UPDATE: Q2 Categories are out, including hotels through Chase Travel, dining, and Amazon purchases. This brings the total earning rates (as they stack) to 9% hotels through Chase Travel, 7% on dining, and 5% on Amazon purchases!
Is It hotels through the portal or any hotel?
@@richardshack8246 The Chase portal!
Got the Freedom Flex in February with the 5x gas and grocery bonus. After 2 months I’m already at 36,000 points. I love this card
That's an amazing first couple months! Got any plans for using those points?
@@KevinYangI still have the Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred to open. Once I hit those bonuses, I’ll be redeeming for some nice Hyatt stays while traveling to watch my school’s football games this year.
@@gainesville323 Sounds like a plan! The Chase Trifecta is great
I chose unlimited first because I want to use it in costco. But I have to say, I love all the protections and peace in mind the flex can provide.
That's a great point with costco and Visa!
Waiting for Q3 categories! 😁
Hopefully they're just as good!
I have the OG Freedom. In theory, the 5% bonus sounds good, but it's too much hassle to deal with switching out your CC setup every quarter.
Really depends on how many cards you have imo!
Hi am I too late for the freedom flex, chase is telling me I’m pre approved for all kinds of credit cards? But I’m kind of considering the unlimited because of this whole quarterly thing for the flex, and I believe the grocery one has expired already, and it’ll soon be July. What should I do, I was mostly gonna use this credit main purposes for groceries or Uber or lyft maybe restaurants too dining too. 🤷♂️ a response would be Helpful.
Edit I already have a W.F. Credit card that has 2%cash back
I was getting 10% on grocery’s this quarter with the welcome bonus. Amazing.
Idk if you plan on doing this, but I've got the same situation with the 10x (9x) on groceries with the bonus, but I'm going to buy a $500 gift card to my grocery store end of this week to carry that over into April a little bit. 🙌🏿🙌🏿
The stacking of welcome bonus and quarterly categories is awesome! Was it actually 10% or was it 9%, given there's always the "base" 1 point
@KevinYang it is 9.
@@KevinYang I’d have to break the calculator out, but it was a lot!!
@@hantzmetellus7177 I already get 5x on gift cards with the chase biz cash with 5x at office supply stores.
I currently have a chase freedom unlimited and Chase Sapphire but hardly use the sapphire do you recommend me the flex? I pay all groceries from Walmart with my shopper rewards card from us bank and my food with the altitude go like you mentioned.
The Flex changes a lot, but given it has no AF, I think it makes sense to have it handy whenever the quarterly categories do make sense!
@@KevinYang do you know if chase does a hard pull after applying for another credit card?
hi, just checked seats aero... does transferring UR to Virgin Atlantic enables me to book via Virgin Australia? I see lots of availability either Aeroplan, Alaska, AA, Qantas & Virgin Australia, thanks
If there's availability! I believe with Virgin, sometimes you have to call in to book certain spots, but remember to check that it exists first and put it on hold!
did some additional research and another youtube confirmed... Virgin Atlantic doesnt transfer to Virgin Australia Velocity... maybe thats why there are lots of award availability for Velocity on ANA business class... what a bummer
If I’m an authorized user on another persons chase flex, and now I want my own. Do I need to get removed from their card first ?? Before I go apply for my own
From datapoints online, seems like it should be okay given you're applying for a new account under your own name and all!
My rent and my phone is paid ahead to August to maximize spend. I wish Chase would give a little more on groceries such as 2% on these cards and I would get rid of the soon to have a higher af gold card.
Yeah groceries is historically a low point with Chase, other than maybe the online groceries on the CSP. Frontloading spend is such a major strategy for maximizing these!
I spend much more on both groceries and dining than on gas. P2 has the Flex and the Chase Trifecta. I have the Custom Cash and the Citi trifecta.
+1 to the gas category not being that great!
can you stack 2% rakuten with 5% on Amazon UR pts on the Flex?
Rakuten stacks with credit card rewards yes, but I'm not sure that Rakuten exists for Amazon?
@@KevinYangmy bad... you're right Amazon no longer an option in Rakuten
@@johnwick860 Have you seen it on there before?
@@KevinYangnope, just mixed up 2.5% on Canon with 5% on Freedom Flex 😂
Vancouver to Osaka in business class is 55k?!? I have never seen that the lowest i have seen is 75k one way.. thatd be crazy if there is and id add a stop for 5k
Yup that's still possible! It's rare but you do have to keep an eye out. Partner award space is rare, AC isn't as rare, but does fluctuate in pricing
so after 24 months, do you need to product change or cancel current freedom flex card and then reapply for the welcome bonus freedom flex or you can still have the flex card while applying?
You'll need to product change to another card, or cancel the card, before you can qualify for the card again. Usually I'd wait at least 1 month+ after doing so though!
@@KevinYang thank you for the reply and info
@@majinbuu518 No problem, and good luck with your plans!
