi will be better with more practice but teams also have more plays on film and they can feel confident that Orgi isn't going to beat them with his arm.

  • @GBU61
    @GBU61 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    As I look back on this game, Michigan won the game on 4 big plays. A lot of inconsistency and a very limited game plan are a huge concern. As the season moves along and we see what the offense can and can not do, it will be tough to beat teams that can defend the run. If Michigan can not get those big scoring plays and it gets behind on the scoreboard, then what?

    Fresno State is an excellent team and will be among the leaders of the mountain west at the end of the year. Offense, defense and special teams got lots of high-quality repetitions--- Fresno was an excellent prep for Texas. The offense seemed conservative. I'm sure some of that was by design, so as not to show Texas much. But we know teams are going to stack the box and force Warren or Orji to beat them with the pass. Before his injury, I was hoping Tuttle would win the job. Will this offense be dynamic enough with Warren? I I would have liked to see Orji get a full quarter of reps, but it feels like Moore has made his decision. As for RB, I like Mullings as the RB1 and prefer Edwards to be split wide or play in the slot for his touches. Until the line gels, I'd like to see Michigan spread out opposing defenses more often. Defense will be fine. Special teams were very good! Glad Michigan football is back!!! Thank you for doing these videos. I really enjoy hearing your thoughts! Go Blue!

After Orgi's bad 2nd pass, teams will just play him for the run, although I know it worked on the Edwards TD catch. At Orgi, I agree, a few years back JJ got the whole drive not just 1 play here, 1 play there. I think they need to give Orgi a drive or two and see how it plays out. Edwards needs to be more of a passing threat, totally agree. Lets have Mullings and Edwards out together! Thanks for the thoughts Go Blue!

      Each game is different, it will be interesting (hopefully) to see which units improve next week. Wow, 3 centers, I didn't notice that but that points to needing some more practice/reps. I hope the young guys get onto the field later this season for added experience...but it didn't happen last night.

      Yeah, it was pretty tough sledding last night. Michigan doesn't have the 5-6 games to get the ball rolling, everything going well, like they did last year!

    Dusty is trying! GW III and Tschetter staying at UM. Crystal ball for Goldin to UM.. If we can land the Yale guy two 7 footers is a good look!

    I see May likes to pair 4 guards with a post player. If May can keep Michigan's recruiting class in-tact, get 3 or 4 of his starters and his FAU recruiting class to follow him to AA, this will be a tournament team next year.

      That is a lot to ask...but with smaller rosters, a quick transition is possible.

      Can you see any of the following (Washington III, Dug, Williams II, Burnett, or Tschetter) returning to Michigan? Washington, Jace Howard, and Tschetter were at the press conference.

      @@stevewigger4642 I did see them there. That is encouraging, I suppose. Better than not being there, right? I would like any of them to come back and see what a coach who can develop players, i.e. May, could do with them.

    It's a great hire Phil. From what I hear John Beilein was involved in this hire... Get guards and a 4 that can shoot. Make 3's and Free throws. Play good defense. Most importantly don't turn the ball over & Pick and roll works. Go Blue!

      @@thephoolshow747 Check out FAU Center would be a great pickup he has graduate transfer eligibility. I think as long as we have taller guards we will be fine, we need length against the Illinois-type Swiss army knife teams!

    Papa went to Pitt got season ending leg injury .. George Washington considering staying.. i think someone like Will Tschetter could benefit from May being coach

      @thephoolshow747 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yeah, thanks for the right info on Kante. Agreed, Tschetter had a nice jump from one year to the next. It would be neat to see what he would do with May and his focus on 3pt shooting offense. With a guy who can develop talent, I hope Washington sees that and stays in AA. Thanks for the view and comment.

    When Beilein left Michigan in a lurch, I was expecting Saddi Washington to get the job. He was kept by Juwan and later turned down a head coaching job at Western Michigan to stay. Ironically, he was a volunteer coach at Romulus Senior High School under current Alabama head coach Nate Oats, who some have suggested Michigan should target. Do you think he could be a candidate? Personally, I've been a big fan of what Shaka Smart has done with VCU, Texas and now at Marquette. He's only 46 and highly regarded for culture. He would be my pick. (An aside, there were rumors he and Billy Donovan were potential candidates to replace Beilein. I wonder what Billy Donovan is up to.)

    • @thephoolshow747
      @thephoolshow747 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would be all for kicking the tires on Smart. I just would wonder if he would leave a program he has helped build up to the (current) #10 team in the country to come to Michigan? Looking at his record, he only finished 1 season at Texas (there for 6 years) with a final AP ranking in the top-25 one time, coincidently the last year he was there. Not knowing the full story it makes me wonder if he left Texas after his 'good' year to get paid? Is Marquette a top job? Could money pull him away?

    Thank god michigan has a brain . But i dont know why you hire someone with no head coaching experience cost the team heavily with its sanctions of course today there paying players but michigan got to hasty with his hire not too happy how Belein abruptly left michigan . Its already shown many great players dont do well being a head coach plus with NIL its tough tocoach these days but bottom line he lacks coaching abilities in late game plus now the team.was totally an abyss turnovers defense fundsmentals nah hes not good at it
